Russian Navy Shoots Bear – BBC Expresses Outrage!

This latest report from the BBC shows just how out of touch with reality they really are:
The Russian Navy has defended the shooting of a mother bear and its cub on a nuclear submarine following outrage among many social media users.
The navy says there was no other option after the animals climbed onto the vessel moored off the Vilyuchinsk base in the far-eastern Kamchatka region.
It says a hunting instructor was called in to "neutralise the wild animals".
Hundreds of social media users accused the navy of unnecessary cruelty after seeing a video of the shooting online.
"Animals!" and "The whole essence of Russia in one video" were some of the comments.
The footage was published on 8 November, although it is unclear when the shooting happened.
In the video, one of the animals is seen falling into the water after apparently being hit by a bullet.
A male voice in the video is heard saying the animals would have gone to local villages had they been driven away.
The bears, whose species was not disclosed, are believed to have swum across the bay to get onto the submarine for reasons unknown.
The Kamchatka peninsula is home to about 24,000 bears that can frequently be seen on local beaches.

My first question is just what relevance do “social media users” have to do with any of this?
What on earth do a handful of western, liberal do gooders know about the real world in Siberia. Maybe one of them could please tell me?
In the real world, of course, bears are not friendly Yogi and Boo Boo types. They eat people.
It is evident that brown bears, along with their white cousins, are more than abundant since our forefathers stopped shooting so many. So there is no concern about wiping out the species. On the contrary, bears are at the top of the feeding chain, and will carry on coming into conflict with humans, thus threatening local populations unless they are dealt with.
Would the wallies at the BBC rather see innocent Russian villagers killed, just to save a few bears?
They seem to have the attitude that the bears should be allowed to run free in their natural habitat, without interference from humans. Maybe someone should remind them that bears, wolves and sabre tooth tigers used to run free in Britain not too long ago as well!!

Thomas, the activists within the BBC are masters at promoting their opinions by proxy. The get out they have and they have used it with me is to plead innocence and say they are only reporting the research/opinions/ concerns of others blablabla. They do this constantly in respect of our favourite subject. Of course the fact that they only promote opinions from one side of a very poor argument without question or challenge does not phase them at all.

So they only invite guests whose views are aligned with those they wish to promote.
When you complain, they have no responsibility and there is no bias because the views were those of the guest, not the BBC. The BBC, of course, is unbiased.

The BBC picks and chooses whose outrage and in relation to what subjects it reports. A few 100 morons on social media get a mention but tens of thousands (maybe more) outraged about police actions on Rememberance Sunday are ignored.

What is ludicrous is the ever-increasing distortion of the Bible narrative. According to THAT, Adam and Eve were chucked out of Paradise for drinking the boss’s liquor. They were given the world, sort of in lieu of notice; but had to live by the sweat of the brow. Undeveloped and stony land! Somehow, the world has become the Paradise they were chucked INTO.
That was the reason I mentioned the story, they shot a Brown Bear, but the BBC veered the story off onto Polar Bears and climate change!

In the meantime, the dams are almost 100% full and water restrictions have all been lifted! That comes after winter rainfall that is only very slightly above historical average.
The automatic assumption that water shortages are solely due to climate change is ridiculous. The main reason, unsurprisingly, is the massive increase in population, wineries, farms etc and other consumers. “Day Zero” was largely caused by wastage and profligacy by consumers (current consumption is approximately half what it was) as well as political ³friction² between the National (ANC) and Provincial (DA) governments. Of course, if you simply allow populations to grow, wineries to increase, farms to expand etc, without taking measures to increase supply and storage, then you can expect more ³Day Zeros² – I don¹t need a research grant to figure that out!
The City of Cape Town is, however, taking steps to address the issue by continuing to focus on demand reduction and increasing supply through a number of measures including tapping of large aquifers and a large desalination plant, planned for 2025. This type of nonsense gives the whole climate change lobby a bad name!

These Woke fools on social media are simply hypersensitive to anything that they personally don’t like. They are narcissistic and solipsistic to a pathological degree. The only view that matters is their own, the only opinion that can be right is their own. The world must become as they want it. Now they are getting elected (OCS in the US is a typical example, somebody almost wholly ignorant in every way but utterly convinced she knows everything about everything) it is extremely worrying.

Ref your comment on wolves in Britain. Attempts to reintroduce them. There is a very good reason why they were eliminated. There simply is no place for such predators with our current population. I await with interest to hear of a fox in- home attack on a child in Bromley where the fox population is at ludicrous levels

I thought the BBC was saying, at least their pet conservationist was saying, polar bears were on the edge of extinction. 50 bears in one place seems like over population to me not extinction.
As the population of polar bears is thriving it’s no wonder to me that they are spreading inland as Susan Crawford has observed. They will be fighting for territory. In any case I didn’t think bears foraged in the sea.
Curious! Where did they get the photos from. The Russians would not have released them if they thought they were doing anything wrong. Its their territory and I’m sure they have long ago learnt what is right in their own land unlike the outraged who probably have never seen a bear outside a zoo and have never needed to manage a dangerous problem.
Its non news but a good way for the BBC to get CC in to a story once again.
I’m afraid that Big Brother has finally won, BB is now going to control the USA: we appear to be doomed to watch the fall of the western world in a couple of generations. Who will be the super-power next….. its not Russia!
The Chinese used biological warfare to send their virus over to the US where it quickly destroyed the booming economy that Trump created. The combination of a pandemic and a weak economy sent Mr. Biden to Washington again. The Chinese won, not the Democrats. And they will continue to do so. Russia will chime in. Hang on to your wallet.
But Attenborough omitted to mention the polar bears there when he filmed the walruses hauled out and plunging from a cliff. I personally helped Susan Crockford discover the truth by trawling through blogs from Siberia.

This fuss reminds me of the placing of the crocodiles of Oz under protection. As you’d expect, they’re spreading and making a nuisance of themselves.
Needless to say, I feel they should all be shot on sight as they were in the good old days.

About half way through, there are shots of walruses tumbling down the cliffs. The camera pans to the top of the cliff, where the white head of a polar bear can be seen peering over the top. Attenborough debunked.
