10,000 fly in for doomed climate talks

November 5, 2016

By Paul Homewood

From The Times:

More than 10,000 people are flying to Marrakesh for a UN climate change conference despite officials admitting that they will make little or no progress on key issues.

The two-week meeting, which begins in the Moroccan city on Monday, was declared as the “conference of action”, where 195 countries were supposed to reveal how they will fulfil pledges made a year ago to cut their emissions. Instead, they are likely to agree to suspend talks until 2018.

Previous conferences have produced communiqués with grand titles named after their location, including last year’s Paris Agreement. A UK government source said: “Will there be a Marrakesh Something? There will have to be a decision that basically says we agree to reconvene with a date.”

However, delegates will be able to stay busy thanks to a Michelin guide to the conference supplied by the UN. It lists top hotels, “beauty and wellness spas”, as well as the best beaches.

Same old!!

Marrakesh is hundred of miles from any beach. What a waste of taxpayers’ money!

The green Shangri La! jetting [jetting!] round the world, sucking it up on the taxpayer ticket, free 5* hols, limos, pros and proscribed drugs madness goes on and on and hopefully down a black hole eventually, though sooner rather than later would be most preferable

Marrakesh, interesting choice for the happy clappy green religionists, hippies used to love the place and now it is a different crowd who one should tread rather wary of, heaven forbid these dedicated zealots of green should chance to meet up with an even more zeroed fanatical gang of fundamentalists.

Yeah…………..and on a meme dedicated and linked to, f**kwit greenery and the EU.

On another tack, I recently noticed that, when our bins are emptied the paper recycle bin and the green ‘bottles can and plastics’ all go into shock horror! the same trash lorry!………………

Aye, where the local council recently spent a £millionaires ransom [±£750 mil’ and money borrowed at that] on a brand new shiny recycling facility.

But er ah…………erm but the bottom then dropped out of the recycling thing……. all thanks to oil price drops and manufacturers being able to make stuff cheaper, thus undercutting the prices of recycled products made of raw materials salvaged from such centres – so that now it all goes to land fill.

See here and here scroll down to look at picture of lady who is forced to use 10 different bins!! YES TEN!!

I wanna know, how many councils have on the QT silently admitted defeat in the great green recycling scam horlicks and now that we are/are not leaving the EU – has this made any difference to the the great green scam [no probably]?

Are we in deep do dos and how, why, should we – let em get away with it?

Indeed around the country; is there any contributor on this ‘ere blog thread – in possession of any [recycling plant closures]………….. more info?

Think a fair amount of Councils allow the paper/plastic packages to store, compost and spontaneously blow…thats the standard strategy in the Midlands and further south. One near me 2 years back caught fire and burnt/smouldered for 3 weeks and the wildlife sweeties were into the streams bailing the fishes out. Meanwhile great clouds of black sh*t and clods of stuff were in the air…the latter dropping in the streets. People were told to stay indoors and shut windows. No lessons learnt to date! Think a recent similar fire (Brum) exposed a fair few illegal immigrants (Ghanians)…I mean cooked ones.

Yes, there have been similar incidents around west yorks, it doesn’t receive much publicity, I wonder why?

The UN at its best. Each of these “parties” cost millions and produces, at most, a date for the next one.

But J.F.H. the second generation of attendees is just getting started. Public Servants lead such drab lives that they want a little – free of course – partying in luxury so they can do their jobs the rest of the year – apart from annual, long service, sick, stress, study, birth, and domestic violence leave.

I nominate the Scottish tropical island of St Kilda. for their next party conference.
Let them fly in to St Kilda’s famous international airport and helicopter pad. Feel how the warm Mediterranean climate of the westernmost islands of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland has kick-in over recent years. Experience the sun-drenched beaches with the warm North Atlantic lapping invitingly on the shore…

I canna speak for St Kilda International ……… but on Skye, over the years we’ve had some beautiful weather and week upon week of stair rods too!……. two holidays in Oban, Jura and surrounds – I probably was as brownly tanned as I’ve ever been.

Though, I get your….drift [honest! ;)] and up there – 5* owt are few and far between. though for me, what about Svalbard or, Novoya Zemla?

Maybe they could give some money to save St. Kildar, and all the Hebridean Islands, Faroe Islands and Rockall from being inundated by the sea. After all they did it for the Marshall Islands why not St. Kildar, Rockall and the rest?

The Canadian delegation to the Paris conference exceeded four hundred people. Complete with an official photographer. (Cell phone pictures and those from news organizations apparently are not sufficient) All at government expense.

    Channel 4 last night:

China: Between Clouds and Dreams: Episode 1 – A Letter from Russia

Some good video of the landscape but very quickly into sour 2 deg C temp rise (heading for 5) and glaciers melting. Jianggudiru Glacier on Geladaindong Mountain melting fast, so expect all and any river drying up soon…its Global Warming that’ll do it. No evidence of course other than a few dripping ice walls here and there.

I was struck by the little deaf girl being supported after her parents dumping her for the Cities. If there was a story in this program it was that…heart breaking stuff! Nothing shown about the dire poverty in China while the wasters hold global meetings (junkets) that achieve SFA.

I also saw that programme. Did you notice how green was the area around the disappearing glacier in Tibet? Normally such area are just grey and lifeless moraine , but not there.
The idea that the disappearance of the glacier means the disappearance of the rivers rising from the Tibetan Plateau does not make sense unless the whole monsoon system fails .
The same amount of water will fall on the high peaks, but not as snow and ice.
The Severn rises in Wales from an elevated plateau. There has been no glacier on Wales for 10, 000 years , but the rain still falls on Wales and the Severn still flows.

Somewhat off topic, but this blog links to their cartoon: why is the GWPF website so drab, difficult to navigate, and out of touch? Feedback distinctly unwelcome too. Perhaps that’s why red in tooth and claw deniers like me avoid wasting even a single click on it.

Interesting that Josh’s 2015 cartoon can be recycled this year with absolutely no loss of meaning or need for modification “Same old, same old” says it all.
    I trust Josh gets remainders!

Flying all over the world to complain about ’emissions’?

If there was a Nobel prize for hypocrisy these climate timewasters would be hot favourites.

Yet another example of the expensive uselessness of the UN. A good career, though, for those who value money over integrity.

I’m a little confused. I’ve followed these goings on for years and fully remember the way COP21 was posted as being a complete horlicks and that nothing would come of it. And so it was. To those who follow these things (that’s us) we knew that the Chinese promises of cuts were not worth the rice-paper they were printed on; that India would still do it’s own thing; and that Germany was re-arming rebuilding coal power stations at a furious rate.

So, it all ended in farce. But then, just the other day, the BBC announced that the ‘Paris agreement’ had now entered into law.

FFS! What law? When did this go through the Commons? Is it going to be like the mobile phone (restrictive usage in vehicles) law – more honoured in the breach than observed? (And yes, I know Shakespeare might have meant it slightly differently).

Don’t forget that these huge junkets have another purpose. That is, to keep the “Climate Justice” meme alive and well.

Eventually, the US and Europe and Australia and the rest of the developed world will no longer be able to even pretend that Ruinable Energy is anything other than a buttock-clenchingly dreadful waste of money and is completely useless.

Then, (or even before) there will be no shortage of testosterone supercharged young men and whining young women from the third world who will join our very own breed, who have fanatical faith in the greenie religion they have been taught and who will need no encouragement to justly punish the citizens of those developed countries, for failing to stump up all the riches they have been promised.

It is likely to put even the antics of militants believing in “The Religion of Peace” in the shade.

    Get ready.

Okay, so Marrakesh has a bigger carbon footprint than Glastonbury. But Glastonbury only has mud, sketchy food and music of dubious quality, all very expensive, while the typical COP has call girls and boys, booze and great tucker, totally free of charge. What’s not to love about it? I think I’m in the wrong job.

A couple of comments, not controversial, dropped into the WP rabbit hole.

  17. November 8, 2016 11:21 am

Words of wisdom by John White:

“Global Warming” is a narrative that has created a carbon credit industry worth billions of dollars world wide As we know the science debate is fierce: powerful moneyed vested interests on the one side: deeply sceptical independent minds on the other
We really don’t know if the planet is warming, or not, neither do we know if man is responsible, or not, or some other force, such as Sun Cycles:

But we do know about dodgy hockey sticks and iffy monitoring station locations and leaked Climategate Emails (and some of us don’t forget!)

And this is reflected in the 00’s rebrand from the increasingly questionable “Global Warming” to “Climate Change”

    “Climate… that changes”

    Otherwise known as… just “Climate!”

That is what all modern “Climate Change” theory is about: taking whatever the Climate might happen to be… and ramming it into the theory…

Getting warmer? Climate Change! Getting Colder? Climate Change! Good Summer?

Climate Change! Bad Winter? Climate Change! Heavy rainfall? Climate Change! Long drought? Climate Change!
