Miliband Wants To Stop Domestic Flights

Ed Miliband wants domestic flights stopped “as much as we can”:

As is typical, his answer is to spend billions of taxpayers’ money on things they don’t want.

Notice he says “as much as we can”. Because, of course, there are some people who really need to fly:

The idiot Miliband was not always opposed to flying. Back in 2009, he promised air travel was fine for the masses:

Miliband’s policy would of course leading to the loss of thousands of jobs. Only a year ago, Labour were complaining about the collapse of Flybe, that they said the government should have done “something” about:

So maybe Mr Two-Face Miliband might care to explain!

It’s more like – IMO – that we have to do what HE is told to tell us. There is too much joined-up nudging and pushing for this to be just Miliband’s idea. They’ve all been given their orders. The WEF must prevail – or bang goes his use of private jets etc.

That’s a good line for him to push on the day when rail problems are stopping a lot of people from travelling to Scotland.
Given the warnings about SLR affecting Glasgow airport maybe he should campaign for the return of flying boats!!

This, according to our future king, being the week when we are in the last chance saloon to tackle climate change (you know, the last chance saloon that Charlie entered in Copenhagen in 2009), hopefully, when the Glasgow jamboree calls last orders with utter failure yet again, the climate cult can just trot off into the sunset and leave us all alone. The idiocy and hypocracy of these eco pharisees, as typified by the millionaire socialist Milliband and HRH, is almost breathtaking to behold, a fact not going unnoticed by the great unwashed I suspect.

And it goes without saying, the numbskull hasn’t actually thought through the consequences of his ‘idea’. Why do we still give airtime to these people??

Ed Miliband is the another Macroniste when it comes to domestic flying.

A recent report about flying on a commercial airline from London to Glasgow came to the conclusion that the time difference compared with the railway was negligible. The ‘test’ trip was from Piccadilly Circus ( London) via Luton Airport .
For entitled persons however flying by private jet does have special advantages: boosts self esteem ,confers privacy, achieves convenience and the avoidance of large airports with their time consuming procedures.

I recall my father travelled from New York to Hartford, Connecticut by train. He said goodbye to his group at the front of the hotel as they took a taxi to the airport, picked up his bag and walked over the road to Grand Central Station and caught the train.
At the end he left the station and the hotel they were booked into was just across the road. He unpacked his bag and came cownstairs just in time to greet the others arrival.
That was in 1956. His reason for the train was to see the Fall colours of the trees.
In those days most established hotels were in the city centre and very near the railway stations.
The train was slower but there wasn’t the time to travel to & from the airport nor the wait for boarding or baggage return.

I can’t wait for FLOP26 to be over and then the hypocrites can all jet off out of here and send their huge limousines to be recycled.

Phillip, I’ll lay odds that, although it’s scheduled to end on Nov 12th, it will still be going on into the small hours of the13th (maybe even longer), just like these jamborees always do.

My house and 70 others will be flooded if climate change predictions come true.

However whilst Milliband and Boris pour countless billions into net zero reduction of emissions, the cost of increasing the size of a culvert £50k is apparently unaffordable.

I heard that earlier on 5 Live, which is now virtually unlistenable. Climate hysteria everywhere.

He actually goes off the deep end, completely abandoning any semblance of impartiality. In a sane world the BBC would sack him for this outburst.

Readers should take a listen and decide for themselves.

    • November 1, 2021 11:10 am

Rowlatt is the latest of the BBC’s army of know-alls who know nothing about the climate.

      • November 1, 2021 12:15 pm

Phillip, it is clear that you do not need to know anything because you will never ever be challenged on anything you say if you are on the sexy science denial side of the isle. They spout pure fact free emotion. All they care is that they come up with a new way of describing the climate emperors clothes that their facist activist chums will pick up and run with.

      • November 1, 2021 12:17 pm

        Sorry about the fascist typo!

    • November 1, 2021 11:50 am

Is that the same Rowlatt that flies to and around Antarctica to stoke up climate hysteria? ‘Carbon emissions’ much?

      https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/stories-52066238

Miliband wouldn’t hesitate to fly anywhere if there was something in it for him.

Appalling behaviour from a supposed journalist, using tax payer money as a platform for his rather partial views. Time to end the license fee.

At one time I seem to remember, the opposition opposed the government. It now just rubber-stamps and complains that the government is too slow, not spending enough etc. This is exactly what happened with Brexit, do the cowboys never learn when to stay off the horse?

      Two events yesterday.

A black out last night in south Wales and parts of the south west. Many street lights went out and burglar alarms set off.
Train crash in tunnel at Salisbury. ? signal failure.
I am not suggesting the two are connected just that things are coming apart at the seems.
There are real, serious issues that require remedies way before climate fantasies.

Minibrain is just a political hack. He will say anything which his worthless focus group nonejobbists tell him to say which this week according to their bible Twatter that the climate activist vote will win the next election. People like him and Starmer could not declare a heartfelt position regarding something that they truly believe in if their lives depended on it because they are simply amoral.

And this from the person who was leader of the major opposition party in our country! What a total nitwit, ‘…yet another small step on the path to totalitarianism’ as Rod Liddle has so aptly described such inanities.

Mr Miliband probably thinks that crossing the river to Sarf Lunnun is an Awfully Big Adventure. And his seat, in Doncaster, is too close to London for a flight to make any sense.

On the other hand he probably enjoys flights to the Continent, the US, and other far-flung places. So those flights are quite OK.

I very much doubt if there is a politician stupider than E. Milliband. He invariably knows absolutely nothing about any topic he opines about. No doubt he believes he is so extremely clever hat knowing is not necessary for him. In this example he doesn’t seem to understand that many “domestic” flights are actually international flights as they are transferring passengers from say Newcastle to a flight to New York from Heathrow. So what will happen is they will become actual international flights going to Amsterdam and then on instead. They won’t be domestic then so not banned but there will be more emissions and British jobs lost – the usual Milliband lose-lose.

Yes, Millipede should retire to a little place (say 6 bathrooms?) In Great Edstone (near Kirkbymoorside).

I think a grateful public would be overjoyed to provide the funding, providing he keeps his stupid mouth shut for the rest of his miserable life.
