BBC Climate Check

May 19, 2022

By Paul Homewood

Regarding the monthly BBC Weather Check, I had not realised that it originated a couple of years ago, as part of the BBC’s propaganda blitz, “Our Planet Matters”:

This confirms that Climate Check is nothing but a propaganda vehicle for spreading the BBC’s climate agenda.

There’s an irony that the BBC chooses to quote the Met Office, but rejected the Met Office for its weather forecasting contract.

  2. May 19, 2022 9:36 am

They preferred their own made up data as opposed to the same from the Met Office. After all who would trust the output from a £ multi million super computer?

“BBC Weather … plans to bring in a monthly Climate Check Service, to help audiences see trends behind the daily weather”

What they really mean is, see AGW-trends behind the weather. I bet they have no intention of showing any trends which would go against the current orthodoxy. Dr Goebbels would be proud.

If they think there’s trends in “daily weather” they really are dumb. They don’t even understand the nonsense they propogate.

It will be a day for celebration and return to normality when people realise the the alarmist propaganda about climate and the associated net zero policy are just nonsense spread by a group of leftie environmentalists who want to control the world.

      Will that day ever come?

Just hope its before the self-destruction of Western economies and the final standard of living collapse inflicted by global warming policies.

The collapse in standard of living is already here and MPs are blind to how much of it is caused by climate policy and the madness of Net Zero. Keir Starmer is banging on about a windfall tax on oil and gas companies to raise £2 billion to knock VAT of energy bills whilst ignoring the elephant in the room: £6 billion is already added directly to energy bills via the ROCs for wind and solar generators by government diktat.

And the cost of all environmental levies on domestic electricity was estimated as 23% by OFGEM. All mandated by successive governments. Starmer wants to knock 5% tax off whilst ignoring 23% of teat-sucking subsidies?

If fossil fuel generators getting market prices for electricity (circa £200 / MWh for December 2021 as PH pointed out) deserve to be penalised why ignore the solar and wind generators who are getting the same market rates but also creaming an additional £6 billion a year directly from consumer electricity bills as ROCs?. They are getting market rate +30 to +60% on top depending on whether they are onshore/offshore wind or solar provided. All as PH pointed out a month or two ago. Why are we all paying for this? When will the public wake up?

Utterly, utterly bonkers. These MPs are total f*ckwits and idiots.

      • May 19, 2022 1:11 pm

“These MPs are total f*ckwits and idiots”

As another scientist I couldn’t agree with you more. And that is precisely the reason why the politicians will ignore the realities, as you describe so perfectly, as to do otherwise will mean admitting to them being catastrophically wrong. And that will never do for a bunch of self serving, venal f*ckwits and idiots. As an example see the constant refrain about “due to the pandemic” as opposed to the reality of “due to our hysterical over-reaction”

Good – and informative – rant, TS. Thanks.
Bet you cannot find ONE MP who could explain the sums involved, though I’d pay good money for someone like Farage or Neil to grill one with these stats.

“Global leaders from almost 200 countries reached a late agreement at the Glasgow climate talks that purports to keep the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees alive, but leaves much to be done in the coming years.

The political agreement also included mention of loss and damage for the first time. (Hence the new focus on “attribution”, a money spinner).

In the wake of the talks, there is a need to examine the current structures and dynamics of global climate governance. The Paris Agreement, along with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, still provides a solid universal framework. Yet the climate governance landscape—a large group of structures, institutions, states, and non-state actors working in different ways and at different levels (local, national, regional, and global—is not succeeding in implementation”

“Climate checker” is like a “Fact checker” i.e. big brother telling the proles what they should believe. The meja have also now started “What you need to know about” sites, more telling the proles what to think.
Is it 1984 yet ….. they will soon tell us?

  7. May 19, 2022 10:25 am

‘BBC plan’ included in the licence fee. How generous 😏

Reminds me of the cartoon of the cat hovering over the goldfish bowl with a caption: ‘trust me’.

BBC offer another hostage to fortune.
I guess that it should be possible to plot alleged climate change against the facts as they emerge. Divergence or disparity which is revealed while be the first alert to the Climate Check’s eventual withdrawal and its replacement with something which better fits the BBC’s agenda.

Can any article demonstrate how hopelessly lost the MO is? If they were interested in science this would be an article on the manifest shortcomings of using weather station data to demonstrate climate change, and the massive impact of urbanisation and land use change.

The trouble with the Met Office and the RMetS, they no longer use science. As for using UK weather station data they would find this. No warming for over 24 years. Real science is not on their agenda.

They now answer to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
      Kwasi Kwateng:

This is the department that in 2019, “following the Prime Minister’s commitment to the UK cutting carbon emissions to net zero by 2050, and the publication of the Committee on Climate Change’s (CCC) report, the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee examined the rationale for going faster to hit the net zero target, hearing from witnesses including Gail Bradbrook, Extinction Rebellion, Isabella O’Dowd, Climate and Energy Specialist, WWF, and Baroness Bryony Worthington, Environmental Defense Fund.”

Dear Bryony helped give us the Climate Change Act: Wiki – “Worthington was the lead author in the team which drafted the UK’s 2008 Climate Change Act”.
“The Met Office is a Trading Fund of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The ultimate responsibility and accountability for the work of the Met Office is with the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Day-to-day ministerial oversight and the formal business ownership role are delegated to the Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation.”

It isn’t a mystery, they have to support the agenda or no funding, no job.

Another step along the road to Peak Mendacity.

Meanwhile and only slightly O/T, please sign the petition asking for a full debate before we are all committed to making the WHO in charge of pandemic policy. I would have worded the petition much stronger, bearing in mind the extent that CCP shill “Dr.” Tedros has tossed out well established Pandemic policy and endorsed Chinese policy.

Even I am amazed that even Boris thinks this is remotely what is needed. What next? Bill and Melinda in charge of the NHS? The Mafia in charge of Law and Order?

Isn’t it enough that the BBC and MET Office are branches of Extinction Rebellion?

The WHO issue, ably presented by Mark Steyn on GB News, is just another step forward in the implementation of UN Agenda 30 for Sustainability (which, sadly, Mark did not touch upon) but our government is fully signed up to it. Where is the link to the petition?

Looks like the BBC will be steering clear of reporting on Arctic ice for a while. It seems to be melting very slowly this year.

  13. May 19, 2022 12:16 pm

Pretty well ALL of the BBC output is propaganda playing to their climate alarmist agenda.

Hell, they even managed to weave it thoroughly into a program about classical music on Radio 3. Utterly ridiculous tosh, but there are plenty of ordinary people who lap it up and regard it as the unblemished truth.

” NO ONE I come across in my life has any interest in any of this nonsense,I wonder who is taking it on board? ”

Many reasons to have an interest in the nonsense e.g. the nonsense is costing lots of people lots of money, the nonsense reduces the stability of energy supply in the UK, the nonsense provides funding to Russia to wage war on Ukraine, the nonsense could increase deaths through energy poverty this winter.

No one watches the above ‘climate check’ drivel, so what is the point?

As we know, it goes a bit deeper, down to hell probably, leading the proles into Abadon.

Actually al beeb part of the grand design to promote the great scam and devoted to the ambition, efface the Occident – UN climate representative Christina Figueres let the cat out of the bag. So, industrial deconstruction and deindustrialization first, Klaus’s baby the wef will force you all back into the Stone Age. The overarching design, a few billion deaths here and there regarded as merely collateral damage necessary for the planet – just ask Bill oh and famous old Malthusian coot, David.

As a study found, 19.9% of strokes can be attributed to this pollutant when exposed for periods of time when it is above a certain level (10mcg/m3).

It’s utter garbage. P hacking of the worst kind. Take lots of data and keep moving it around until you find a correlation that meets your “wee P” criteria.

And the data is totally unreliable – we don’t know if the people suffering strokes were actually exposed to the PMs. It’s done using large areas and postcodes. And of course PMs are now 25% or lower than in 1970 but there’s no reduction in strokes from that.

BBC News make up fake stories all the time and do not hesitate to use illegal means to ensure their stories are sensational.
The worst examples of their fakery like Lady Diana and Cliff Richard end up as national scandals. At least Rupert Murdoch had the decency to close his corrupt News organisation down. Not so the BBC.

However in this case they are only following Parliament which on our behalf has declared a climate emergency!
