Commissar Figueres Orders Us To Save The Climate

As part of their Climate Change Season ( well, Jan1st to Dec 31st), the BBC allow Christina Figueres to spout her anti-capitalist agenda unchallenged:

Her instructions to us are:

  • Cut down on red meat, go veggie. Don’t eat high carbon
  • Don’t drive, you should walk, cycle, use public transport
  • Insulate your house and save on expensive energy costs
  • Don’t invest in companies who produce carbon emissions
  • Vote for politicians who understand the climate emergency and will take action

For some reason, the BBC forgot to ask her :

1) What will happen to all of those farmers who rely on livestock, and whose land is pretty much useless for arable farming anyway.

2) How does she manage to “walk and cycle” around the planet, in order to get to all of her meetings?

3) Where are people expected to get the money from to insulate their homes, when the energy savings are so tiny?

4) What we are supposed to use to power our economies, heat our houses and get from A to B, when we have managed to shut down the fossil fuel companies which she so despises.

5) In the UK, which politicians do we have a choice to vote for, who “don’t understand the climate emergency”? Does not the Marxist witch realise that we would all love the chance to vote for someone who does not blindly follow her agenda?

Other items on the BBC Climate Propaganda Channel (AKA BBC Science) include a couple of paranoid bints, who have decided not to have babies because of climate change, and some Swedish mums who have launched a campaign urging people not to fly in 2019. ( Perhaps they ought to have a word with Christina Figueres and most of the BBC reporters!).

For some reason, I could not find any reference at all on the BBC Climate Channel to the fact that China, India and the rest of the world, outside of Europe and N America, accounts for 70% of the world’s emissions and are still busily increasing emissions of CO2.

Perhaps it is time they also insulated their homes and stopped investing in Shell?

Anyone that believes the MSM isn’t owned and operated by Marxist/Socialists is naive. CF’s diktats are just plain stupid and without thought. it irks me that we’re allowing nut cases like this to blather on without rebuttal and give them an open forum to spew their nonsense.

    Don’t eat ‘high carbon!

What am I supposed to eat, f…king silicon?

When I was young I used to regret that I would die one day and miss all the great stuff that mankind was gonna do, land on Mars, explore the planets, etc etc.

Frankly I can’t get out quick enough, you’re all welcome to this dystopia of utter stupidity.

Why would anyone give a rat’s ass about the ramblings of a socialist liar . Eat all the red meat you want and ignore this siren for the IPCC.

I find it best to avoid all BBC content – it’s not good for the blood pressure.
Perhaps just a little This Week and Gardeners World – but even those have been getting more PC and propagandistic.

“Is that true or did you hear it on the BBC?”

I live in a stone farmhouse, once the renovations are finished the insulation will make a huge difference. But if you’ve already got a fairly well insulated building it ain’t worth spending lots on. The 80/20 rule. The rest of what she says is bollocks though.

She needn’t worry about the UK. The Synod of the Church of England supported by the BBC is ruinously disinvesting its pension fund out of fossil fuel companies unless they conform to the Paris Agreement. How this ‘conforming’ is supposed to work is not spelt out. The companies don’t produce CO2 – we do. Sheer stupidity and virtue signalling while the threadbare retired priesthood starves.

“Vote for politicians who understand the climate emergency and will take action…”

Take action? Which ones understand that unless they can quantitatively capture and remove gigatons of CO2 permanently from the atmosphere we will still have the weather we now have? What’s the difference between today’s 409 ppmv and 2015’s 400 ppmv? That’s about 66 billion tons of oxidized carbon. Twelve years of “emergency” negative emission technology? Totally ridiculous. Not even 100 years.

I live in Canada, so my house is already insulated up the ying yang.

I heat my house for almost 8 months every year, and have to use air conditioning for 2 of the summer months. The total bill is about C$2,500 per year — but that will rise with the new carbon tax the government has imposed.

Too, Canada is a big place, so driving is a necessity. Only the largest cities are well-served by public transit. Too, walking or cycling during the 4 months we have 2-metre snowbanks,, and lows of -20C to -30C, is not really safe.

I invite Ms. Figueres to spend a winter here and see if she modifies her “tips”. She’d actually probably freeze them off.

Christina and AOC the U. S. 29-year old new Congresswoman would make a good traveling pair.
