Biden praises high gas prices as part of ‘incredible transition’
By Paul Homewood
From the New York Post
Out of touch as ever, President Biden celebrated record-high gas prices Monday, gushing that the pump pain was part of “an incredible transition” of the US economy away from fossil fuels.
“[When] it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden said during a press conference in Japan following his meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Biden let’s the cat out of the bag!
Of course, it was always the intention to push up fossil fuel prices, in order to make low carbon alternatives more attractive.
That is precisely why we have carbon pricing, which is being steadily raised.

An incredible journey…
From reliable to unreliable,
From cheap to expensive,
From fossil fuels’ live-giving CO2 to renewables raw materials deathly toxins,
From growing the economy and reducing poverty, to making people poor,
From reality to fantasy,
From democracy to dictatorship, communism and totalitarianism,
From freedom to slavery.
From life to death!
Perhaps we should send Biden et al on that journey first, and the rest of us wait to see if they return alive.
He is already dead…from the neck up.
A transition to nowhere.
Not a transition.
“A transition is a change from one thing to the next, either in action or state of being”
There is no “to” in the Left’s plan. Changing from affordable, abundant energy to none. Zero. Nada.
It’s not a transition. There is no ‘next.’ It’s an end.
PaulIts been clear for sometime what they are doing. I still don’t really have a handle on the underlying motive. Its not ‘global warming’, that is just a peg to hang this on. Of course some people will get obscenely rich(er). And of course its part of a transformation of , in particular, western societies to be more controlled and potentially smaller. But why this almost insane rush when most of those things can be accomplished slowly like the boiling frog unnoticed? Why these arbitrary deadlines that almost encourage civil strife as a consequence? Have the insane taken over the asylum or is something very few have insight of driving this? What could that be? Best regardsJim

Here you go:
At a news conference in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.
“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.
Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added:
“This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

This is the UN long term agenda:

AGENDA 21: THE END OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION
“Here is how the UN described Agenda 21 in one of its own publications in a 1993 article entitled “Agenda 21: The Earth Summit Strategy to Save our Planet:” “Agenda 21proposes an array of actions which are intended to be implemented by EVERY person on Earth…it calls for specific changes in the activities of ALL people… Effective execution of Agenda 21 will REQUIRE a profound reorientation of ALL humans, unlike anything the world has ever experienced.”
Gro Harlem Brundtland XIX Congress of the Socialist International
“Social Democracy in a Changing World” 15 -17 September 1992
“At the Rio Conference on Environment and Development (1992) it was made clear that we are heading towards a crisis of uncontrollable dimensions unless we change course.
Securing peace, sustainable development and democracy requires that nations, in their common interest, establish an effective system of global governance and security.
In an increasingly interdependent world, we must find new ways to live – both within our own countries and on a global level – that are socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable.
What we need is a new social contract. Monetary stability will not suffice. And just as democracy originated in Europe some 2500 years ago, just as social democracy developed in Europe over the past 100 years, so must we again take the lead.
We must curb population growth and reinforce the links between population, poverty-alleviation and the rights of women. A new social contract must be based on our overriding principles – freedom, solidarity and justice.
To pursue social justice, freedom and democracy will require that we pool our collective experiences and national sovereignties. There is no alternative to obligatory coordination of financial and monetary policies.”

1. We, the Heads of State and Government and High Representatives, meeting at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 25-27 September 2015 as the Organization celebrates its seventieth anniversary, have decided today on new global Sustainable Development Goals.
2. On behalf of the peoples we serve, we have adopted a historic decision on a comprehensive, far-reaching and people-centred set of universal and transformative Goals and targets. We commit ourselves to working tirelessly for the full implementation of this Agenda by 2030.
Hence lots of moves to do things by 2030, like Boris and ICE car ban.
“Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time and its adverse impacts undermine the ability of all countries to achieve sustainable development. Increases in global temperature, sea level rise, ocean acidification and other climate change impacts are seriously affecting coastal areas and low-lying coastal countries, including many least developed countries and small island developing States. The survival of many societies, and of the biological support systems of the planet, is at risk.”
Yet another gang of “For Your Own Good, You Know It Makes Sense” psudo-religious power-hungry control freaks touting the 21st Century version of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse that suffer from the same problem as all the previous versions going back millennia, at the end of the day they don’t believe in human nature and so they will go the way of all previous versions.
It was ever thus.
Malthusianism & de-population.
It was always assumed that we were going to pay individually for our ‘Carbon footprint’ – the WEF are now even talking about monitoring our movements and consuming habits.
I believe that the EU even put forward the idea that consumers of services should pay for the dreaded CO2 trail we left behind.
I could actually find a degree of appreciation for any politician who stood up and told us “Look, you peasants, if you are going to drive and use your cookers, you’re going to have to pay more.”
But they never do – it’s always the fault of something or somebody else.
At least this bumbling fool is telling us what they are really thinking – and doing.
Hopefully, Australia will act as a demonstration project before to much damage is done here. There’s still far too much talk about HOW? and HOW MUCH? instead of WHY?????
As Sri Lanka was the demo (failed) for organic production perhaps we need another island to demonstrate to the world how being fossil-free will work. Can I suggest Manhattan Island?
I think the British PM and her husband have already decided Great Britain is going to fulfil that role.
Unfortunately, UK’s Boris Johnson has already set THAT island on a ‘renewable’ journey of adventure. It may be OK, since Britain has plenty of lamp-posts – not so much tar-and-feathers though!
“Under my plan…prices will necessarily sky rocket.” – Barack Obama. Biden, the lackey, is merely continuing his master’s work.
Same old story – saving the planet on the backs of the poor.
“…stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels…” —says the fossil President.
Yep….a clear demonstration that only those who are likely to be alive to see the results of their decisions should make those decisions.
The transition is from fossil fuels to no energy.
Social Engineering – The art of replacing what works with what sounds good.”

What Transition?
How exactly will an exponential increase in toxic mining ‘save’ the planet?
The ‘Transition’ is just not happening. Green Dreams Mark Mills —
https://www.prageru.com/video/how-much-energy-will-the-world-need
If that’s the”green” plan to save the planet why did Joe Biden race to take oil from strategic reserves to make more fuels available at the pump at a lower price? And now Joe wants to increase the percentage of ethanol in renewable biofuels. Why not just stop making them? Stop using agricultural land for growing corn and sugarcane which will require vehicles that run on those biofuels? Why haven’t John Kerry, AOC and Bernie complained?
Brain dead?
There are inumerable inconsistencies . Here’s an article highlighting the Canadian government rediculousness!
https://climatediscussionnexus.com/2022/05/25/so-is-canadian-oil-bad-or-not/
You are spot on. About 7% of food grains are disappearing into ethanol and 10% of veg oils into biodiesel. Waiting in the wings is SAF (un) sustainable aviation fuel which will take more vegetable oils and turn it into SAF so that the elite can fly around the world whilst the masses starve.
Geriatirc Joe is a global liability. Just how is the US going to square it away with the Egyptians who buy most the the Ukrainian wheat.
Worse still is why are we repeating this mess in Europe. Look up the price of veg oil and fuel grade ethanol and you will see that the biofuels are about 2-3 times higher than fossil fuels, and the Biden clown wants to blend more. Most biofuels have a paltry, if any net energy gain. Fossil fuel inputs are very close to the contained energy in the biofuels. Beyond bonkers
“Of course, it was always the intention to push up fossil fuel prices, in order to make low carbon alternatives more attractive.”
What low carbon alternatives transport anything or can be made without using fossil fuels for transportation? No transition can be made without fuels for transportation.
Bicycles, pony and trap?
Have to admit, when I took a quick glance at the headline, I thought it said, ‘Biden passes high gas’.
Thing is, it could’ve been true. 🙂
According to Queen Camela he does this quite often without realising.
Man made carbon dioxide is only 0.04% of atmospheric green house gases and is saturated anyway so that it cannot absorb any more heat. 90% of green houses gases consist of water and water vapour over which we have no control. Global temperatures have not risen for a decade. There is no climate crisis, Net Zero achieves nothing but entirely unnecessary poverty. Biden should be put in prison along with all Cop26 signatories for enacting policies that achieve nothing but misery
Total CO2 in the atmosphere is 0.04%, 97% of that is natural and 3% supposedly man-made and the UK contribution is 1% of that 3%
https://www.weather-research.com/articles/net-zero-carbon.
It is also worth observing that – contrary to the claims of the Warmists – mankind’s CO2 does not accumulate in the atmosphere and is cycled back out through the natural sinks, so the manmad proportion remains constant at 3%.
About carbon dioxide, it will always be able to absorb a little more heat but you have to add an awful lot just to get a little more warming. The warming of the climate fanatics is supposed to come from feedbacks eg more water vapour, less ice etc .
Yes, the mythical “Tipping Points”!
Net zero is a very stupid idea. Let’s go, Brandon.
OT, but sauce for the goose….

“Carbon dioxide is the chief hormone of the entire body; it is the only one that is produced by every tissue and that probably acts on every organ. Carbon dioxide is, in fact, a more fundamental component of living matter than is oxygen.” Yandell Henderson. Humans have 100 times more carbon dioxide in their bodies than oxygen for the very good reason that carbon dioxide is essential for the proper circulation of the blood round the body.
I really wish Americans would stop calling petrol gas. V confusing. There are 3 states of matter – solid liquid and gas. The stuff you put in your car is a liquid.
Short for “gasoline”, the US name for petrol.
There are four actually, you forgot plasma.
Being much poorer really doesn’t make you stronger. It’s quite simple.
Joe is correct for once
in-credible
Biden is wrong. High prices for things encourages people to produce more of them. It’s low prices that stop exploration and development of fossil fuels.
But he’s Leftie so can’t understand basic economics when it’s gets in the way of getting rid of stuff he doesn’t like.
Sure, the incredible transition to poverty in the new world government biden helped to hasten along.
All politicians seem to have no grasp of the real world. High fuel prices kill not only mobility, but also the economy and make the products of those that survive much more expensive and none of these things are good for ordinary people and businesses.
