Ending Capitalism Is Naomi Klein’s Real Goal

May 11, 2015

By Paul Homewood

Don’t say you have not been warned!

Interviewed by Basta magazine, Naomi Klein lays it on the line:

Ironically, she starts the interview by saying:

It’s not that we’re doing nothing – we’re actually actively doing exactly the wrong things. We have an economic system that defines success and progress as infinite economic expansion. Any kind of expansion is deemed good. Our emissions are going up much faster than they were in the 1990s.

In reality, emissions in the West have declined substantially since 1990. Most of the increase she refers to has come from communist China. But it seems that communist emissions are good.

    I note her book is sold for a profit, rather than given away.

    Well, she is well founded in anti-capitalism. Maybe some guilt is a sub-conscience play? Brainwashed?

    “Naomi Klein was born in Montreal, Quebec….Her parents were self-described “hippies” who moved to Montreal from the U.S. in 1967 as war resisters to the Vietnam War.

    Her paternal grandparents were communists who began to turn against the Soviet Union after the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and had abandoned communism by 1956. Klein’s father grew up surrounded by ideas of social justice and racial equality, but found it “difficult and frightening to be the child of Communists”, a so-called red diaper baby.”

    It looks to me that she has done very well in deed under the Capitalistic versus communist system.

    Hypocrite(s) as an adjective comes to mind for both her and her family. After all, they would have been welcomed back to the Soviet Union as true believers. Right! The system that delivers you is now the system you wish to destroy. Now how screwed up is that line of reasoning?

    Why are there so many of her ilk espousing the same kind of BS? Blows me away: idealism before all else. Sad story.

      Setting to one side (but only for a moment) the probability that the UN is complicit in using so-called AGW as a trigger to bring about world government, I suspect that, as you say, guilt lies at the bottom of some of these ridiculous initiatives. The common factors between the types of people espousing anti-capitalism are that they are themselves comfortably well-off, left-wing, borderline anarchists, despise the working classes (by which I mean all those artisans, entrepreneurs, businessmen, engineers and managers who actually create the national wealth) and resent the authority of politicians, the police, the armed forces and the justice system.

      The same people blindly support Venezuela, Gaza, unlimited UK immigration, spending on useless (but nimby) renewable energy sources, a much-increased public sector, more money firehosed into the welfare system, more taxation on wealth (except their own), the abolition of the Monarchy and reduced defence spending. The same untutored and amoral values are regularly on display among Guardian journalists, BBC news managers, the higher echelons of some universities and, clearly, the Labour Party et al.

    Mark Steyn’s term is “watermelon.” Green on the outside, red on the inside. There’s no more simple or direct example of the real goal of the global warming activist. Their clueless fellow-travelers and useful idiots are well-managed by the Fourth Estate. Her problem isn’t climate change, it’s the “unjust” economic system. But by what measure is the system unjust? And who is going to run the public transit system and every other mode of employment, and how are wages going to be determined? I imagine she’s got that all worked out.

    Watermelon indeed. Worked well for USSR . . . not. Of course communism would work if it were “really” tried, right? All the examples of communism are bad ones because the right people weren’t in charge, the right people being her, apparently.

    A mind clouded with ideology?
    Can’t she see socialists pollute more and worst tan capitalists?
    Can’t she see that capitalists clean better after themselves?

    Reblogged this on CraigM350 and commented:
    Klein is always welcome to live in North Korea 😉

    But, if you know anything about our current economic model and how it has been managed, any sane person would also know that we simply can’t continue with this con-trick for much longer, nor can we progress socially nor scientifically with rampant corporatist monetarism that just 12% of the word’s population currently ‘enjoy’. It is possible to think of something else without living in fear of the coming of the great CO2 molecule, being anti-fracking and a left wing lunatic too.

      So we take away all the money from the “rich”? How does that work? People preaching against capitalism are generally those at the top who will never, ever be touched by any money grab (can you say “tax breaks”?) and those at the bottom who naively think that taking from the rich will give to the poor, rather than everyone being equally poor. Look at what the current crop of socialists have done—dropped America’s employment rate, racked up tons of debt and not one of those who did this lost a dime in the process. Yet for some reason they are thought of as different than say, the Koch brothers, whose only crime, so far as I can tell, is they did put up wind turbines like all the other beloved oil companies. Those preaching socialism are going to stay rich. Everyone else gets to be poor.

    “….As they keep us afraid fortunes are being made,
    In the name of saving our earth;
    From climate scientists to Al Gore now all earning much more;
    Alarmism increasing net worth.

    So don’t be fooled into thinking, by any benefit that they’re linking,
    That the planet is their real concern;
    Who’s going to want to deny, or admit to the lie,
    And risk the amount that they earn?….”

    Then there’s Christiana Figueres:

    ..and here in Australia they’re calling Maurice Newman a kook for saying that it is precisely what the UN is aiming for.

    There are two types of people – wealth creators and wealth consumers. You can see which type Klein is. It was also noticeable in the election who were wealth creators and who were wealth consumers.

    She says: “To fight climate change, we must fight capitalism.”

    She means: ” To fight capitalism, we must fight climate change.”

    The fight against capitalism is the goal; the fight against climate change is the excuse.

    For a person with a hate of all things fossil fuel she seems to spend a lot of time flying around the world.
