Better watch out….Michael Mann like to sue people who dare to disagree with his pronouncements from on high……
and then drag things out as long as possible and refuse to pay up when a court finds against him. Ten years and counting v Mark Steyn. Mark Steyn is a fighter and despite two recent heart attacks isn’t giving up. Things started badly for Mann when Steyn forced him to admit that he wasn’t any kind of Nobel Prize winner.
It also didn’t help that none of the climate mafia rode to his assistance as I think they view him as an embarrassment that harms their cause.
Excellent, I like this one too!
Mann combined proxy and instrumental records. If you look at the instrumental data throughout the year in the high arctic, it tells you why. The instrumental temperatures in the cold months when trees are dormant are the ones that are increasing the most. The instrumental summer temperatures when trees are growing don’t show much warming at all. Tree ring data is a measure of the summer temperature and the tree ring data and the summer temperature data correlate. But when you average the entire year, it’s completely misleading. Many proxies in the high arctic suffer the same problem.
Any scientists who says “hide” anything is doing the opposite of science. It’s the “hide” that is utterly wrong. Science is about revealing the universe, not concealing it.
I read Andrew Montford’s book “Hiding the Decline “a couple of times when it first came out in 2012 (it is a signed copy) after “The Hockey Stick Illusion” in 2010. Two fascinating reads about the corruption in establishment climate “science”.
I can recommend Mark Steyn’s ‘A Disgrace To The Profession’:
The World’s Scientists – In Their Own Words – On Michael E Mann, His Hockey Stick And Their Damage To Science – Volume One (!)
Chimes with comment from ‘gezza1298’ above about the silence from the climate mafia on Mann v Steyn.

A snooker championship has been disrupted by Just Stop Oil protesters. These silly misguided fools really need an education.
Fossil fuels provide the comforts millions enjoy. Carbon dioxide is the gas of life. These protesters interrupt people’s lives, from on the road to art galleries now harmless snooker matches.
Sunak wants maths taught up to the he age of 18, good. Also some basic science wouldn’t go amiss either. Or else you get clueless politicians like these in the clip below who really do risk spoiling everybody’s life !
“‘What Percent Of Our Atmosphere Is CO2?’: Doug LaMalfa Stumps Entire Panel With Climate Questions”
“Sunak wants maths taught up to the he age of 18, good.”
There’s something wrong if you can’t teach the Mathematics needed to function within a modern society, assuming we will still have one, by the age of fifteen. And, for many, much of that would be basic Arithmetic, with tables up to 12 * 12.
The country needs manufacturing, and that needs people with technical skills, including Mathematics. But these skills need to relate to the practical work involved, so why not promote Engineering Apprenticeships to show that Mathematics is a useful skill. I think, though, it’s another of Sunak’s soundbites.
What would be helpful would be to have Energy Ministers that knew some basic Science, so they could declare that NET Zero policies are a non-solution to a non-problem, (being implemented by by non-Engineers 🙂 ).
And someone needs to differentiate between the madness of ‘Just Stop Oil’ and the NET Zero policies. Both are crazy, but we appear to have many protest groups, from the House of Lords to the M25 to a snooker tournament, and whose to say what the Green Consensus is. It appears the Lords don’t realise that manufacturing is much more difficult without a ready supply of Steel, (or Plastic).
^^ The “group think” from the front row of the committee is obvious

Paul, you need to check this out as you always like to have a go at the BBC
Just gone on to BBC2 are they are now showing the 5live Nicki Campbell show (from 09.00 – 10.00 – so will be available on catch up) . Big feature on the snooker protest and some guy from Just stop oil called Graham is being interviewed.
It is terribly one sided. This guy has been allowed to rant about climate catastrophe and millions dying, food supplies, mass migration etc, without any questioning. Campbells only criticism of Graham is his use of the word “genocide”. Some caller raising questions has been shut down by Campbell who says the science is settled, the IPCC report confirms this. All the callers on line or highlighted texts are from climate change fanatics. Otherwise the main discussion is justification of the protest and the specific snooker event
I am aware of the general BBC propaganda but this is something else. On climate change Campbell is so biased he makes Rowlatt look fair minded
” … Campbell who says the science is settled ” It’s a bizarre and sorry world where scientific bodies don’t immediately and vocally challenge the concept of settled science.
” climate change fanatics. ” It’s so very similar to religion : “We believe, therefore you must believe”
I seem to remember the BBC running a programme on Climategate. Instead of investigating the veracity or implications behind the incriminating e-mails, the focus was on the illegality of the actions of the hackers implying that, because of the methods used to obtain the e-mails, their findings were therefore flawed and not to be trusted. I’m not sure how the hackers could have got the e-mails legitimately. Ford and co. would hardly have shared them willingly after all. So much for impartial investigative journalism.
There was no ‘hack’. A disgruntled insider (possibly Briffa whose work was hidden by the ‘Nature’ trick) released the information.

They’re still using the term “hackers” and saying that, despite hacking thousands of e-mails, the hackers only focused/published a few as though this proved cherry picking. I doubt that there were thousands of e-mail involved in any cover-up. The vast majority would have been pretty routine stuff and of little interest. If you compare it to slander cases the words in question are always a very small percentage of what the defendant has spoken in his entire life. You wouldn’t use cherry picking as a defence.
