Record Warmth In January (1916!)

February 3, 2016

By Paul Homewood

There was an awful lot of fuss a month ago, when it was announced that December 2015 was the warmest on record in the UK. Even though the previous record had stood since 1934, it did not stop the usual suspects from screaming global warming.

Well they’re a lot quieter this month, and not just because last month only ranks tied 21st warmest since 1910.

Much more notable, however, is the fact that the warmest January on record was in 1916. I don’t remember there being much global warming around then!

Quite why we are subject to such biased information worries me. Have you all read “1984” the Orwellian prediction of Government by fear?

I think most governments these days run on fear and trying to convince their populations that certain death awaits them if we don’t create a world government (whcih will also be run on fear). People seem to adore fear and fear freedom. I guess it’s just the way human beings are. Orwell was not really prophetic, just an astute observer of human nature.

Oh dear we have not adjusted that one yet.

Yes but 1916 was the wrong sort of warmth. I would have thought that was obvious.
