Obama Martha's Vineyard House

Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama have purchased a nearly 7,000-square-foot home on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts for $11.75 million, according to a report.

The purchase price was recorded Wednesday with the local Registry of Deeds, the Vineyard Gazette reported.

The Obamas paid about half the original asking price for the property when it first became available in 2015, the report said.

The sellers were listed as Wycliffe Grousebeck, owner of the Boston Celtics basketball team, and his wife Corinne Basler Grousbeck.

The house is located in the Edgartown section on the eastern end of the island and sits on a property of more than 29 acres, the Gazette reported.

Of course, the thing about Martha’s Vineyard is that it is a low lying island. And the thing about Obama’s mansion is that it is on the beach front.

WhatsMyElevation lists the elevation of their home as being 3 feet above sea level. Others place it at 10 feet.

Either way, either the Obamas made a very stupid investment, or they don’t believe in the nonsense that they tried to bankrupt their country for.

Of course, Obama did promise us in 2008 that we will be able to look back and tell our children this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow.

Maybe he really was the Messiah after all!

Whist the rest of us, including those in fuel poverty, pay for this insanity.

      MrGrimNasty,

that shows the sort of muddled thinking behind electric vehicles.
At any point in time, wind is giving maximum available. Encouraging people to put extra load on the grid simply means that the fossil fuel plants (Which balance demand and supply) increase output thereby fueling these vehicles with fossil fueled electricity. The fact that they get it cheaper benefits the consumer, fair enough, but it doesn’t do anything for CO2 emission reduction.

People like Obama should not exist.

Obama is shown in one of Tony Heller videos on you tube stating that when coal plants and other fossil fuels are shut down electric prices will become unafordable and that is what needs to happen. I didn’t realize he was part of the cult alarmists religion “Tony Heller” on you tube is a must watch and should be spread around the UK and Europe The people in Germany are getting hit with high hydro prices because of the green energy scam. If you believe in mankind please watch Tony Heller on you tube. They are short little videos that uses historical data to disprove the alarmists claims. They are a must watch

Of course the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard starts at Woods Hole, so I’m sure he’s taken expert advice from the Oceanographic Institute. On the other end of the island is the infamous ferry to Chappaquiddick.

Yeah, he’s a climate change hypocrite. Big deal.

What I want to know is just how, when he had the hardest job in the world, did he have time to make $37 million?!

IMO that’s the real story here – how crooked politicians make money doing a job that doesn’t pay anywhere near what they end up acquiring.

MARCH 3, 2017 Obama’s Book Deal: The $60 Million Selfie

If you had any doubt that former community organizer Barack Obama sees his future as a corporate pitchman for the rich and famous (the Ricardo Montalban of the policy set), look no further than the deal that he and his wife, Michele, struck with Penguin Random House for a reported $60 million (which is a lot of “Corinthian leather”).

Off thread, but I notice that Storm Abdullah is producing 33% of our electricity by wind- fantastic. But I note that COAL is producing 5% plus. Why do? Ah – it’s inertia, innit?

The house is at 79 Turkeyland Cove Rd, Edgartown, MA 02539. If you plug that address into Google Earth you can see the altitude of various places on the property by moving the cursor around. The circular driveway immediately in front of the house is at 12 ft. The lawn just behind the house is at 9 ft. As you move toward the water along the path it drops to 8 ft for most of the distance to the shoreline. Near the shoreline it drops rapidly to 4 ft at the water’s edge. You must move about 20-30 feet into the water before getting a zero altitude.

The current photo was taken at high tide. Using the historical photo of 4/2017 on Google Earth you can see what low tide looks like with considerably more beach exposed.

So, if high tide is at an altitude of 4 ft we can subtract that amount from the other measurements to see when the Obamas will be treading water.

Very hard to prove, but it seems odd that he buys it for 1/2 the listing price.
I guess there are 11 ways from Sunday for the political grifters to get their to get their payoffs.

And here’s the connection:  ” L A Times supports mandated relocation of coastal properties based on climate alarmist flawed sea level rise claims.”  UN Agenda 30:  We leave, they own it.

  23. December 11, 2019 9:58 pm

That’s old news now but this is Obama, cheerleader in chief of the “we will drown faction”. I would have expected him to buy some property in Montana rather than 3 feet above sea level. I mean, who throws 11 million on a property that will disappear beneath the waves? He knows better – its only the sheep that still believe this crap about sea-level rise. The wolfs take the money and buy beachfront.

That priperty looks big enough for him to practice his short game. I hear that he needs it. Apparently counting and adding are not his strong suits either according to some who have played with him.
