CLUELESS! NY Gov. Cuomo Says There Were No Hurricanes Before Global Warming

November 5, 2019

By Paul Homewood

If you thought the BBC were bad enough, check out this MSNBC interview with NY Governor Cuomo following some floods in the State:

Note how he is allowed to get away with such blatantly and obviously false claims that “we did not use to have hurricanes, we did not have super storms, we did not have tornadoes”.

The Lid takes apart such ridiculous claims, with a collection of old newspaper stories of just such events in NY State:

The National Hurricane Center have this graphic, showing tropical cyclone tracks since 1851. (The reds and oranges are hurricanes).

There is nothing unusual about hurricanes hitting the northeast:

Same story with tornadoes in NY:

Why don’t the media do the job they are supposed to do?

Because MSNBC is a PR machine for the Democrats and in particular rabidly anti-Trump, pro ‘green new deal’, pro globalisation etc etc. Its replaced CNN as the lead outlet for the ‘resistance’.
The latest stat was that 97% of the US media output is in line with this, some more rabid than others.
Its a long time since anyone in the States produced actual, balanced, un-biased , factual ‘news’ about just about anything. Its all ‘weaponised’. You have to spend some months here to realise the full extent of this. Its completely tribal.

Perhaps someone should tell the Governor about Hurricane Agnes.

Strange. How can you have an average number of hurricane’s per state when the number shown on the map appears to be the number of hurricanes per state ?

Someone should show him the historic maps of hurricanes across the North Carolina Outer Banks going back several hundred years. It looks like a plate of spaghetti.

Maybe his meagre budget doesn’t stretch to a clued-up climate adviser 😆

I think his meager brains and not budget are the deciding factor here.

It’s funny how alarmists don’t seem to have a very firm grip on history. For most, life on earth didn’t seem to start until 1979, at a push1850. Anything inconvenient to their narrative gets ‘mis-remembered’, downplayed, adjusted, homogeonised or simply erased eg, the MWP, Little Ice Age, early 20thC warming, post WW2 cooling, ancient storms, floods and mega droughts etc etc. Any sane person might suspect that their theories might be a tad flaky if they have to tell so many porkies to sustain them.

This same Cuomo is the person who helped create the sub-prime financial crisis. That makes Andy qualified to lead the war on the global warming crisis?

Just goes to show that other countries have politicians as thick as ours and a legacy media that is just as useless.

Paul, you say “Why don’t the media do the job they are supposed to do?”
That would depend on whose definition of supposed to do.
By there definition they are doing a wonderful job of scaring the public and supporting Democrats and globalisation.
By our definition they are lying, exaggerating and hiding the truth.
They won’t stop unless the public really turns against them, but most are way too gullible to do so.

AHH, the old metaphysical question so beloved of my brain addled youth in the 60s. “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” Now refined into ” the climate has only changed during my existence.”
It is really important to have perceived world shattering events during your own lifetime to give validity to your own life/sarc
