Greta Thunberg: It’s time to transform the West’s oppressive and racist capitalist system

The Telegraph has finally woken up to the fact that Greta is a tool of the far left:
From a climate change campaigner to presenting a new far-Left political agenda against “racist” capitalism – meet the new Greta Thunberg.
The 19-year-old Swedish activist has announced that as well as tackling her usual area of climate action and awareness-spreading, she has now thrown her weight behind defeating the West’s “oppressive” capitalist system.
Calling for a “system-wide transformation” at her book launch in London, she claimed that the world’s current “normal” – dictated by the people in power – has caused the climate breakdown.
She said: “We are never going back to normal again because ‘normal’ was already a crisis. What we refer to as normal is an extreme system built on the exploitation of people and the planet.
“It is a system defined by colonialism, imperialism, oppression and genocide by the so-called global North to accumulate wealth that still shapes our current world order.”
Ms Thunberg added: “If economic growth is our only priority, then what we are experiencing now should be exactly what we should be expecting.”
Appearing at London’s Royal Festival Hall to launch her new book, The Climate Book, on Sunday night, she decided to venture into political waters in her speech – having previously avoided doing so.
”We are still here, and we are not planning on going anywhere. Young people all over the world are stepping up, showing that our leaders messed with the wrong generation.”

Released last week, the book includes around 100 contributions from various climate experts, including writer Naomi Klein, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, chief of the World Health Organization, and Thomas Piketty, the economist.
Expressing views that seemed more radical than in the past, she added that the climate crisis “has its roots in racist, oppressive extractivism that is exploiting both people and the planet to maximise short-term profits for a few”.
People were quick to point out the political emphasis on social media, with one best-selling author saying “this is proof that Greta hates capitalism for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with climate change”.
Michael Shellenberger, an American author, posted on Twitter that the “whole capitalist system” Ms Thunberg referred to has led to larger food surpluses than at any point in history, average human life expectancy to rise from 30 to 70 and a drop in total deaths from natural disasters.

Ms Thunberg told Samira Ahmed, the BBC journalist, during a question and answer part of the evening that “fascist movements offering easy, false solutions and scapegoats to complex problems are growing and becoming more normalised”.
When asked by Ms Ahmed whether she thought it was as simple as making laws that outlaw things, she responded: “There are many [things we can do], but while we do these things that we can do within our current system, we have to realise that we need a system-wide transformation.
“We need to change everything because right now our current system is on a collision course with the future of humanity and the future of our civilization”.

Correct. She is a classic victim of child abuse. her first ‘school strike protest’ was staged on the day her mother launched her own green eco book. At the ‘strike’ there was a professional photographer and her mothers publicist to explain it to the media. The poor deluded child has been used to make her parents rich (in a very capitalist way!).
Yes, I too blame the parents, except is this case I can’t help but feel that her father must have had congress with Christiana Figueres – and the goblin was the issue. She most certainly seems to echo CF’s rubbish.

It only took him 60 odd years to understand the saying:

The rest of us got it in the appropriate time scale, some of us even younger.
For me it was 1960 as a sophomore in high school. Daddy handed me a little paperback book (still have it): Barry Goldwater’s “The Conscience of a Conservative”. I read it and said, “I am a conservative”. Of course I had parents who, to quote the late Rush Limbaugh, “lived in Real Ville.”
At 16, I had no heart. by the definition.

I was oblivious to politics so bought it, for all of 15 seconds before I utterly rejected it as ludicrous because there was simply no motivation for anyone to work hard.
Greed is bad but ambition and opportunity are essential for the survival of the human race.
Nothing mankind has ever achieved has been without ambition, optimism and risk. The left has systematically attempted to eradicate those virtues from society, no more so in Europe where Brussels has adopted the precautionary principle which simply stifles endeavour.
Neither did I. At 16 I concluded that socialism was an ante realistic creed for idiots and the hard of thinking.
The version I recall was if you are not a socialist at 20 you have no heart, if you are not a conservative at 30 you have no job.
I don’t think I will bother buying it.
With the joys of capitalism and supply/demand, it will be on sale for less than a fiver in a few months.

I thoroughly dislike Thunberg but maybe she is doing us a favour by making it clear to everyone that the “climate catastrophe” predictions are really just being used by the ultra left in an effort to destroy capitalism and bring in a Marxist world order. Maybe some of the middle of the road politicians who have previously fawned over Thunberg, and the middle-class useful idiot vicars and teachers who have supported Extinction Rebellion, will start to re-think their position.

The United Nations has been one of the organizations leading the manmade climate change push. The paragraph below, from the February 10, 2015 Investor’s Business Daily article “U.N. Official Reveals Real Reason Behind Warming Scare” seems to state the goal clearly.
Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism. “This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.
……and of course the British Brainwashing Corporation is doing all it can to publicise this book and its gibbering author.
I doubt she will have much traction as just another lefty extremist.
What are the characteristics of her replacement economic system? Does she say? I’m not buying the book but grateful to hear from someone who has.
Yes, I’m waiting for left-wing Greta and her puppeteers to tell us how we can continue the transition to renewables and electric transportation without using conventional vehicles that run of the fossil fuels she an other “greens” want to remove to zero emissions by 2050. Conventional vehicles do the work. Transport people, food and and all of the materials needed for delivering and installing renewables. Someone should ask her when she’s out in public selling books that didn’t just walk in to bookstores like she does before driving or flying home.

Not sure about that school comment John; as I suspect the school did as much of the brainwashing as Christiana Figueres did/does.
Not in Scotland in the 1970’s. We had a varied reading list’s including Salinger and Orwell amongst many others.
I look back on one of our seminal English teachers of the time. Today we would describe him as a pseudo intellectual left winger from how he dressed and presented himself, and I’m sure he was however, he taught Orwell with gusto and passion.
Looking back, I think he understood the threat his political leanings truly represented and was happy to lead his pupils to a more thoughtful understanding of left wing politics.

It is this thinking that has come from the corrupted educational system..which no longer is educational..it is “indoctrination” and happening across the majority of the schooling system.
It was told to me that 1 in 5 teachers/professor are Marxist but I would bet that number was higher than that, especially in listening to the student quote what they “understand” and it is just shy of total ignorance.
The system of teaching has been allowed to be taken over by special interest groups ranging from sexual deviancy to complete “personality disorders” and until those are addressed in a sane way…those will taint our young as we are seeing now.
