Enjoy your holiday Paul!
I hope you have a really relaxing time; you certainly deserve it. 👍
Enjoy!
Richly deserved, Paul! Come back fully refreshed
A very well deserved break Paul.

Have a great break, hope the weather stays fine for a bike ride or two
Hope you have a great break, and that the BBC broadcasts nothing that’ll disturb your tranquillity!
Watch out for heatwaves – they are more common now apparently – and don’t get caught out by the rising seas.
Well I hope you have a really nice time. And I hope the others don’t mind if I say on behalf of pretty much everybody here thanks once more for all the work you do on this subject – I for one very much appreciate it.
Since the MO has been messing around with the CET, the recent warming has been increased.
Prior to May, the hottest mean temperature year 2014 was 1.44 above the average, which has mysteriously increased to 1.52, almost a tenth of a degree C more.
In reality the CET, although adjusted for UHI, is likely under-adjusted, and if anything, the MO should have reduced the recent warming!
Thank you for what you do.
Have a great time.
And next two weeks is Wimbledon fortnight. Coincidence? , Are you reserving the weeks to go to Wimbledon or fleeing , “for the duration ” to someplace where the endless commentary does not reach. Whichever, enjoy.
Fleeing!
“Fleeing!”
There was a Giles Cartoon in the 1950’s which showed a disconsolate Mrs. Giles trailing after Mr. Giles as he marches, as a recruit, into a Foreign Legion fort, and explaining to anyone who will lsten:
“He said it was a choice between this and two weeks of “Bonk! Bonk! 30-Love! on the telly…”
Surely, ALL modern sport on television is completely ruined by the utterly inane commentators. They are completely boring and droning; they can not keep their mouths shut for a single second. Sport is not intellectual. There is literally nothing to say about it which is worth saying. Let alone saying again and again and again.
Michael Bentine did a lovely parody of RADIO commenting. You hear
rather ragged hoof-beats and huge clatters of poles falling as a member of the Royal Family makes a complete Horlicks of a Show Jumping round.
“What a beautiful seat! You can hardly see where her Royal Highness ends and the horse begins! Oh! …Oh!…That WAS unlucky.”
Meanwhile, the maximum Snow Mass Balance of the Greenland Ice Sheet for this year is above the 1981-2010 Mean…And the Sun is almost spotless…Just saying.
You absolutely deserve all of it and hope you have a great time ! Ajax.
Enjoy! Eager for your return.
Have a Lovely time!
Enjoy the well earned break Paul.
Enjoy a well earned break.
Slow? I’d hate to see the site at full revs.
I’ve put a comment in the Home section about today’s piece on TCW re smooths. For reasons of space it has been rather truncated and lacks the important numbers. Could you please contact me if you’d like to see the more developed argument. .
My suggested title was ‘Oil and surfactant pollution: a disregarded contributor to global warming?’
