Bob Ward In Bad Mood–Loses Again
By Paul Homewood
Apparently Bob Ward is in a bad mood again. The reason, as David Rose explains is that he has just lost three complaints to the press regulator, IPSO, one against the Mail and two against the Telegraph!!
https://twitter.com/DavidRoseUK/status/1324356115333849091
The Mail complaint concerned Rose’s article last year, which exposed the pack of lies in the BBC’s Attenborough programme on climate change. In particular, Attenborough’s claim that extreme weather events such as floods and storms have already got worse and more frequent, thanks to global warming, along with wildfires.
As I reported at the time, Attenborough’s claims were totally unfounded and contradicted the clear findings of the IPCC, which concluded that there was no evidence of any general increase in extreme weather events or wildfires.
In his usual rambling way, Ward objected to Rose’s analysis of this issue and other topics included in the programme, such as projected temperature increases, species extinction, corals and the claimed lack of action by the UK government.
On every single point however, IPSO found that Rose’s article was factually accurate, and sent Ward scurrying off with his tail between his legs.
Ward of course is used to losing complaints against the press, not least against the late Booker, who told me he had never lost a single case. But winning is not really Ward’s objective, Instead it is to tie up journalists such as David Rose and his editors in knots, creating much extra unpaid work, in the hope that it will discourage them from reporting on climate change in future.
In contrast of course, Ward gets well paid to by Jeremy Grantham to write his rambling complaints.
It is about time that IPSO refused to accept any more of Bob Ward’s poorly written bogus complaints, which waste their time as well.
The IPSO judgment can be read here..
I will have a look at the Telegraph complaints tomorrow.

A pro pos this sort of stuff and the BBC, thought you might like to see/comment on this?

Bob Ward is the Goebbels of the modern climate alarmism movement in the U.K. I dare say, when the s**t hits the fan, as the climate starts to cool over the next few decades, and his doom laden forecasts of us all suffering under a man made induced global warming cataclysm dissipate, I wonder whether he would be brave enough to follow the inspirational example of his obvious idol? Spare the wife and kids though please Bob!
He seems to have a bad case of climate derangement syndrome. Is there any cure?
A month camping at the South Pole?

Also the collapse of civilization the end of the world.
More about the Attenborough view of climate change.

David Bellamy told me, before he died, that he and Attenborough agreed that the CO2 scare was nonsense. Then Attenborough saw what that cost Bellamy. He suddenly ‘changed his mind’ I wonder why?
Good Lord! This is huge.Thank you for this information.
David Bellamy died on Wednesday according to his foundation, The Conservation Foundation. The nature broadcaster rose to fame in the 70’s but later was ridiculed for his controversial views on climate change. David Bellamy’s representative confirmed to Express.co.uk his cause of death was dementia.Dec 12, 2019
I used to enjoy reading Ward v Christopher Booker slogging it out in print; it looks like David Rose is now the Grantham Attack Dog’s bête noir.
Having just read the IPSO judgement in full I am impressed by the logical assessment made by IPSO. I am heartened that there is still one quango where reason and rational analysis is applied (unlike the Climate change Commisars). Full credit to the reviewer and author of the IPSO report.
As far as I can see from scanning the judgement the complainant was mostly accusing Rose of cherry picking and of course that is something these Alarmists would never do. The judgement itself has highlighted the Alarmists claims as being at the extremes of predictions from the IPCC mostly. It rather shows up what they are doing to be scaremongering pure and simple.
I do hope that Rose picks this up in the judgement and runs with a story along those lines. He sounds cute enough to do so and Ward may just have done enough to turn Rose in to a Brooker look-a-like. Certainly the judgement has stated the limits and freedoms of reporting so he will be in little doubt of his ground in future, Watch this space.
Some people might wonder why Jeremy Grantham employs Bob Ward to do this job, as he doesn’t seem to be very successful with his press complaints. I don’t know if Ward has ever won a complaint against the press.
My theory about why Grantham employs Ward to do this job is that his presence strongly inhibits Channel 4 from commissioning and broadcasting anti-Green documentaries. Channel 4 used to broadcast an anti-Green documentary about every five years or so. They broadcast a couple in the 1990s and continued to do so in the 00s decade with Martin Durkin’s “The Great Global Warming Swindle” documentary in 2007. Though Durkin was keen to make further anti-Green documentaries, Channel 4 was’t interested, and there has now been a 13 year drought of anti-Green material on Channel 4 (and they were the only channel that was broadcasting anti-Green material in the UK).
Durkin describes what seems to have been going on in this blog post:
https://web.archive.org/web/20150922060314/http://www.martindurkin.com/short-thoughts/kiss-goodbye-james-delingpole
The explanation Channel 4 gave Durkin was that his documentaries always attract a barrage of complaints, and the TV regulator OFCOM has a tendency to occasionally uphold a complaint (if only to make it look as though they are doing their job), and having a programme with an upheld complaint doesn’t look good on the CVs of the Channel 4 people who work on the documentary. So an aggressive complainer like Bob Ward could intimidate Channel 4 quite a bit.
