DMI now have the September numbers out for Arctic ice extent. They confirm that average extent over the month is one of the highest in the last decade.

Far from being in a death spiral, September ice is clearly on the increase

I doubt whether you will hear any of this from the Met Office

“I doubt whether you will hear any of this from the Met Office.” Anything to protect the AGW narrative is fair game as the end justifies the means. I believe more people realize this than we know. People are realizing the sky isn’t falling despite the MSM efforts to make it happen.

What you are hearing is the dog not barking–All of a sudden Arctic ice is not interesting.

You won’t hear about it from the BBC either. Cardinal Harrabin is more interested in the fact that the EU has ratified the landmark Paris climate deal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-37553134

I saw an amusing graphic on a BBC weather forecast the other day. “The rural chill effect”.
In other words, the inflated night time urban temperatures are normal and the rural ones are somehow skewed.
With one bound the BBC is free from that pesky UNI effect.

Wow. That’s classic. The fecundity of the sophist mind is truly awesome.

While I am not at all concernd about Arctic sea ice, it is incorrect to state that september sea ice is clearly on the rise. You simply cannot state that, and you should not. An honest interpretation of the numbers you present would be that the trend since 1979 is one of ice area reduction. It takes a lot more to show a reversal of that trend. You have at least 4 other periods with similar behaviour as the last 4 years.
Stay honest and don’t use the same approach as alarmists do.

I’ll let the graph talk for itself

“An honest interpretation of the numbers you present would be that the trend since 1979 …”

Convenient start date that 1979, for all the usual, often repeated reasons.

The ‘death spiral’ seems to have lost its way in the last ten years, if the September stats are any guide.

Perhaps when the Vikings are living and farming again as they were in Greenland during the Medieval Warm Period; then the WMO will no doubt complain, and spout similar blather as in your link Robin. Thanks for that by the way.

October re-freeze seems to have lost it’s way a bit, but I’m still breaking out my woollies here at Latitude 52degs
