Billionaires are hypocrites who have lost touch with reality in exchange for virtue signallling. Who would have guessed that?!!
One cannot really blame hypocrites who are responsible for a small % of the world’s manmade CO2, especially if they know that CO2’s influence is tiny c.f. those of the sun, water vapour and cosmic rays

The maths, I’m led to believe.
Co2 is 0.04% of the Earths atmosphere, of which human activities make up 3%, of which the UK contribute 1%.
If true, that’s 0.0000132% of the atmosphere and that is the reason the UK Government are intending to commit financial and industrial suicide.
Makes Mr Ponzi seem like an amateur!
I did the same calculation. Since most of my friends are arts educated innumerates, I can’t show it because it wouldn’t mean anything to them.
Take that a few steps further and you find that it would take mankind’s CO2 emissions 25,000 years to raise global temperatures by 2ºC. Assuming CO2 is a problem………

I presume you mean the UK contributes 1% of 3% not that the UK contributes a third of the 3%. Sorry, but it wasn’t immediately clear to me.
To be clear:
This house is on a slight slope, with the lowest corner at about 25 feet above ocean level and the highest is about 44 feet.
It can be called “ocean view” if one can see through the trees.
Ocean front it is not.
Bezos will have checked out long before those numbers change to 24 & 43.
Storm surges will go higher than that. Waves can be very high as the water gets deep very quick offshore of those hawaiian islands
To be sure, my house has water frontage – to a tiny tributary of the Avon. But when the heavens open it has been known to rise FIFTEEN FEET or more and get within a (vertical) foot of my DPC. I suppose I should blame that nasty CARBON (Though what my BBQ charcoal has to do with it, I don’t know) but I have a feeling it’s either billionaires flying all over the planet – or the EA not doing its job properly. I must ask Turdberg….

They will all have helicopter pads for a quick getaway should their beloved climate change ever come calling.
Having followed the scare about impending inundations for twenty years, I have come to the conclusion that disastrous rise in sea level is a morality tale for the little people- those who are expected to be content with enforced poverty as their contribution to “ saving the planet” .. Those higher beings, the hierarchs of the Climate Cult with access to private jets, offset by the environmental indulgences of carbon offsets and possessing coastal residences are mystically exempt – and they are guarded by a zealous Regulocracy to enforce the true doctrine.
I recall attending a talk by the late Professor Nils Axel Morner, who demonstrated with photographic evidence that low lying tropical islands were actually getting larger. “ You have to understand” he said “ that I am not using computer models but am hampered by working from observation”. There was evidence in the remains of mangrove trees of the former coastline now well inland. On a subsequent visit he found that the scientific Regulocrats of the One True Faith had done their best to destroy the evidence.
