There is one interesting segment where she says that you can “convert” diesel cars to electric for £5000. Talk about potty!

It seems to me a given that the aim of XR is to bring down the government by disrupting society and has nothing whatsoever to do with so-called climate change.
It’s increasingly blatant. The loudest “supporters” of climate activism are the biggest hypocrites of all. It really is stunningly surprising that we are still falling for this scam.
We?
Not us lot! we seem to me to be the only people with our eys open, but I am at a loss as to how and why the wider population seems to be going along with it all. I try to talk to as many people as I can and it seems that most older folks either are not aware of the battle ahead or they dont care and many yonger people arel all for change so perhaps things will change regardless of the stupidity of politicians and the greed of the various vested interests.
Just as described, we get exactly what it says on the tin; middle class hypocrites lecturing others to do what they refuse to do themselves.
And yes, most of them do need a good wash because they dress down to disguise their hypocrisy. Many of them are older either contributing to their pensions invested in fossil fuels or retired and living off their fossil fuel invested pensions.
And we note, yet again, the ‘hands off’ approach by the police when those protesting lockdown are lockedup.
Quelle surprise
Placement propaganda in soaps.

So she was smashing up a diesel van with a crowbar – talk about lame.
Shame that they don’t say that asthma is far more likely to be a result of over-cleanliness in early life, or her soft furnishing choices, or a cat. And that city air has probably never been cleaner in modern history.
TBF modern adblue diseasels are quite clean. Petrol is still cleaner.
Not to XR though. They are all destroying the planet by affecting the climate.
And LPG cars even cleaner. And you CAN convert to LPG easily and cheaply from a petrol vehicle
CNG is a bit more difficult because of the tank size, but it’s doable. We could cut our carbon footprint by extending the gas grid which would ensure lots of new gas boilers instead of oil. HGVs, buses, boats etc on CNG from our own resources.
Why do we have a suicidal government?

If a doctor of microbiology, which must be a fairly good paying profession, can’t afford an electric car, if you believe what this lady says, what does that say about how the rest of us will fare?
If she is so dedicated to the aims of XR surely she would pull out all the stops to change her car and her lifestyle. Hard luck on the kids having to give up the rugby and football on a Sunday but we all have to make sacrifices to save the planet…………….or maybe not.
Odd how she can mange to take a “holiday” to Costa Rica to take hallucinogenic drugs that are illegal in the UK. She openly admits these to be for the purposes of “opening her mind” and not any otherwise medicinal purposes. But somehow she can only “afford” to run an aging diesel which she “believes” can be converted to an EV for just £5000.
She is a lying, obnoxious, evil witch who should be imprisoned.
Attention-seeking useful idiots. That’s the best I can say about these clowns.
Hopefully these idiots will go extinct – it can’t happen soon enough.
I guess XR mob are used to very soft interviews from BBC and Islington MSM
so the minute someone asks proper questions they fall apart.
I suppose you could put your old car on the back of a milk float
and then if the float charge runs low, start your car engine to recharge it

👍🏻
Just what was this mysterious condition Bradbrook had which forced her to fly 11,000 miles to Costa Rica because treatment isn’t available in the UK?
I’m quite certain there are countries far closer than Costa Rica where she could have obtained what drugs she wanted.
It’s also interesting that, unlike the rest of us, this is a non recurring condition requiring no follow up treatment, presumably not terribly serious then……..
And I’m prepared to bet good money that had she gone to the streets she could have found whatever drug she wanted rather than spending £5,000 flying to and paying for accommodation on a tropical island.
Perhaps she could have put that £5,000 towards a virtue signalling electric car to replace, what must be by now, an older, badly polluting diesel car.
If what I hear is true, not on the BBC so might be true, she went to Costa Rica for brain transplant. Being only a poor Dr of microbiology though she was only able to afford a half formed one which might explain a lot.
👍
HotScot, whatever the treatment I’m certain it had nothing to do with Costa Rica’s agreeably sunny eco-economy.
Nor would Costa Rica’s lovely beaches or luxuriant 5 star jungle lodge hideaway’s have had any influence on her clinical needs. Oh no no no no no.
” In 2016, she went on a psychedelic retreat to Costa Rica, “where she took ayahuasca, iboga and kambo, in search of some clarity in her work.” From Wiki whatever
So she is a friggin dope head…what a surprise.
Sarcasm and jokes apart, this sort of thing is very worrying. This truly insane cretin has actually gone through the UK higher education system to level 8. Personally I feel she should be convicted of crimes against the state and for being as thick as sh1t.
The government and MSM repeatedly deploy scaremongering tactics on the dangers of assumed CC. Words like “climate emergency” and “breakdown”.
Most people will ignore it as they don’t see it on their doorsteps. So long as the scaremongering costs them little or nothing, they will get on with their lives.
Some people will become depressed by the scaremongering and feelings of hopelessness as the future seems uncertain.
And there will always be some who are scared enough to really want to do something about it. Bot not all of them will settle by compliance – a part of this cohort will respond with protest and disobedience.
I’d like to alter what I said above as the government and MSM are not alone. Academia deserves to take its place among the list of scaremongers.
The following is an example from Edinburgh University. The quality of argument is shockingly poor.
I remember, a couple of years ago, watching little of a BBC programme about one of THE XR leaders travelling around organising local groups – all done in a clapped out old vauxhall – never once using public transport!
Typical loony hypocrite.
Some might describe that interview as a train crash. It should have been a public transport crash, or maybe a bicycle crash. I would prefer to call it a diesel car crash.
What sort of idiot thinks they can convert their diesel car to electric for £5,000? Or even convert a diesel car to electric at all?
The fact that she clearly believes this nonsense demonstrates how unhinged, misinformed and out of touch with the real world she is. She is completely unaware she is spouting utter nonsense. No wonder she believes all the Global Warming crap.
XR. Gullible fools.
Maybe she meant you can convert diesel car drivers to EV drivers for £5000 in subsidies 😂
Or maybe not.
I don’t think she believes any of it, but it’s a good money spinner.
The usual greeny lefty hypocrisy.
BTW, did anyone watch Roger Allam, another XR “leader” confirm he was a holocaust denier on GBTV?
What sort of loonies are leading these loonies?
I recently watched a fascinating prog on TV about the rise of Nazism in the 1930s: it was clear that part of their achieving cult popularity relied on silencing any (all) opposition. The Climate-Change-cult bodies have almost achieved this apart from the web and GB News: both are in their sights!
I think that there is a difference in that the vast majority do not really believe it, especially when it comes to paying directly for the climate lunacy. 1930s Germany was struggling with the Weimar Republic, raging inflation and other problems that made Hitler appear an appealing alternative. There is nothing appealing about XR and their fellow communist activists.
In December 2019 Dr. Bradbrook was taken to the Crown Court for criminal damage:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7789321/Extinction-Rebellion-founder-denies-causing-27-500-damage-Department-Transport.html
Anyone know what happened? For some reason I can’t find coverage of the outcome.
@Jit:
From your link
“An Extinction Rebellion co-founder today denied causing £27,500 of damage to the Department for Transport and said the British legal system is ‘on its knees’.”
How sodding ironic.
Isn’t this part of the plan? Get arrested and tie-up the courts? According to the DT this morning there were eight arrests yesterday. If they plan two weeks of this behaviour that makes 14 days x 8 arrests a day = 112. That’s a lot of cases to clutter up the courts with.
@Barbara.
112 arrests over a week is nothing for the MET. Bearing in mind the offences are usually minor so it’s just a case of removing them from the locus, processing them at a police office, before waiting for a few hours until their identities are verified by which time the days protests are over. Then they are kicked out with a summons pending.
The problem for these morons is that they might wait for a year or two before their case comes up, and in that time on every job application/credit agreement etc. they will have to declare a pending criminal case.
It doesn’t take long for these hard boiled cabbages to figure out that mass incarceration isn’t such a bright idea. That’s why there’s only 8 of the no hope, hard core, grubby greens arrested.
Useful idiots to the ’cause’.
It occurs to me that identifying hypocrisy is a very reliable way of identifying who the baddies are. Thomas Payne nailed it a couple of hundred years ago.
“It is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may so express it, that mental lying has produced in society. When a man has so far corrupted and prostituted the chastity of his mind, as to subscribe his professional belief to things he does not believe, he has prepared himself for the commission of every other crime.”
Yes Gail, he is talking about you.
Gail is working for Soros.
Is Soros working for The Great Reset ?
For a long time. After Copenhagen, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, commissioned a “High Level” advisory group to look into the issue of Climate Change Financing. Their report was released three weeks before the Cancun Climate Conference. The chairman was the current head of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg. Amongst its members were the afore mentioned George Soros, Lord Stern, Chris Huhne and at that time French Finance Minister, Christine Lagarde, later head of the IMF and now head of the EDF.

Soros actively funded the anti-Brexit organisation, Best for Britain, chaired by Lord Malloch-Brown, who used to work for Soros. Malloch-Brown is Co-chair of the International Crisis Group, Soros and his son Alexander are on the Board of Trustees. Lord M-B is also the chairman of the parent company of one of the voting machine companies in the US election, Smartmatic. https://www.biometricupdate.com/201411/smartmatic-spins-off-new-parent-company-sgo-with-british-lord
Personally I see nothing wrong with electric vehicles, or ones with internal combustion engines. However I love steam engines.

“Big surprise, XR has been part-funded by the J. Paul Getty oil heirs’ $US5 billion wealth. The Getty’s Climate Emergency Fund has given $US600,000 to XR and one of the Getty heir’s websites touts XR’s work: “The only way to force a change is to disrupt the status quo through legal, non-violent direct action.”
XR’s UK finance director, Andrew Medhurst, oversaw a UK inflow of £2.6m of general donations last year. He discloses that many XR agitators are mercenaries on the XR payroll. Co-founder Roger Hallam gets £400 a week, and XR agitators get various fractions of that.
The other UK founder in 2018 was Gail Bradbrook, who met up with Hallam like this: In 2016 she travelled to Costa Rica “seeking a ‘mystical’ transformative experience to draw her out of a personal and political impasse. While tripping on ayahuasca, peyote, and other powerful psychedelics, the environmentalist prayed for the ‘codes for social change.’
Her prayer was answered when, upon returning to the UK, she met Roger Hallam, a 53-year-old organic farmer-turned-civil disobedience expert, at King’s College London. Among his writings were “Escape from the Neoliberal Higher Education Prison: A Proposal for a New Digital Communist University.”
Gail Bradbrook, is an adult version of Greta Thunberg, spouting pure weirdness. In a speech sponsored by HSBC Bank, she began,
“I am speaking to you as a rebel, as a mother, and more than anything, a mother of life on earth … [School strikers] are not protesting, they are begging. Begging for their lives …
We are f***ed. Humanity is f***ed. It [climate] is a disaster of Biblical proportions. We have to let in that feeling of grief. This is a feminine peace for all of us, men, women and other genders, to feel the grief …”

“Gail epitomises the new generation of ‘professional activists’, having positioned herself at the epicentre of the revolving door between big business, government bureaucracies and establishment-friendly NGOs, campaign groups and charitable organisations, all of which increasingly function as the public face of international corporate and financial power.
The fact of the matter is, Dr Gail Bradbrook is one of the UK State’s go-to ‘experts’, chosen to give (the right kind of) evidence at various parliamentary hearings and committees…

The session tests whether the CCC’s net zero advice, and the draft net zero legislation laid by the Prime Minister, go far enough to fulfil the UK’s commitments under the Paris Agreement and to protect our environment for current and future generations. It also scrutinises the rationale for, and feasibility of, alternative targets proposed by environmental organisations.

“you can convert a diesel car to electric for £5,000”. Has she done it, has she heck.
What’s that thing, all for one and all for me,something like that.
So what, I drive a diesel, an E-class estate car with a 3.2 litre lump. Seldom returns under 40MPG and almost 60! MPG at 60MPH. I’ll stick with it now, as it’s done over 245,000miles, and it’ll see me out. Engines often top HALF A MILLION MILES, About as gween as one can get.
