With Paris coming up, the climate silly season is in full swing!

So we get a junk study on bees, which ignores indisputable evidence that it is habitat loss and degradation which is responsible for the dramatic decline in bee populations.

A rehash of the laughable Lewandowsky survey.

And a return to the “ocean’s eaten my heat” excuse to explain the pause, which we were told last month did not exist anyway.

There is clearly a well oiled machine which makes sure these stories make the headlines, which the media are happy to facilitate as they know such scare stories sell papers.

Meanwhile, as far as China and the others are concerned, the only thing that matters is that they get their $100 billion a year.

Naturally tne BBC reported the bumblebee story:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-33442006

I was amazed at the off hand manner in which these researchers have dismissed alternative causes of the decline, such as pesticides and changes in land use.

Although Matt McGrath in the video says one minute that they were able to “rule out these factors” as a cause, but later merely says that “warming is having the bigger impact”.

There is a big increase in the bees here in the Fens this year. I had trouble seeing any last year, just lots of dead bodies everywhere.

All the wild flowers are covered in them. Some thistle flower heads have 4 bees on. I think farmers have been banned from using pesticides.

So what do you think killed them last year?

Don’t know, but there have been very few around here for a long time.

    Paris is coming
    So the silly stories grow,
Like the one’s from the nineties
That said good bye to snow!

    re:Lew-Paper

I commented over at BH – but it bears repetition…

Lew’s career was – as far as I can see – at something of a dead end / a downward trajectory at UWA with people queuing up to complain about his antics. The inadequate goons presently running the Royal Society have been smarting from a series of minor maulings/drubbings from assorted critics – lacking both courage and evidence they decided on a wheeze – that they needed their own “unattributable” version of “Professor” Bob Ward – voila!

Historically it’s a well trodden path in the propaganda game that if nothing else is driving people to distraction and blurring the issues – which for Nurse and the crew is absolutely what was intended. I earnestly hope it explodes in their faces – the tactic is both cowardly and deliberately divisive and I think it’s fairly safe to say will dilute respect for a learned institution to homeopathic levels.

One really does have to wonder at what the editorial guidelines prescribe and who writes those prescriptions.

Who are they trying to convince FFS? Not the Chinese and Indians. Look at the “You might like” article above these articles. Daily Mail readers, the most ephemeral niche in the pantheon of “targets”.
I felt 2 months ago that the pre-Paris “great thrust” would peak too early but 4 months short, really! Only the EU and USA are in anyway serious about the Global Warming Narrative.
Both are hopelessly divided (politically) over the issues. I now seriously think that Paris is going to be the last hurrah for the whole debacle. Between now and then watch for the usual suspects to start hedging and preparing their exit lines.

I have been waiting for years, it just gets worse.
Once they start telling lies, they have to go on telling bigger and bigger lies.

“…researchers warn it [skepticism] may be harming debate on global warming.”

Silly season indeed! Are they really too dumb (or dishonest) to realize that without skepticism and disagreement there IS NO debate!! There’s no reason for debate because everyone is of like mind, which is exactly where they want us to be.

    One thing for believers….

The phrase “settled science” is an oxymoron used by real morons to manipulate their
fellow morons at the expense of everyone, moron or not. In essence, it means you have
only two choices: believe the lie or STFU (no debate).
