How Global Cooling Led To The Widespread Droughts Of The 1970s

By Paul Homewood

In October 1974, the NOAA Magazine published this piece by Patrick Hughes about the detrimental effects of 30 years of global cooling (yes, the cooling that warmists insist never happened!)

We are told that global warming has led to a worse climate, with more extreme weather.

Yet every account seems to bear out that the reverse is true, and that the warming experienced between 1890 and 1940 was actually hugely beneficial.

Discussing Northern Hemisphere temperatures, NOAA state that “the total change has averaged about one half degree Centigrade” since 1940.

Yet, according to HADCRUT smoothed annual averages, the drop is only about 0.2C, between 1940 and 1973. (A simple year on year comparison shows that 1973 was actually slightly warmer than 1940).

Paul you have been rattling their cages…

but this is important, are you aware of this announcement by Department of Business & Energy & Industrial Strategy DBEIS today ?

    see link:

    Note application criteria

    To Apply:

Applicants must have expertise in at least one of the fields identified by the IPCC

Participation in the Scoping Meeting for this Special Report will be decided by the IPCC and does not imply the participant will then be selected as an author. Author selection will be carried out by a separate, later, process.

Participant selection for the meeting will be made by the IPCC Working Group Bureau in consultation with the Working Group Co-Chairs. In selecting the tightly limited number of scoping meeting participants, consideration will be given to the following criteria: scientific, technical and socio-economic expertise, including the range of views; geographical representation; a mixture of experts with and without previous experience in IPCC; gender balance; experts with a background from relevant stakeholder and user groups, including governments.

Paul would your face fit? Probably not despite your clear thinking and challenging evidence..

I doubt it as the missing bit is that you must believe in global warming. Another exclusion criteria would be knowing what you are talking about since the IPCC rejected the world’s leading expert on malaria for some kid out of college who had produced nothing on the subject or of any other disease. Anyone prominent in their field has left the IPCC years ago after they saw how they were misrepresented in the report and especially the summary. They even sued to have their names removed.

An interesting problem for AR6 will be climate sensitivity to CO2. They avoided the subject last time but there have been a number of papers published on the subject that drag it as low as 1.1. More are likely to come before the report cut off date.

The word “fact” will soon be totally devalued, if all you have to do is stick it in the name of your organisation, it will soon join the likes of “charity” and “independent” that make me look for the hidden agendas; all 3 of those words were deployed on BBC radio 5 this morning in a discussion of cholesterol, which the medical/pharmaceutical establishment decided in advance was a problem, making them a lot of money, somewhat akin to CO2.

Actually, I thought of Jim Steele (Landscapes and Cycles). He has experience in land use and how it affects climate and wildlife.

The NOAA figure of 0.5 degrees probably refers to land only, whereas HADCRUT probably includes sea temperatures, making it highly susceptible to the frequent changes in technology used to measure those temperatures (buckets, engine intakes, etc).

In the copy beginning “MAN HAS REACHED ….” there is this:
“… and – despite increasing world grain production – dwindling grain reserves.”

    Two points:
    1. Only the rich can stockpile enough food to last through 7 lean years;
    2. In 2016, the world has massive (record or near-record) harvests.

When the up and coming “Cooling” really begins to set in, these “liars” will turn and say “Because of what humans (These “devil’s will never say “Mankind” because that is [not] in their vocabulary, Humans are no greater than insects?) have done, unconsciousably polluting our planet, Earth itself has begun to fight back (Meaning that some how Earth is alive and “reasons” itself to rise up and fight back cooling the planet to protect itself?) against the people who caused this (Selectively???)” !

“And now that is why this is happening !!”

Liars will never admit to anything, rather they will take what ever they have and morph into something else which is entirely a “new” lie !

Always have and always will !!!

But also they are “traders”, and traders should be shot !

So since that is not right taking vengeance in to our own hands, leave it to God, and on that day, they will wish they had never been born…

Please read about loess. It will help your argument

The really sad thing about all this problem is that carbon dioxide is good, temperature rise is good (for all life forms). Mathematical models are not gods, and the saddest thing is that there is no correlation between CO2 and Temperature whatever these models say: (maybe they do not remember that GIGO applies). Unfortunately, the believers are totally dominant and costing trillions.

The UK electricity demand is at a lowest ever because heavy industry is leaving steadily. Maybe we could increase the interconnectors with Norway so that they could provide our balancing-electricity as well as gas then we can all sit back and import everything that we use thanks to the wonders of our services sector.

The links to the global cooling droughts timeout and do not work of course. I am in Australia maybe that is why?
