Nov Updates–RSS, GISS, UAH

December 14, 2012

By Paul Homewood

November figures are out for RSS, GISS and UAH. Just waiting for HADCRUT now, but they’ll not be out for a couple of weeks yet.

RSS : Down 0.09C to 0.29C

UAH : Down 0.06C to 0.28C

GISS : Up 0.01C to 0.69C

Full details and graphs once HADCRUT figures are released, but it is interesting to note that the satellites are both showing the return to “normal” temperatures since the mild El Nino fizzled out in August.

I would expect the current numbers to stay pretty much as they are for the next few months.

I’m not sure that it will necessarily be as long as two weeks before HadCRUT3/4 figures are published.
The October figures were published on November 21st, although that might have been a one-off.

I think for those in the UK, it would be good to increase the awareness nd visibility of the ten year trend in the UK anomaly, which has a year to date number updated daily. i.e. The global situation is of interest, but to the UK voter, the local data is more relevant, and the Met Office publish a continuous ten year running average. The current decline in the ten year average of 0.6 degrees in five years is only exceeded by that of 1780 and 1840.

    HadCRUT figures now published:
    HadCRUT3 global = 0.480c, down 0.011c
    HadCRUT4 global = 0.512c, down 0.012c
Also, the MO have published their global temperature forecast for 2013, between 0.43c and 0.71c, with a “best estimate” of 0.57c above 1961-90.
