Astonishing news from Sky Australia:

Tech giant YouTube has suspended Sky News Australia’s popular channel from the platform for a week following a review of old uploaded videos.

Sky News Australia has been temporarily suspended by YouTube following a review of old videos published to the channel.

The one-week suspension by YouTube follows a review of content for compliance with YouTube’s policies on COVID-19 which are subject to change in response to changes to global or local health authority guidance on the virus.

Sky News Australia acknowledges YouTube’s right to enforce its policies and looks forward to continuing to publish its popular news and analysis content back to its audience of 1.85 million YouTube subscribers shortly.

A Sky News Australia spokesperson said: “We support broad discussion and debate on a wide range of topics and perspectives which is vital to any democracy.

“We take our commitment to meeting editorial and community expectations seriously.”

YouTube responded to media requests mentioning its "denial of COVID-19" policies but it later dropped that reference in future media statements.

Sky News Australia expressly rejects that any host has ever denied the existence of COVID-19 as was implied, and no such videos were ever published or removed.

The Sky News Australia YouTube channel has published more than 20,000 videos over the past year.

With 1.85 million subscribers, ‘Sky News Australia’ on YouTube has 400,000 subscribers more than ABC News, and is more popular than all three of Australia’s commercial news network’s YouTube channels combined.

It was recently revealed that Sky News Australia has become one of the country’s most engaging news brands across multiple digital platforms and is reaching more than a third of all Australians each month.

They are trying very hard to…. Alan Jones is a class act, and other s seem to be encouraging him

Meanwhile, at the DT somebody seems awake. Nick Timothy is sounding alarm
for the damage of NetZero: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/08/01/net-zero-zealots-take-no-notice-hardship-haste-will-cause/. He still believes in “climate change” and has VERY naive ideas about the costs for the UK (1 trillion? Must be joking). Still, it’s maybe a start

Indeed Alan Jones is a class act and particularly effective when eviscerating Ms Thunberg’s hysterics and the neurotic govt. of NSW. . Tony Abbott was in Norfolk 8 days ago and agreed that Alan was a real asset to free expression when I said that in the UK we lacked anybody so effective — pace GB News.
I am not sure how best to impress this on You Tube.

Surprisingly also, given the general media blackout, the Telegraph, on Friday published this article by its Science Editor, Sarah Knapton, on alternative treatments (other than vaccines) for Covid, including mentioning the censored Ivermectin.

The significance of this for the US is that the use of these “vaccines” is only legally justified under Emergency Use Authorization if no other viable treatments exist. Those of us reading outside the MSM have long known that alternatives exist and have been widely and successfully used in some places.

Well he include the obligatory disclaimer:
“The world must take action against climate change – this is not in doubt.”
If he cannot even research the basics, why take seriously anything he says on anything?

Tim Stanley is another. He recently lauded Al Gore and after Jennifer Arcuri’s jaw-dropping interview on GBNews explaining just what is really going on, alluding to The Great Reset and the coming engineered financial crash and digital currency reset without actually saying so, rather than prick up his ears and investigate he condescendingly said that she was ‘madder than a box of frogs,’ when it was possibly the first ever genuine analysis to slip through media censorship.

I am inclined to believe this is all deliberate damage limitation.

David Wild, agreed about the D Tel and Nick Timothy, but his figure of £1 trillion was quoting Philip Hammond, ex-chancellor. Might just know a thing or two.
And note Janet Daley in the S Tel. Challenging Boris on the costs of changing from natural gas for heating and using EVs for transport.
If such people are querying the current policy, maybe the tide is turning…

Ken Thanks for comment. I just have this feeling that costs will actually be much higher. Have you heard of a government initiative that was within budget and on time? I haven’t
Encouraging, though, that people are, slowly, starting to challenge this ridiculous policy and its impacts

All the Treasury knows it what other departments tell it, and remember Hammond was giventhat estimate back when May was PM and she suddenly thrust net zero on the Commons without the slightest briefing on the costs and problems.. None of them have displayed any expertise or honesty about the cost, any more than happened over HS2. Any modest 8nvestigation of the assumptions being made by BEIS, the CCC, National Grid and MHCLG shows them to be wildly optimistic and infeasible. I’ve been looking at them. Have you?

Fear not. I agree with most of what you say. The ignorance displayed by our leaders in HMG is frightening, and the civil service plays along with it, when they should know better. Only comforting thought is that there will be a shift, once COP26 is over, and we can get back to reality…

Of course its censorship, but of the type that has been practised for generations. If the editor or owner of a newspaper doesnt like something its binned.
Skynews is the TV station that is also owned by News Corp
Remember the only censorship that isnt allowed is that by the Government although Australia has no constitutional provisions to even prevent that like UK they are many ‘exemptions’

Bitchute is the one I use most nowadays though it doesn’t always run smoothly. I also use Rumble, Gab and Odysee. Youtube is barely worth a glance these days and I’m not alone in my thinking. Many of those I followed have given up posting there and now have their own websites.

    • August 2, 2021 12:33 pm

@bobn There are de-centralised, federated and self hosted versions of:

      Peertube – Youtube
      Mastadon – Twitter
      Elements (by Matrix) – Discord

All require hosting on your own server or virtual instance. I’m running Peertube on a sub-domain (vid.rajeshtaylor.com).

Where Big Tech win is bandwidth costs. Google is a multi trillion dollar company able to offset their losses on Youtube. They just want your attention. The other issue is wide spread adoption. Though the strong growth of Telegram is a positive, though Elements is more secure.

Brett Weinstein’s recently demonetised Youtube channel is another instance of censorship. He had on the inventor of mRNA and discussed thoroughly the use case of Ivermectin. He is now uploading 2 minute trailer video’s on Youtube to send out notifications of livestreams, then streaming from Odysee, which has recently allowed tipping.

Not so fast, Sky News. It has been revealed that Big Tech has been cooperating with U.S. Democrats to control content on their so-called “platforms.”

Which means YouTube is a government agent, hence does NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO ENFORCE ITS SO-CALLED POLICIES.

There’s a very simple solution here.

Legislate that ALL broadcast content regulated by a nations TV broadcast regulator is automatically deemed acceptable for upload / broadcast on all social media platforms.

Australia’s TV broadcast rules should be deemed a higher broadcast authority than ANY private company’s T & C’s.

Censorship of any such already-regulated content should carry severe penalties.

There’s no longer the slightest doubt that SM platforms are politically active. That has to stop.

    Are these the Aussie regulators?

Sky News, by using Twitter, was part of the problem, not part of the solution.

The censorship problem has been very obvious for over one year.

There is no excuse for any conservative organization to be using Twitter or Facebook.
Shame on Sky News for supporting an enemy of free speech.

No conservative, Republican, libertarian, or anyone who really believes in free speech, should be using Facebook or Twitter.

I despise conservative organizations who use Facebook and Twitter, knowing they are fascist organizations that will eventually censor thoughts that do not match the Democrat / socialist party line.

I have never used Facebook or Twitter.
I will never use Facebook or Twitter
And I have a happy life without them.

Key line in the SkyNews article
YouTube responded to media requests mentioning its “denial of COVID-19” policies but it later dropped that reference in future media statements.
Sky News Australia expressly rejects that any host has ever denied the existence of COVID-19 as was implied, and no such videos were ever published or removed.

I suspect some lefty front group like the CCDH has been compiling dossiers and reporting people
It could be the ABC reported them

Context : SkyNewsAust is at war with the ABC especially its superbiased Mediawatch show fronted by Paul Barry.
.. On Youtube SkyNews is 30% bigger than the ABC

2 weeks ago the ABC ran this
“Misleading vaccine information broadcast on Sky News | Media Watch”
    .. segment start https://youtu.be/Df1Fnw2M6f4?t=339
    runs for 10 minutes
Sky News forced to correct the record after Alan Jones and Craig Kelly broadcast misleading information about COVID-19, vaccination safety and the Delta strain.

    New long item from @SkyNewsAust
In the case of Sky News Australia’s now removed content, most of it dates back to the same year Fauci made those comments.

But YouTube is looking at the debates and discussions through the lens of contemporary health advice.

Another issue is that YouTube’s approach to policing debate around COVID-19 policies appears arbitrarily focused against conservative voices.

I am yet to be informed of President Joe Biden’s YouTube and Facebook ban after uttering this false sentence: “You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.”

The real tragedy of covid press censorship is that people who have been genuinely harmed by the “authorised for emergency use” vaccines have an uphill battle in getting any recognition.
This compounds the errors and uncertainties in the science and it is now too late to prevent harm occurring, a tragedy unfolds.
The European medicines agency publish regular safety updates for the vaccines, the latest EMA AstraZeneca safety bulletin reads like an anti vaxxer script, but the UK celebrates success and heaps honours on those responsible.
I have had 2 doses of the AZ vaccine, but I did know there is a real risk of harm, and thought seriously about the risk/benefit.

This is almost certainly because they mentioned Ivermectin as treatment for Covid 19.

Uttar Pradesh in India continues to achieve success with Ivermectin.
From a peak in May 2021 of new cases exceeding 30,000 and deaths of over 350 we find for Aug 1
    Deaths 7, with a 7 day average 2
    New cases 31 with a 7 day average 46

This is from a population of 240 million with a fully vaccinated rate of less than 2 percent.
Compare this with the UK figures but our government ignores it.
    Why?
    Ask your MP why.
It’s one of the safest drugs around and to date in excess of 3.5 billion doses have been administered in some of the poorest countries in the world for diseases such as river blindness

    We know it’s safe as the UK chief medical officer co authored a paper stating;

And just in case you think Ivermectin is dangerous, in the words of the UK chief Medical Officer.
“Ivermectin has a wide antiparasitic activity with long veterinary use When ivermectin’s activity against Onchocerca volvulus was discovered, it was licensed for human use and was used in mass drug administration programs to control river blindness; it was administered to >80 million adults and children.
The drug has proven to be safe. Doses up to 10 times the approved limit are well tolerated by healthy volunteers Adverse reactions are few and usually mild”

Thats utterly false -‘This is almost certainly because they mentioned Ivermectin as treatment for Covid 19.’

It was their second strike as they were warned last December
“Jones claimed that COVID-19 was not by definition a pandemic due the number of deaths globally and that the death toll in India was not as bad as what the news had made out.

Sky News decides whats on and whats allowed on its shows, same goes for Youtube.
