      “…cycling…”

Thy puffing will produce much carbon dioxide. Better stay at home, lying down.

I like your new environmentally-conscious non-carbon dioxide emitting vehicle. You will be quite safe if you persuade 70 million frenchmen and women to drive exactly the same.
    Otherwise have a happy holiday.

    Happy holiday Paul.
When you get back take a look at the latest Werlsh Nuclear power deal brokered by the Government, it’s another doozy.

    Happy holiday, Paul.
Some good news- one of the 3 complaints I have made to the BBC, using your data, has resulted in some action (see below), but not an apology.
One complaint rejected- they clearly have lawyers who parse each word to weasel their way out.
One complaint was not responded to in the required time, so I have sent it to OFFCOM.

My personal view is that everyone on this forum should complain, individually, each time the BBC comes out with its unsupported AGW propaganda. It would keep them busy if nothing else,

All the best and keep up the good work.

Subject: BBC Complaints – Case number CAS-489****-******
    Dear Dr *******
    Reference CAS-489****-*****
Thank you for contacting us about ‘Costing the Earth’ broadcast 11 April.
Your concerns were forwarded to the programme’s production team, their response is as follows:
“This is the reference to the study: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/mar/01/northern-hemisphere-sees-in-early-spring-due-global-warming
On this one, while the 26 days claim came from an authoritative study, we agree that in the original programme the study was used out of context. The study should have been clearly introduced as referring to a study of plant phenological advance in Greenland. The programme should have also explained that it was relating to a plant spurting 26 days earlier.
As soon as the short coming was pointed out to the team, the billing was amended to take reference of the 26 days claim out. The programme was also re-edited and the section containing the 26 days claim was taken out. The version of the programme currently available to download does not include this section.”
We do appreciate the time you have taken to raise this with us.
    Kind regards
    Yvonne ****

Probably worth noting that of the plants looked at in this “authoritative study” just one species showed this 26 day trend. The climax vegetation, grey willow, which is much more likely to be representative of long-term change, does not.

Take care Paul, there have been thunderstorms and flash floods in many parts of France for the last week and are forecast to continue for the rest of the week. Much damage has been caused by hail marble to golf ball size in some cases.

I didn’t know the TdF was starting early this year. Have a great time and watch out for those thunderstorms ruining the grape harvest.

Have a wonderful holiday Paul! I love your blog – there’s nothing like facts.

Quick question: How did you get up on that thing? I assume it’s a picture of you ; )

Couldn’t you just attach your bike to a generator here and not bother with France at all? That would be public spirited, moan.
