Video Proves That David Attenborough Misled The Public Over Falling Walruses

September 4, 2019

By Paul Homewood

You will no doubt recall David Attenborough’s lies on his Netflix “documentary” a few months ago, which purported to show how hundreds of walruses had plunged to their deaths because of global warming.

Some of the more sane commentators pointed out that these sort of events were perfectly normal, and reflected overpopulation, and not lack of sea ice.

Now video evidence has emerged that similar events have regularly happened in the past:

Aired at the start of the year, the show became notorious for heart-wrenching footage of walruses falling to their deaths from cliffs in Siberia.

Attenborough’s claim that this was due to global warming became highly controversial when it was revealed that the footage had been recorded during an incident when polar bears were known to have driven walruses over the cliffs.

Now, archive video confirms that Attenborough misled his audience. US Fish and Wildlife Service footage, recorded at Cape Pierce in Alaska in 1994, shows that more than 100 walruses had fallen from cliffs there on a number of occasions. The explanation given by scientists at the time was overcrowding on the beaches.

Dr Benny Peiser, director of the Global Warming Policy Forum, called on Attenborough to acknowledge the empirical evidence and correct the record:

This video proves without any doubt that walruses have fallen from cliffs decades ago. These tragic episodes have nothing to do with global warming and everything to do with breeding success and population pressure.

I hope Sir David will acknowledge these scientific facts. It would be a sad legacy if he did not set the record straight.”

Will pigs fly?

It is sad that a once deservedly respected naturalist has allowed himself to become so comprehensively brainwashed by global warming hysterics that he has become incapable of rational scientific presentation. He has surrendered his epithet as a national treasure to that of a national disgrace.

      Paul

Nothing as glamorous as ‘brainwashing’, the dirty old reprobate has just done it for the filthy lucre!

Were he concerned about rising sea levels he would have campaigned to stop the £7bn refurbishment of Westminster Palace, as all the poor weasels that occupy it will be drowned a few short years following its completion, and the public’s money will have been wasted.

Perhaps he should warn all the MP’s.

Or perhaps he has, and actually, not one of them believe Westminster Palace will be submerged, but that instead, climate change is a rather smashing, tax raising, and vote grabbing, political wheeze!

Would drowning the government really be a waste?

No. That is not a part of the official memo. Get with the program.

The publishers should be made aware that they are as liable as the author. This could prove salutory also for the to be the BBC once they are aware of what one of their competitors is walking into.

Aw, bugger the walruses. I want to see a proper re-wilding of Britain, with hippos in the Thames. Roll on Global Warming.

Let’s not forget the WWF was associated with this netflix junk, in my opinion it’s a rather sinister organisation these days.

WWF also just had apocalyptic ads out exploiting the Amazon situation and appealing for yet more money – what are the odds that they are one of the primary sources of that largely fake scare too?

Yes WWF has now long been a far-left bigoted extremist group. The Duke of Edinburgh withdrew his patronage of the group over 10yrs ago as he saw it had beeen taken over by green terrorists.

I beg to differ. The WWF has always been an extreme socialist organisation with a political agenda. Nothing new here!

More CC propaganda outed but will be kept in the dark by the MSM. Anyone that believes the MSM is not bought and owned by Marxist/Socialist ideologues bent on domination is naive.

With his whole reputation on the line, Sir David will never admit outright his crass mistake. He may obfuscate and mumble some reason for this pr disaster. But he won’t admit to blatant fraud…. such is life.

Is that what the walruses were attempting ??

Poor old Addledborough probably doesn’t remember doing the voice over for the video. Even if he did does he truly understand what he’s saying.

The time has come,’ the Walrus said,
    To talk of many things:
    Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
    And whether pigs have wings.’

That boiling hot sea is worrying maybe Lewis Carroll was aware of climate change back in 1870.
GWPF complaint to the BBC about Climate Change the Facts was rejected by the BBC
They are still awaiting a reply to there follow up complaint.
The BBC always responds that the science is settled. The BBC reply to me was that climate change is not considered a controversial subject by them and that Ofcom agrees.

As a senior in high school in 1962 my English class was allowed to choose their Senior Theme subject from a list the teacher had. Kaloo Kalay, I got to choose Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, aka Lewis Carroll. One of my illustrations of the mathematician’s work was “The Mouse’s Tale,” and I still have my hand-written sinuous tale of the tail. Thank you for the quote and taking me back to Alice…….Perhaps Sir David has fallen down the rabbit hole and just doesn’t know it.

An old hoary Walrus, set in his ways and so fat and old, that he can’t think straight anymore it’s a mental image invoked when, I hear attenbergs’ name mentioned.

When the original story broke, I did a lot of research on the blogs of Siberians that helped to put into context the filming of events, with dated photos of the location, and tales of the polar bears in the vicinity. Susan Crockford picked up on that work, and I think it helped to show that the filming was edited in misleading fashion.

More lazy casual climate change propaganda from the BBC ‘This farming life’. Ticks on a lamb in the Cairngorms, so we get – ‘never used to be a problem, the seasons are changing blah blah…’ commentary.

Even the Guardian indicates that the deer population explosion is the issue.

“…in the Cairngorms they[deer] have been seen in herds a thousand animals strong, steam rising from their massed ranks. They swarm over the fells like a plague,…”

“And with the deer comes plague of another sort: cases of Lyme disease, spread by ticks that use the deer as hosts, have rocketed – in some areas reaching epidemic proportions.”

    https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/feb/20/deer-cull-dilemma-scottish-highlands

A Scottish Parliament report shows Red and Roe deer numbers almost trebled between 1963 and 2011.

    http://www.forestpolicygroup.org/blog/a-brief-history-of-the-deer-problem-in-scotland/

Obviously the Deer explosion also applies to England etc. and is the reason behind tick increases there. Just a moments thought demonstrates ‘climate change’ cannot be the driver – tick populations already exist in areas with warmer and much colder climates.

If experience is anything to go by, when in the tropics pumped with malarone and I have to very liberally cover myself in anti bug spray, they seem to sense me, view my body just like a, the ‘host’.

These days, even a walk in the English countryside overrun with deer, becomes off limits for me.

Oh dear. See on this website the Major Complaint to the BBC dated 22 April 2016 chapter 8 of which is devoted to the unscientific Attenborough. I recall fizzing seashells and oh god not again flooded Miami streets at the fag end of the Blue Planet series.
