Daily Express Poll For Green Campaign

February 11, 2021

By Paul Homewood

There is by the way an Express poll on their new green campaign. Let’s see if we can get a few thousand votes against!

The questions give the appearance of being asked so as to confirm the Express viewpoint and make you feel guilty when answering them about having opposing views.

This so called survey conflates carbon (CO2) with pollution, which is a common falsehood.
    I’ve submitted my return nonetheless

    • February 11, 2021 3:04 pm

      That’s deliberate, I suspect!

Yes I agree and many are fooled.

Done and not at all guilty. Just offended to have my attention distracted by an article from some hysterical journalist who “was in tears” as there were no border checks when she arrived at LHR from South Africa!! Get a life.

A bit like an EU staged referendum — imposing guilt for having a brain thus controlling the outcome — or 1984.

Funny, though, there are no questions along the lines…. do you want to double the cost of heating your home…..or: do you mind paying out £20k plus for the compulsory heat pump – and the same again for insulation… or: are you happy paying huge carbon/green taxes on food, travel, etc., etc.
They suspect that the inevitable answers to them might not suit the agenda.

I’ve no doubt that with their very bland/neutral questions, they’ll be able to show a ‘majority’ in favour of this vicious campaign to destroy our living standards.
    Job done – magic!!!

Does the Editor know or care that the UK’s CO2 and other greenhouse gases amount to negligible as a proportion to the planet’s total and that the most come from China, India etc?

If the Ed. neither knows nor cares he/she should not hold the post.

    Hi Paul,

I was not able to vote in this survey, is there a link I can’t find?

Keep up the good and necessary work!

To be honest the Blue and Greenbelts are things that on the whole I am in general agreement with. But as these have been included in the survey that positive answers will be used as ammunition in the Express’ campaigns

I note there is an attempt to harvest email addresses.

Meanwhile, it appears that the Green Deal is in a state of collapse:

And they think they’re going to get us to spend £2 trillion on insulating our homes?

Global Warming is a big problem Up here on the West coast of Scotland it has been below zero for days with a vicious Easterly wind so it is COLD. Just waiting for some warming!

The basis of Boris Johnston’s Green movement Net Zero plan, – intended to impress on an inadequately educated gullible population through cleverly propagandised worldwide hysteria,- was that excessive release into the atmosphere of CO2 gas, essential for all plant life, – produces a greenhouse effect which is causing Global Warming.
Since the empirical evidence proved this untrue, its Global Warming mantra was then changed to Climate Change, but if CO2 is now proved not to cause any significant warming, the CO2’s Greenhouse Effect argument cannot logically be relevant any more.
How then exactly, can this CARBON DIOXIDE gas cause ‘Climate Change’ ? : The answer is that IT JUST DOES NOT ! since there cannot therefore be any Carbon Induced or Greenhouse Gas Induced Climate Emergency at all !
That the “Science is Settled” is purely a scam and is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on Mankind, so WHY does our entire energy policy’s function still revolve around removing CO2 emissions ?
Apart from Natural Variability in all my 78 years the climate has not changed, the leaves as always, are off the trees by end of November. Our summers are often mild and wet. Our winters are cold and wet with snow some years. Al Gore in 2007 said the Arctic would be Ice Free by 2014. It was said that polar bears would be extinct, Pacific islands would disappear. All this was Bullshit and didn’t happen.
Forgetting the distinctly likely possibility of Chinese world ambitions for us all, it is Incredible that America, Europe, and the UK have so naively swallowed the bondoogle being relentlessly propagandised into forsaking all the benefits of reliable fossil-fuelled energy which has served us so well for the last 300 years. Boris’s unreliable All Pain and No Gain expensive on a grand scale ‘Net Zero’ energy policy for absolutely nothing other than to dissipate the country’s resources, – will not even remotely “Save the Planet.

Yes, kudos for supporting the scientific method. It is also true to say that even though the climate has warmed by around 1C since that last low (end of the 70’s), it is not possible to notice due to the +15 to -15C change experienced on many days and certainly between seasons. Presumably the next 1C will be equally indiscernible, yet we are willing to piss away a nation’s wealth to pretend to change this. I wonder with the unusual (record?) cold of this winter will bring some folks around and sway the public opinion?

    • February 12, 2021 2:02 pm

      Fully agreed!
Can anyone explain why big business-e.g., oil firms, motor mfrs etc.- are following suit, despite evidently being run by hard-headed directors?
Could governmental pressure explain or something else.
After all, these policies, contrasting with those of China, India and so on, are obviously both financial and political deadly own-goals

What a ridiculous survey ‘Would you drive an electric car’ Well, yes, of course, if I could get anywhere near affording one!

Suggest that every important feature of IC engine cars is dearer, greener and superior to EVs,
which are a typical part of the AGW scam, misunderstanding and mass corruption.

      • February 11, 2021 6:29 pm

I withdraw my wrongly worded previous comment. Ment to say vehicles with IC engines are better in every way

To Ian above:just my thought of yesterday about “age” as well. But for me,the last two and a half months of cold are the longest I can recall. In 1947 my big sis and I built an igloo on the back lawn, but I cant remember how long that winter was.I was ten years old at the time, and the snow was higher than my welly boots.

    • February 12, 2021 6:42 am

I can only recall that is was snowing on 4th May 1947 in Guildford, the day I was born. So I was informed later!! 1963 was very cold as well. I rode my bike across the River Thames at Hampton Court!!

      • February 13, 2021 5:57 am

I remember the snow in 1947 (I was 10) in London lasted for weeks on the roadside, turning black with soot. In 1962/3 moved from London to Romney Marsh in Kent and had to wait weeks for the furniture vans to bring our furniture, held up by impassable roads blocked with snow.

Isn’t that a get you on a mailing list survey ?
it’s not a proper survey it’s only got six questions .
You could fill it in multiple times.. it asks you again every time you reopen the page
I suppose your email address goes straight to Dale Vince’s Ecotricity sales team

    Basically all the comments say
    ‘It’s population, stop letting in 300K immigrants/year’
