Top blog!
It would be funny if it wasn’t for the fact that one can imagine the EA actually doing something like that.
Strange as it may be Phillip, I can imagine the EA doing that.
HAHAHHAHHHAAAH
Brilliant!
Apparently, the flood has caused some freshwater contamination, resulting in lack of good freshwater, and, as a consequence, drinking-quality water should not be used to wash cars.
And besides, looking at the car floating in the flood waters, I’m sure it is dirty because flood waters are almost always muddy.
Good work from the EA! Please do continue in the same manner.
wert:
Do you mean the EPA should be floating in the muddy flood waters?
But to be fair, the EPA did say that sea levels are rising.
The Lake Eyre yacht club is back in business.

People overseas may not remember Tim Flannery’s claim that Global Warming meant that the rivers wouldn’t flow any more. (local version of Al Gore).
The Lake Eyre Yacht Club is a dedicated group of sailors who sail on the lake’s floods, including recent trips in 1997, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2007 and 2009. A number of 6 m (20 ft) trailer sailers sailed on Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre in 1975, 1976, and 1984 when the flood depth reached 3–6 m (9.8–19.7 ft). In July 2010 The Yacht Club held its first regatta since 1976] and its first on Lake Killamperpunna, a freshwater lake on Cooper Creek. The Cooper had reached Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre for the first time since 1990.
When the lake is full, a notable phenomenon is that around midday the surface can often become very flat. The surface then reflects the sky in a way that leaves both the horizon and water surface virtually impossible to see. The commodore of the Lake Eyre Yacht Club has stated that sailing during this time has the appearance of sailing in the sky.
Sir Terry, in “The Last Continent”, had the Alice Springs dry river-bed regatta cancelled due to flooding… “How do they expect us to hold a regatta when it’s all wet?” complained a local.
Usually colder times are dryer times. Has there been a specific study of how much a negative AMO effects precipitation levels in the UK and not just “mid-latitude” regions such as “Western Europe” as the several I have seen do.
Let’s hope HMG avoids reinventing the wheel by checking out Australia’s experience, where they were so scared of water shortages that they spent Gazillions on desalination plants, just before the rains came; they’ve never been used. Followers of Jo Nova will know this story well. Whats the betting that the EA and HMG don’t?
The population of the country is rising. More houses are being built. Therefore more water will be required. Are the privatised water companies using this EA argument as a straw man to avoid building new reservoirs perchance? In the end, new reservoirs will be required. The privatised water industry may very well use this argument again to get the taxpayers to stump up.
No. The government is preventing them from building new reservoirs.
Actually it’s the EU Water Directive – which doubtless we shall continue to follow after “Brexit” (which is now just the date on which we will lose any voting rights over the laws and taxes the EU imposes on us)
“Climate change” is the excuse, all over the world, for Government departments NOT to do something…
Puffins are the latest marketing/publicity event from the UK Conservation Industry (National Trust). R4 Today followed the script to perfection:
Guest: Puffins on Northumbrian islands have declined by 12% (based on 2 data points, and it is very difficult to estimate numbers, the methods may even cause a decline)
Humphrys: Why?
Guest: Climate Change: hotter/colder/wetter/drier whatever
Humphrys: What can be done about it, presumably nothing?
Guest: Wrong, we can be more ambitious
Humphrys: OK
The Guardian and Telegraph have similarly suspended their journalism functions, and provided marketing platforms for the National Trust.
Ergo, the term “fake news>”
I wonder if there’s been some joined up thinking by our leaders and betters:
