A principal feature of Leftist policies is their incoherence. Completely uncoordinated. Different factions will argue opposite sides. For example, US Democrats support homosexuals AND Muslims.
So they can demand renewable electricity while demanding the destruction of hydro dams.
My favourite faction is “Queers for Palestine”!
Sadly, the so-called ‘right’s’ energy policy is no different.
T Centre’s isn’t much cop either
One meaning of green: ‘(figuratively, of people) Naïve or unaware of obvious facts.’

Sort of vaguely related.
I’ve seen a few stories like this over the last few weeks.
Analysis: used EV batteries still have a considerable amount of capacity left and can be repurposed for energy storage applications

Coupled with stories like this
In China, 640 EVs caught fire in the first quarter of 2022, up 32 percent

It makes you wonder if reusing EV batteries is sensible. Taking into account they may have been damaged before, during and after removal and have to be transported to and installed at another location a process that will be done at low cost most of the time, the risk of spontaneous combustion must be high.
“if reusing EV batteries is sensible”
I’ll eat my hat if it is.
It would seem the breakthrough technology needed is to be able to recover the elemental materials in the batteries. Lithium, copper, nickel, cobalt.
“Every battery we save will save the life of one child.”
