When somebody says to you that “97% of scientists agree”, does this not make you just a little bit slightly suspicious?

With a gun at your head, it is easy to get a consensus.
Paul,
The survival of mankind is now at risk, and we all share the blame.
We must let go of blame and all work together now for the benefit of all.
As concluded in Chapter 2 of my biography,
“WE WILL WORK TOGETHER or WE WILL DIE SEPARATELY !

Belatedly I have realized that the real enemy is the selfishness, self-centeredness that is in each of us.
“We have seen the enemy and he is us !“
The US NAS, the UK’s RS, the UN’s IPCC, Obama, etc. do not know how to get out the situation they know is on the verge of collapse.
“When somebody says to you that “97% of scientists agree”, does this not make you just a little bit slightly suspicious?”
Absolutely. I cannot see how it is possible to determine that number. And the attempts to do so thus far have been woeful. If ever a number has been manufactured, this is an historic example.
I don’t think it’s on par with your example but I get the comparison. It will be very interesting to see how this is going to play out in future history records.
From your headline, I thought the post was going to relate to the greenies’ proposal that all those not toeing the party line be banished from government.
Now that’s an irony. So the Soviet electoral system was more honest than the co2 religious fools who produced 97% of scientist surveys and fooled the easily led and gullible newspaper editors into believing such ridiculous nonsense, which then had our shallow and cretinous politicians believing the same nonsense.
