I really don’t know whether to laugh or cry!
Ed Miliband had the gall to stand up in the Commons yesterday and say:
“The Secretary of State will be aware of the very serious pressures that Hatfield Colliery in my constituency is currently under, in part as a result of the doubling of the carbon price floor earlier this year. Can I urge her to work urgently with her colleagues at BIS to ensure that the mine can at least stay open until the summer of next year as originally planned? Because fairness to workers in industries affected is an essential part of a just, low-carbon transition.”

Could this be the same Miliband who gave us the Climate Change Act, which made the closure of coal mines inevitable?
Or the Miliband who committed his party in 2012 to “a carbon free electricity system by 2030”?
Surely not!!

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT 
As the period from his election as Labour Leader until his resignation made abundantly clear Ed Milliband is perhaps the wisest fool in Britain at the moment. He is unable to see any connection between the Climate Change Act, Green Subsidies and closing coal mines. Therefore the potential energy crisis will come as a shock and be nothing to do with him.
Only the left-wing elitists such as Ed Miliband could come out with such blather as “Because fairness to workers in industries affected is an essential part of a just, low-carbon transition.” Designed to sound like he cares. Only sounds as if he understands a “low-carbon transition.” He does not!
Elitist such as him only care about control of the population through gulling them though sophistry. As you say Paul, in 2012 he said “a carbon free electricity system by 2030” in another speech for the gullible.
He cares for just one thing — more power over people, never power for people, because as an elitist he understands that only he knows best.
All I can say is..

Yeah tell me about it. The VED POLL taxes I have to pay on my two older low mileage vehicles totalling £730….. Carbon Taxed to bloody death while other pay next to nothing

Unbelievable! All these politicians appear to suffer from localised amnesia: i.e. they forget what they’ve said and done but remember everyone else’s actions and words for decades.
Rather unsurprising from the man who brought us the Ed-Stone. Presumably he see the irony but just can’t admit it.
