The Met Office Warns Of Armed Militias Roaming The UK In Climate Doomsday Report (But Don’t Worry–The Corrupt EU Will Save Us!)

January 18, 2022

By Paul Homewood

The Met Office has finally totally lost the plot!

It is a bleak forecast even by the Met Office’s standards – the complete collapse of society leaving armed militias and criminal gangs to roam the land unchallenged.

That is one of the doomsday scenarios set out in a report commissioned by the UK’s weather service to model the potential consequences of climate change.

The extraordinary report, called Shared Socio-economic Pathways and developed for the Government-funded UK Climate Resilience Programme, sets out supposedly ‘plausible futures’ as a result of global warming.

A doomsday scenario considered by the Met Office involves armed militias and criminal gangs roaming the land following a climate change catastrophe

A doomsday scenario considered by the Met Office involves armed militias and criminal gangs roaming the land following a climate change catastrophe

One of those scenarios described by the authors is a surge in ¿Right-wing populism¿, resulting in the collapse of ¿political and governance systems¿

One of those scenarios described by the authors is a surge in ‘Right-wing populism’, resulting in the collapse of ‘political and governance systems’. After that ‘a tipping point is reached when the police and justice system (as known in the past) cease to exist’. Due to ‘past investments in military and defence… without an effective central government, different military groups (militias, criminal groups, etc) rise to de facto power’.

Under a different scenario in the report, a ‘rich elite’ imposes conscription. ‘Society is more divided than ever,’ the report suggests, ‘with the majority of the population having low incomes and poor health, contrasting with a rich ruling elite. Social unrest increases and the prison population skyrockets. To keep the general population in line, governments introduce military conscription by the end of the century.’

The report makes another ‘woke’ political point by claiming that climate change would lead to the privatisation of the NHS.

It says: ‘Because of the high costs associated with reforming the NHS, the preferred solution is to increase privatisation of general and specialised health services and medication provision.

‘Citizens are encouraged to purchase private insurance policies in order to receive better healthcare. This transitional period worsens care for the poorest in society.’

The Meteorological Office report, which was carried out by Cambridge Econometrics, the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, and the universities of Edinburgh and Exeter, does however suggest a way of averting this future – by rejoining the EU.

It advances the thesis that the most ‘sustainable’ scenario for surviving global warming would be the ‘establishment of a federal UK, with citizens’ assemblies becoming the “primary” decision-making mode’ and the UK re-entering ‘a progressive and expanded European Union’.

The report says that creating such scenarios ‘are important to climate risk and resilience studies’.

It argues that physical climate change and continued socio-economic change are highly interrelated – and that socio-economic factors determine greenhouse gas emissions and land use changes that cause climate change.

Those factors also determine the ‘levels of vulnerability and capacity to adapt to climate change’ and are ‘plausible socio-economic future outlooks up to 2100 that provide the challenging context within which future decisions… must be determined and implemented’.

It is now apparent that the Met Office has been taken over by a handful of climate extremists. No serious public organisation, particularly one that is supposed to be scientific, would dream of putting its name to ultra garbage like this.

It is time that the Met Office was purged of these extremists, and that it returned to its real business of forecasting the weather.

No I have checked the calendar it is the 18th January today. Surely this article is 73 days early? Either that or I have transitioned into some alternative reality.

These researchers (average age?) have obviously overdosed on Soylent Green and other dystopian rubbish. Passing off nightmares as “research” is cheap.

Such complete and utter tosh. Perhaps they need an even bigger computer so that they can forecast the future. Although it might cheaper to buy them a crystal ball. Just as accurate and a lot better for the taxpayers.

    • January 24, 2022 11:21 am

As they say, a bigger computer will only enable them to get the wrong result faster. Considering Piers Corbyn gets better mid-long term results from a laptop, perhaps the MO should re-evaluate their whole basis.

Way before the ‘global warmin’ nonsense was launched to scare the gullible half-wits amongst us, we did similar ‘wild thinking’ about nuclear war’s aftermath. One of the joys put, quite seriously, was the prospect of Traffic Wardens (!) being the LAST uniformed commandable ‘force’ avilable, who WOULD be ARMED and ‘granted’ the rights of summary execution on eg, looters, and anyone not obeying them! We decided we’d take THEM OUT FIRST! – Army thinking 1969! -To be fair, there is a case for getting cross with private parking bandits, even today.

I remember watching the film, ‘The War Game’ in ’65 – when it was banned by the BBC. The RAF was allowed to use it.
It showed armed constables having to walk along a pavement where barely surviving victims of ‘the bomb’ were laid along the kerbside and the constables went along and put them out of their misery. Quite a shock for a young erk like me. But all in the cause of scaring the shhh out of the populace.
At the time it was considered by the RAF that the UK could take the brunt of 350 Hiroshimas and keep going….

Actually this scenario is not that wide of the mark, but the cause of the riots is not climate change, but the enforced Net Zero policy. When electricity is only affordable by the rich and the poor are shivering in poverty, just how many charging Tesla’s are going to be torched on the drive, bricks through the windows of illuminated households. Wide scale theft of electricity, tripping out the inadequate local sub stations, yup its going to happen!

Ah! JUST like some areas of South Africa today! Only here, a large percentage of electricity used is never paid for. And yes, we do have substations tripping out because of illegal overloads.

This is the same Met Office, that lost its contract with the BBC to provide weather forecasts, because they factored in climate change in their computer program making their forecasts inaccurate.

Pot, kettle, black springs to mind!

Quite correct after one addition of “alarmism” at end of the sentence.

This sounds like the plot to those awful post apocalyptic horror films of the 1970s. Someone has watched one on Netflix and thought – there’s a good climate scare story. Not even good enough to be bullshit! Will people really believe this? Sadly, many will.

The UK Met Office is not fit for purpose……..Unfortunately even MI6 under the new director Richard Moore has gone woke and risibly announced that conducting climate espionage to address the non existent security challenge of a ‘climate emergency ‘ that is in fact another incarnation of mass hysteria for which there is no evidence, is to be a foremost policy imperative of Her Majesty’s secret service . Carrie Symonds Sir Richard Attenborough Lord Stern Prince Charles and Stanley Johnson must be absolutely delighted .[.The KGB enforcing Lysenkoism didn’t end well ]… Is a non binary dreadlocked vegan character in line for the next ‘James Bond ‘ ?

Paul is right about the extremists and the need to purge them.

This cannot be a ‘science’ study. It’s pure political propaganda.

All joking aside, this IS a sacking offence. Senior personnel who approved this ‘study’ and put the MO’s name to it must be dismissed for gross misconduct.

Here is the same asininity reported yesterday by the Express which I forwarded to Paul

I think what we are possibly seeing is just the next stage after the Met Office have been “adjusting” data, selecting where and how data is acquired to introduce bias and speculating negatively on weather events in other places which do not come under their remit if they suit project climate fear. This goes hand in hand with the concerted attacks on the Enlightenment where both mathematics and the scientific method have been bizarrely called racist. It also fits with that strange troubled woman Megan Merkel and her “personal truth”.

The Met Office have for a while shown both a lack of interest in accurately following our famously erratic weather patterns preferring to increasingly indulge themselves in negative speculation. They just came out as one more propaganda agency.

What I want to know is WHO is pulling their strings and how they are able to do that?

The irony of this is that it is the outrageous actions of politicians in their cowardly response to the none problem of climate that will cause that dystopian future.

In Norway where I live, where there is no gas alternative and because of a collective child like belief in authority, electricity prices have been allowed to increase from approx. 0.02 Euro per KW in January of 2021 to 0.24 Euro in January 2022, an increase of more than 1000%!!! This has been caused because wilfully incompetent politicians have forgotten who the primary customers of Norwegian generated electricity are and incredibly agreeing to inflict European prices on the population as part of interconnector sales agreements as well as the insanity of a massive investment in worthless windmills because the green marxists here convinced them somehow that building more hydro capacity up on the top of Norway where neither people nor life as we know it exists is a bad thing!
The upshot is that monthly electrikery bills which used to be in the 70-80 euro region are now well north of 300 euros. I am sure a lot of the drive for interconnector sales come from those on the mad left who have embraced the science free screeching and wailing against the oil industry and so see the sale of this precious resource to all comers (by any means) as a replacement to the free falling North Sea oil and gas revenues, something which they welcomed and to which the country and it’s exponentially growing welfare bill has become addicted

Try that one on a less passive population and see what will happen!

My question is. WHO is making all the money because it is not only the dangerous weasel in the Kremlin.

See: “The ultimate responsibility and accountability for the work of the Met Office is with the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy [Kwasi Kwarteng MP]. Day-to-day ministerial oversight and the formal business ownership role are delegated to the Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation [Michelle Donelan MP].”

And we (in the UK) were always told that Maggie squandered the income from North Sea oil and gas, unlike Norway, who had created a Sovereign Fund so as to cushion their people from the vagaries of oil fields.
BTW: Spent a week in Oslo in the ’90s on business. Couldn’t get over just how horrendously expensive a pint of beer (equiv) was! Even worse, I’ve just heard my soon-to-be Son-in-law is going to spend a five day Stag do there with his mates at the beginning of Feb (any tips on best places to go….?) 🙂

About 5 years ago I had a night out in Stavanger with an old mate from South Africa who now lives in Norway. He suggested we go and have a few games of pool and a beer or two. We arrived in the bar/pool hall and he said if I got the beers he would pay for the pool table for the night. Seemed fair. Right up to the moment until I paid £25 for two beers!

Next he went to a locker next to the pool table, took out his key and got out his pool cue which he keeps there…sandbagged or what!

Good night, glad I never agreed to bet on the games though. He then reminded me how he supported himself through Uni by hustling at the pool tables….

The IPCC is concerned about a rise of 0.8 degrees C. So, as I see it, this calamity is going to make the climate of Yorkshire, almost as dreadful as that of Devon, and the climate of Devon as bad as that of Northern France. This is going to kill us all. Where do I get my sub-machine gun?

Actually, this confirms that the Met Office are as corrupt and mental as the likes of NASA and the IPCC.

Last November the Met Office told us that the weather in December and January would be makjed by “heavy rain and flooding”. Perhaps now that period is nearly over they would be better employed explaining how they got it wrong (again), instead if producing this alarmist garbage.
