Facebook Censor John Stossel
Well known US TV presenter John Stossel has problems with the new Facebook censors:
You may recall a similar occurrence earlier in the year, when a group called Friends of Science were also awarded a “Misleading” tag by Facebook, again purely based on fake advice from the same Climate Feedback group who have attempted to censor Stossel.
And FoS’ offence? Simply to repost an article by the Volunteer Firefighters which pointed out that the major factor in why Victoria’s bushfires at the time were so bad was poor management of national parks and the failure to reduce hazardous fuel loads and clear vegetation. Yes, you read it right – the firefighters, who know all about the realities on the ground, were deemed by a climate scientist not to know what they were talking about.
As FOS had reposted the firefighters article via my website, they were advised by Facebook that I should appeal to Climate Feedback. As with Stossel originally, I never even received a reply.
So a bunch of self elected “experts” are allowed to censor anybody who does not share their version of the truth. And there is no right to an independent appeal!
John Stossel mentions that Stefan Doerr is one of the “experts” at Climate Feedback, who decided his report was misleading. Doerr was also at the heart of the complaint against FOS.
Stossel also mentions Zeke Hausfather, who was heavily involved with the Berkeley Earth project. In recent years, he has been one of the main go-to guys for climate alarmists.
Both are so heavily into the propaganda side, that their objectiveness simply cannot be trusted. Needless to say, neither have any expertise whatsover with forestry or the science of wildfires.
It is bad enough that the likes of Doerr and Hausfather can set themsleves up as self appointed Guardians of the Truth. It is simply astonishing that Facebook should kowtow to them.

Those shady creatures are everywhere. On Quora, there is a guy named John L. Grantham who will ruthlessly pursue anyone who dares to disagree with him with the aim to get the person in question banned. Those people are like the Taliban and thats how hey should be treated.
Rudolf… I know that from personal experience. Grantham provides funds for the AAAS (a science organization that used to be politically neutral but no longer is). As a long time member and AAAS Fellow, I was banned from participating in discussions because of my skeptical comments on global warming. I dared to disagree. Follow the money??
My late father, a chemistry professor with his PhD from MIT, referred to AAAS as the American Association for the Assassination of Science.

Sorry, Athelstan, that “interview” stinks! I spent 30 years of my life interviewing, editing, and subbing, and that does not ring true. If it was genuine it was very, very heavily edited. No nurse I have ever known — and I had two aunts in that profession! — would have spoken in the way she did. That’s a propaganda piece, pure and simple.

In your ignorance you seem to be unaware yourself of the systemic problem with double blind trials. They are very expensive. Ergo a drugs company will for one with a drug they hope to make squillions out of, but nobody will pay for a trial of an established cheap drug that might work on a different condition. many hospital doctors are running trials of existing medicines . Dont need ‘Big Pharma’ to do that as the patients present themselves everyday. Nor is ‘double blind’ always necessary, for example would ‘placebo surgery’ ever be done ? The answer is very rarely.

There are lectures with references to peer reviewed medical literature from a doctor who is treating people on the ward and also teaching medical personnel. it is very interesting. Even the non biologists such as myself can follow the diagrams. It’s something to do during lockdowns and who knows what you may learn.?

Whenever a blind study seems to be showing that an unusual number of patients are responding to treatment, the study is exposed to see if it’s the drug that’s accomplishing that. If it is, it is no longer ethical to continue with placebos (where more people will have a bad outcome), and the drug is not withheld from those who were on placebo. So, for Fauci to insist on a double blind study, in the face of evidence that HCQ is of great benefit, tells me he’s on the wrong side of reality. I don’t want to speculate on the thinking that led him to be wrong, but it is obvious that he is wrong. Very very wrong.
Facebook began the day after the closing of Lifelog with the puppet, Zuckerberg at the helm. Lifelog was a product of DARPA Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency under the US Dept. of Defense). Basically, it is for information sweeping on individuals. Not nice.
However, FB like YouTube, Twitter, etc. are beginning to run afoul of the US Justice Dept. As they were “originally” a platform for putting out your thoughts w/o censorship except in some very specific cases (porn, etc.), they had special immunity from being sued as the individuals were responsible for what they posted and not these platforms.
Not surprising, the left has taken them over and do not want anything which they do not like to be put up and are shadow-banning, taking down, putting people in FB jail, etc. It is conservative and Christian postings in addition to others telling the truth. And, of course, it is about the election.
The Justice Department and Attorney General Bill Barr are telling them that when they begin to govern what people say they have become a publishing platform and as such can be sued by the individuals they harm. Let the games begin…….
When I was a member Facebook (it was useful for clubs, they use it to inform members) I changed my password regularly. Three of them still turn up in “we know you password” spam. Basefook’s policy on security seems to be that it’s cheaper to just not bother. I left when I came to that conclusion.
Let’s start a group “Defund those Denier Firemen” and get rid of their lies about what is causing the fires. Get some posters, some protest leaders and hit the streets. Zuckerberg will be proud. (Make it illegal for Zuck to have his own fire fighters and any other rich people. They should NOT be employing deniers.)
I’m with you Athelstan, there is an element of saving face for the government yet the number of deaths from CV19 is very low in my opinion. Having hit the vulnerable earlier it is infecting many more, apparently, but killing fewer and those fatality numbers seem dubious to say the least. Less than 4% of cases with an outcome are fatal and this number is falling daily. Better outcomes infers initial treatments were incorrect.
I’m of the opinion that we have a cabal who enjoy the unbridled power they now hold, with no checks and balances anywhere apart from a few on social media. Unfortunately Boris and his cohorts are not like Cincinnatus and so will be with us for the foreseeable future., God help us

Why it’s being suppressed demands an explanation!
One major “scam” or “conspiracy” is that of how and why the tech giants suppress information they think shouldn’t be public. Who are they do decide that?! That is vigilantism, and can legitimately be called those names. It is outrageous, not only that they are doing it, but are being allowed to.
