The problem is the millions who do watch TV and are gullibly brainwashed by the output. The challenge is reaching those people to open their eyes.
The point is made well enough to avoid the expletives – pity about those because they make you wonder about the veracity of the author.
Odd to question ‘the veracity of the author’, rather than the content which speaks for itself. I have been following his We Got A Problem shorts for a while and he always hits the nail on the head. I love the faux machine commentary. Yes, it’s coarse – often much worse than this one (you should hear what he calls Boris) – but lends a suitably derisory edge to the demolition of his targets. And perhaps it is suitable for his normal target audience.
It’s his style which makes him stand out from the crowd. He projects a “bloke in the pub” persona which obviously appeals to a sector of society which is fed up with being lectured to by people with a posh accent. I’m actually subscribed to him because he is impartial . He hates both sides equally.
ITV utterly laughable
I did not hear what this Lorraine woman actually said, but it is true that aerosol pollution was down because of the travel lockdown. It is the CO2 emissions that are supposed to be the chief pollutant, not exhaust aerosols. CO2 emissions were also down but the atmosphere didn’t notice it, nor could it captured in a photo. A new Mauna Loa record was made. This does not excuse any “fiddling”with the photos. It wasn’t necessary anyhow. And, of course, the economic devastation that the pandemic created is not exactly a billboard advertisement for further lower emissions as we recover from the pandemic.

This is because traffic is responsible for only a tiny amount of all emissions
But a lot of these facts were hidden by the MSM .
When a German Transport minister reported this on an online news channel , the program was made to disappear within 1 day .
And the CO2 in the atmosphere was not affected in the slightest by the huge reduction in flying & every other form of transport .
Because human produced CO2 is only a tiny part of the total ,the overall figure continued its slow natural rise .
But all of these facts do not fit in with the Green agenda , so they have to make up stories to try to fool people .
It’s probably more a case that they were duped by the person producing the pictures, and failed to carry out due diligence.
The eco-fruits were desperate to prove the lockdown cleansed the air. Air quality (emotional blackmail – you’re poisoning children with your car etc.) became a central pillar of their strategy a few years back when the climate change angle failed to get much traction.
As we know, aside from a few highly polluted industrial zones, there was slim evidence of improved air quality, even slimmer related to getting nearly all private cars off the roads in places like the UK. It in fact became clear other factors are far more important including natural sources and meteorology. Of all the commonly measured supposed air quality pollutants, only NO2 possibly declined in some places – but not dramatically.
Desperate times for the fanatics wanting to take us back to the stone age to save us from ourselves, they were expecting a major propaganda coup.
Of course much of the coverage from the BBC and other MSM desperately claimed a cleansing nonetheless, only slightly backtracking on PMs etc. belatedly.
Mr Grim (but not nasty)… With vehicle travel locked down there is little doubt that the air quality was cleaner and clearer because the exhaust aerosols were reduced in quantity and settled out. The cleaner air and clearer views were seen in many places, but maybe not all. CO2 cannot settle out. Nor can it be seen so we have invented CCS technology to attempt the impossible job of storing enough CO2 to affect the climate.
I/we looked extensively at the data from several of the UKs monitoring stations in major towns, even on main roads. Sorry, but your belief is largely wrong. The situation was as I said above.
I think there might be anecdotal Confirmation Bias going on
You notice that some days have no smog
and put it down to lockdown
And fail to realise that rain has just washed smog out.
This story is widespread from residents supposedly in India and Pakistan etc. posting pictures in awe at the cleansing.
I think what we are seeking is an orchestrated propaganda campaign.
The posting comments are all similar and the claim ludicrous – how would this be the first time they were visible in 30 years – clearly nonsense, no matter how bad the pollution was, under certain weather condition all the pollution would be cleared out for a while.
Of course these places do have horrendous pollution normally, ironically solvable with a modern fossil fuel powered electricity grid, and the ensuing economic prosperity that would allow them to buy modern ICE cars.

Nobody has claimed it was the first time in thirty years. The claim is it was the result of pandemic related travel lockdowns. Obviously, there are many times locally where weather clears out aerosols. The propaganda was trying to conflate the aerosol cleansing with CO2 cleansing. That is what is clearly ludicrous.
I’m referring to the claims cropping up on social media, lots of supposedly ‘independent’ post are indeed making exactly that claim.

That is not true cos on Twitter I spot 2 local residents saying in happened 20 odd years ago in 1998.
I think you need both the rain to clear the smog
and then the right cloud conditions to get visibility of the mountain.

but it is hardly conclusive. The weather can easily affect particulate levels, as we know when we get Sahara dust blown in on the winds: the air is cleared by a rainstorm.
When you read of the sources of particulates in Kathmandu it is not obvious that there should be a big diminution from lockdown. It seems we can conduct a live experiment:

For those that still need deprogramming after falling for the MSM story about the wonderfully cleansed air from the first lockdown, it was just the power of suggestion, and the coincidental arrival of an Arctic air mass that made it feel fresher.

Does anybody recognise the gentleman in the interview. The caption just says “Bristol”, and we don’t see moving images of the interview. In the short extract, the gentleman seems to be in the position of expert as he talks about “doing the science” and “nobody had seen that in living memory”, etc. Would be interesting to know who he is.

I wish people on both sides of the question would stop referring to CO2 as a “pollutant” – it isn’t. Its the source of all life. At the rate the rain forests are being destroyed I think we should drive towards 3000 ppm, nearly ten times today’s level but the same as the carboniferous era when the great forests thrived that became today’s coal deposits.
