Obviously the NHS is overfunded, and as its disasterous and wrong headed response to Covid 19 has proven, its completely mismanaged. Break it up and bring in private sector expertise. The Stalinist dinosaur must be slain and a modern health service constructed! Germany and Japan would be good models to start with.
You completely misidentify the problem. Western/multinational private companies, inluding the most financially sucessful megacorporations (IT giants, banks, etc), all have these sustainability and diversity management positions, so privatisation would not be solving anything. While in countries uninfected by intersectionalist ideology even the most centrally managed governmental bodies will not have anything similar, so clearly centralization is not the root cause of this ailment. One could debate on the virtues of private vs public systems, but this discussion would be completely unrelated to the subject of ideological activist jobs.
Yes, the centralisation of the NHS has been a disaster in dealing with an epidemic as that needs to be controlled on a local level. The more things are managed centrally the worse they perform. Governments since 2005 have all failed to plan for a coronavirus epidemic which if done properly should have identified local control of outbreaks. Instead we have had them following the influenza pandemic plan which is a construct of the Cameron liberal government. The problem the blonde buffoon has is now having sainted the NHS every Thursday how do you deal with it being the main problem to progress assuming the dimwit even recognises the problem.
Squandering scarce resources on the climate hobby. This is probably ultra vires.
Presumably all paid with paper money, not gold or silver. Burning paper releases captured CO2 and that is hazardous to the climate.:)

Some of these NHS Trusts need serious scrutiny. This one seems to think it’s like a mini UN saving the planet. Local campaigning with media support might help to make it become more accountable to tax payers.
The climate change agenda is PC, no amount of scrutiny will change this sort of nonsense. The government doesn’t have the guts to stand up to it. We need a culture shift first.

I am lost for words at their stupidity. There was never a truer phrase than ‘the World has gone mad’.

This is a shameful indicator from part of the strata of the UK’s society which has embraced the concept of the so-called (but completely illusory) ‘Climate Emergency’ and plans to take full advantage of the money being fire-hosed around in its pursuit.
The NHS is not the envy of the medical world and, despite being the third largest global organisation after the Chinese People’s Army and the Indian Railway, generally performs patchily as a business in terms of procurement, economy of materiel, integrity, efficiency and world-class standing. It makes far too many mistakes with patients lives and health and should be overhauled within this Parliament to rein in its spending and incompetence.
Separately, those activists following the Marxist drive towards crippling the UK even further by investing in Climate Change, should be identified and excluded from taking Government money for a non-problem, which should be followed by the repeal of the Climate Change Acts (2008 et al).
Is that what Capt. Tom Moore spent all that time and effort for?
Never give money to NHS charities. Bureaucracy swallows it up faster than you can say PPE.
If Newcastle Hospitals have declared a “climate emergency” and are worried about the threat to public health of “climate breakdown”, does their action involve dealing with a slide into a rapid cooling phase, a severe cold period, or indeed another mini- or full ice age?
What strategies will they adopt for this eventuality? Have they even thought about it? Do they recognise this is as likely as any other natural change in climate? Modelling can not predict any change other than a random outcome beyond a null hypothesis.
No science or should I say credible empirical data based research following the scientific method is neither part of this nor is it needed because the majority of people just “accept” I for one am a total realist about the NHS. The way the left and they themselves have been going on you would think ONLY Britain had any resources available to deal with the virus. The NHS is not only doctors and nurses but a massive bureaucracy full of jobsworths and union inefficiency. Recent use made of the corona virus to portray the NHS as a sacred cow is no accident. It is a deliberate ploy by the very bureaucrats the system needs to get rid of to protect their empires…and salaries and pensions and nice easy lives.
“Excess mortality” in the UK is running at two thousand more, per week, than deaths in which covid-19 is mentioned. The NHS backlog of treatment is soaring. A young relative has needed an “urgent” operation – for eight months.
Even if I pay for it, no hospital has the facilities any more.
Incidentally, the medical profession, worldwide, is slowly cottoning on to a stark fact: One bug, two illnesses.
The first illness is flu-like. The second is a fulminating vasculitis, an occasional complication of the first.
The people in control of most of our institutions and civil service have become uniformly brainwashed by the “Science”, and really think that they are saving the earth. Sadly, there is no counter to the totally brainwashed newspapers and TV that is readily available, so they only hear that there is a lunatic-fringe of “deniers” that ought to be put-down for their lack of care.
My granddaughter is in this brainwashed group (her teachers have taught them that Greta is a saint, and she does not question the wisdom of her teachers), so I know it well!

Never since the start of the Enlightenment has such wilful stupidity been grandstanded in such a shameless way. It needs to be repeatedly derided for the asininity it reveals in the administration of those hospitals, a group of people who demonstrate breath taking incompetence for the job they are required to do.

Local councils often have climate change officers or similar. This nonsense has been going on for years.
I have a friend, half-Turkish, who wangled a job with a London Labour Council called ‘Turkish Community Liaison Officer’. Needless to say, the local Turkish population, being generally well-off and capitalistically-minded, aren’t interested in him so he has nothing to do. He spends his time browsing the Internet, attending the odd meeting, taking walks round the ‘Turkish Community’, three hour lunch breaks, going on sick leave or taking a holiday. Last pay rise took him over £60K I believe. He’s been doing this for over twenty years now. Soon to retire on an enormous, final-salary pension.
The daily gov. CV19 press conferences get ever more insane. At the same time as Grant Shapps was telling us to stay off public transport and acknowledging car was best, he was boasting about the money given away to obstruct the roads for the minority of local walkers/cyclists. Also, he claimed, in order not to waste the dividend of the vastly improved air quality (which is a lie) he’s bunging more money at electric car charging points that no one wants – does he expect everyone to trade their car in for an electric one before going back to work in 6 weeks? This is all such utter illogical disjointed BS, how does anyone swallow it?

Not just one award , but many of them . It should not then be difficult to find detailed evidene of these awards in the public media or govt press releases . Anyone seen any? Do they give any indication of how this team uses the no doubt huge sum it consumes annually (whilst at NICE they spend their time finding ways to deny cancer patients the latest medicines because they are not “cost effective”, they also probably win awards)
The first advert is clearly just a tick box exercise and is very poor.
Clearly a hospitals main environmental impacts are going to be down to energy use and waste streams.
The best way to tackle this would be through an engineering program. Taking a specific example, a study could be done on the boilers looking at their efficiency and seeing if a new unit, better control system, newer HP valves etc, and how much is spent on heating could be useful. Actual options could be assessed for savings.
We have such positions in our organisation as part of the energy saving program. They are typically entry level engineering/science Jobs. Circa £27k max.

Exactly, that verbal cheapening coming from a hospital administration must be a bit of a worry, after all when everything is an ’emergency’ nothing is an emergency, when everything is a ‘crisis’ nothing is a crisis.
Trouble is the NHS is treated as a deity. The weekly ritual of applauding NHS workers is all very well but acts as a smokescreen for the serious errors made. This is particularly galling when you consider the major exercise held in 2016 to test the NHS preparedness for a pandemic. Operation Cygnus found glaring gaps which clearly were not addressed.
