October 12, 2021

By Paul Homewood

.

“The science is not settled”: Irish climate scientist Professor Ray Bates speaks out against the mainstream narrative on climate alarmism, arguing that climate science has become “politicised.”

Prof. Bates, who received his PhD in Meteorology from MIT, has been employed as Prof. of Meteorology at the Niels Bohr Institute in University of Copenhagen. He was a senior scientist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and worked with MET Eireann.

Only a shyster would say that the science is settled. Well that’s what politicians have been telling us for years, so no need to say more.

Well said, but will have no effect upon policy. When Joe Public realise that “net-zero” is silly expensive, unreliable, and is placing UK at a disadvantage…then policy will change.
A most unfortunate piece of fluff…

Does anyone know who advise(s) the UK government and the Scottish “government now?

(Apart from the PM’s wife or Prof. Neil Ferguson, a proven ultra pessimistic modeller)

Public opinion on decarbonisation has Ben wished on us by the real extremists, just as in the Nazi Germany of the 1930s public opinion largely favoured Nazi policies and, ultimately, war.

The Royal Society has allowed itself to abandon its motto, “Nullius in verba”, or Take no one’s word for it, to its scientific shame.

The received opinions on AGW are quite unwarranted by the scientific evidence, which is dependent only on unreliable computer models, dishonestly formulated and so misleading.

(As for showbiz supporters of the Greta Thunberg myths, from Attenborough via Chris Packham to HRH Prince Charles, their opinions are of no substance and must be ignored.)

Professor Bates is henceforth cancelled. What he said was true but he shyed away from getting down and dirty with the data manipulation of what is really a scam.

He didn’t work in the same department as Hansen so why would he? How do you know he held the same views back then 1985-95 or thereabouts? But no you just tried to make a clever dick comment

In future I’ll try not to have opinions without clarifying the exact dates, times, references, phone numbers and DNA samples of the objects/people I’m referring to. Even though that approach is not always welcome on a blog.

The Goddard Space Institute was on of the main proponents of the AGW bad joke, did he speak out when James Hansen was his boss???

The saying “All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to stay silent” is a good one IMHO

He touches on the “Red Alert” in the beginning of the interview. I still stay “Red Alert” is a very appropriate descriptor of the IPCC report but in the context of politics and Watermelons; Green on the outside and red on the inside.

What, he’s only just noticed? Respect to him for sticking his head above the parapet and speaking out but the subject was politicised when the IPPC was first established decades ago.

Sad news on freedom of speech – Peter Ridd has lost his appeal against censorship by James Cook University on the grounds that his work contract allowed them to do it.

As he states, the plus side is that it has brought this matter of university censorship into the open and seen some positive legislation to start to address this.

Some day, I hope, there will be a reckoning with all the climate crooks. I hope but I don’t expect.
