Personal Abuse Guidelines

I have received a number of complaints about the increasing number of abusive comments recently.
More often than not, they are gratuitous and have little or nothing to do with the post in hand. They also detract from most of the serious comments made by other contributors.
In future, all such comments will be blocked/deleted without further warning.
