Figueres: First time the world economy is transformed intentionally

October 21, 2021

As we near COP26, it’s time to recall what Christina Figueres told the world in 2015 prior to the Paris Climate Conference:

3 February 2015 – The Top UN Climate Change Official is optimistic that a new international treaty will be adopted at Paris Climate Change conference at the end of the year. However the official, Christiana Figueres, the Executive Secretary of UNFCCC,  warns that the fight against climate change is a process and that the necessary transformation of the world economy will not be decided at one conference or in one agreement.

"This is  probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history", Ms Figueres stated at a press conference in Brussels.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 – you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. It is a process, because of the depth of the transformation."

Let’s not forget that the ‘Build Back Better’ slogan is a piece of brainwashing from the World Economic Forum. The fact that so many of the World’s leaders have fallen in behind it and keep quoting it is testimony not only to their own lack of intellectual individualism but to their belief that they are working for a cause. Albeit, a lost cause.
But what strikes me as so obscene is that these politicians, having lived high on the hog for all their lives, will die before any of their chickens come home to roost (once their meat content has been taxed to reduce ‘carbon’ (DT today)).

So who voted for a full on Socialist world model with increased poverty for all? You didnt put that in your manifesto chairman Bozo the clown.

I believe the industrial revolution happened about the right time and in the right place thanks.

What really seems in need of reduction are the self serving politicians. There’s far too many and not enough farm labourers.
    Perhaps there’s a solution there somewhere ?

For example, the narrsistic mayor in these parts has started talking of climate CATASTROPHE !

They keep coming out with these cliches. Soon they will move on to alarmist words beginning with the letter ‘D’, having rifled through their dictionaries and run out of all the scary ‘C’ words.
Having just returned from a brief ‘mayor’s meeting’ in the USA, where they probably swap such scams ! And compare bulging bank accounts.

By the way – thanks for this blog Paul.
It blows my mind with its profound knowledge, great wisdom while simultaneously splitting my side’s due to uncontrollable laughter.
    Fantastic !

I’m an atheist but “Heaven help us”
With all this rubbish going on I’m so glad I’m in my late 70s.
Fortunately my children and grandchildren know how to look after themselves.

Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, is the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference.
So, not only are they clueless about the FACTS and real science,
They don’t have a clue about how acronyms work. It should be:

Give me an hour and I’ll come up with something more creative and insulting after the caffeine kicks in.

Is Climate Change Happening? . . . Yes!

Is pollution making things worse? . . . Yes!

    Is Man-Made CO2 causing Climate Change? . . . No!

Scientifically, it looks like it is. When increased CO2 from Nature from melting Glaciers and melting permafrost is not added to the total . . . Man’s contribution LOOKS way worse than it actually is !

Thousands of research papers and the Scientists who have written them, all agree that CO2 in the atmosphere from burning Fossil Fuels is causing Climate Change.

But when you look at the history of Nature, Planet Earth is returning to ‘The Norm of Warm’ since 1750. 17 cycles of warming and cooling have happened in the last 10,000 . . . Take a close look . . . in 500 year cycles . . .

I do not look to discredit the thousands of scientists who point to CO2 as the cause for Climate Change. What I want to discuss is how humanity has failed to clean up the pollution attached to CO2 when Fossil Fuels are burned. A Global Travesty unfolding before our very eyes. A calamity brought upon us by this unbridled fetish with CO2. Our focus must become the pollution attached to CO2 when we burn Fossil Fuels of all kinds.

The technology to remove what causes smog and poisons the air we breathe, has been there for 30 to 40 years. We must learn to spend money to clean up the environment of our planet now.

What is attached to CO2 is killing us! What is attached to CO2 is easy to remove! The smog, the Sulphur Dioxide, the Ash . . .

This, Ladies and Gentlemen is a modern catastrophe!

Everything we have done in the Western ‘Evolved Nations’ that ‘appears’ to clean up the world we live in, has quite simply ‘moved the problem’ somewhere else in the world like China. Nothing – Nothing has been done to remove pollution by installing scrubbers and catalytic precipitators. Instead, G20 nations obsess with appearances. Ignorance of Science has our leaders of the world enacting policies that ‘Appear Logical’ but are fatally flawed.

Coal Fired Power Plants are Bad – OH – With Scrubbers and Catalytic Precipitators – same as Natural Gas . . .

Gas fired Power Plants are Good . . . OH . . . They still produce CO2 like Coal Plants with Scrubbers and Catalytic Precipitators installed.

Human nature requires that we all be a part of the solution.

We ALL want to clean up the World. Only fools would object or denounce efforts to save the planet from harm!

That said . . . Actions in the absence of common sense and in the absence of Sound Scientific research is a recipe for disaster.

#1 ALL electricity is poison for Planet Earth! But hey . . . it looks so clean – where we use it.

#2 Wind Turbines and Solar Panels look like great solutions until we look at what goes into building them and how much CO2 is burned there.

#3 Electric cars waste up to 31% of the electricity produced before the wheels ever turn. This happens in transmission and charging.

    #4 All ’Bio-Fuels’ are Man-Made Fossil Fuels.

#5 There is NO such thing as ‘Clean-Green’ energy!

#6 Decarbonization is a fancy word that sounds good. It is Nothing more than “Shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic”. Everybody is so busy shuffling chairs they can’t see that the ship is still sinking.

Meanwhile Third World Countries are eating our lunch – processing and producing everything we used to . . . while they are Polluting the World for us . . . But we look soo good.

    Here endith the lesson !

        The G-20 Countries – CO2

A lowest common denominator evaluation – How big is your Country?
        How much do you pollute?

        Rank Country Tones CO2 / KM2
        1 The Netherlands 5,143
        2 South Korea 5,119
        3 Japan 3,196
        4 Germany 2,202
        5 United Kingdom 2,152
        6 Italy 1,477
        7 India 1,087
        8 Switzerland 978
        9 China 741
        10 France 693
        11 Spain 653
        12 USA 600
        13 Turkey 368
        14 Mexico 241
        15 Indonesia 212
        16 Saudi Arabia 201
        17 Russia 100
        18 Canada 54
        19 Australia 51
        20 Brazil 46

This is what happens when we put a Common Denominator into Numbers, Beyond totals.

        Interesting Eh ?

I notice that that well-known climate scientist,Tony Bliar, said at lunchtime that everybody can see climate change happening all around them.. I have’t seen any in my 70+ years.
