There was an interesting “Horizon” programme this week which dealt with the subject of cognitive bias, and more specifically confirmation bias in decision making.

It seems that this is unavoidable in human decision making, and even trained intelligence analysts can’t avoid it. If them, why not climate scientists?

Climate Change wasn’t mentioned specifically, but I have long been convinced that confirmation bias plays a significant role in climate research,

The climate scientists are all looking for evidence of climate change, instead of the opposite. Only evidence of climate change is found.

However I am sure it works the other way.

It’s because of that massive amount of CO2 ejected into to atmosphere by all the commentators and fans.
    CCS for football? 🙂
