“We do not believe any group of men adequate enough or wise enough to operate without scrutiny or without criticism. We know that the only way to avoid error is to detect it, that the only way to detect it is to be free to inquire. We know that in secrecy error undetected will flourish and subvert”. – J Robert Oppenheimer.
Assume that this is a response to the WMO press release that climate damage is increasing rapidly. The release is based purely on monetary considerations I believe. If so, why are the WMO even commenting as insurance claims are not climate related but wealth related.
Simply because the data supports their ‘climate emergency’ claim and they know there will be no journalistic investigation of the increase in shoe-line properties that can now be damaged by hurricanes.
I think you’re confusing “fossil” with the Latin word that it is derived from, “fossilis”. Fossilis means “something that has been dug up”.
In English, “fossil” means “the remains or impression of a prehistoric plant or animal embedded in rock and preserved in petrified form”. Fossil fuel would therefore be a fuel that is believed to have originally been a prehistoric plant or animal.
I shall never forget Thumberg looking directly at the camera and snarling “people are dying” [as a result of climate change}. Clearly fewer of them. DIshonest or what?
Even more hysterical, and scripted, than dishonest.
Maybe her scriptwriters are the more dishonest party.
However, her fame/notoriety/parent’s bankroll are enhanced by such memorable quotes.
You are all trying to introduce logic, where none can be found.
This is human belief, we believe in the supernatural and fairies at the bottom of your garden given the right circumstances.
Fossil fuels is a misnomer the hydrocarbons have always been here, found throughout the solar system, on planet earth life has recycled them a few times.
It is now about 18 months since the world went into Pandemic Lockdown .
A massive reduction in flying and leisure travel , and an 80% reduction in traffic over a lot of the world
In end result has been no change to atmospheric CO2 levels , which have continued their natural slow climb .
This is because the amount of CO2 produced by transport/, people etc is so small as to be insignificant .
It does make you wonder if the idea of the lockdown was partly to show how to reduce CO2 emissions . If so it failed completely , & proved that EVs etc are a very expensive waste of time
‘they’ve taken a dangerous climate and made it safe’
Example: 90 years ago, the world had 50,000,000 acres of wild fires a year. The introduction of the internal combustion engine gave Man the mobility to fight the fires, and better manage the land, resulting in an 80% decrease in wild fire destruction.
The argument also works with Global Greening, and the notion of plant starvation when the atmospheric CO2 drops below a certain level, not far below what it was in the nirvana that was the pre-industrial cold times.
If only there were an underground fuel that could be extracted with no impact on surface ecology, and whose burning would enrich plant growth.
Well… it is possible to set Plutonium on fire, and it has happened, but that’s not an ideal source of carbon dioxide. However, it makes damn fine electricity, hurricane or no hurricane.

Don’t call them “fossil fuels”. They’re not.
Agree:
FOSSIL LITHIUM – STEAM-POWERED CARS
FOSSIL COBALT – DITTO
FOSSIL PLATINUM – CAT CONVERTERS
FOSSIL WATER – OOPS!
FOSSIL LIMESTONE – CONCRETE TURBINE BASES
FOSSIL BAUXITE – TRAINS AND BOATS AND PLANES
FOSSIL URANIUM – THE NUCLEAR BUSINESS
FOSSIL IRON ORE – WIND TURBINES
FOSSIL SAND – MORE CONCRETE FOR NUCLEAR INDUSTRY
FOSSIL CLAY
FOSSIL SALT
FOSSIL GYPSUM
ETC ETC ETC
FOSSIL FUELS AND RESOURCES ARE THE NORMS.

“…originally been a prehistoric plant or animal…”
That IS the belief of most scientists, taken in with their mother’s milk and hardly ever questioned.

Hallelujah!
Democrats say real lockdown hasn’t been tried yet.

Hmmm… fossil uranium. Got a good beat. Easy to dance to… I like it!
Does this count as fossil uranium?
