Met Office To Issue Sunny Day Alerts

June 3, 2023

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is today updating its Adverse Weather Alerting service for England which it runs in partnership with the Met Office.

The improved system will continue to focus specifically on the health impacts of extreme weather in England on the health of the population but is now a colour coded, impact-based service. It is mainly aimed at health professionals and those with long-term health conditions such as heart conditions.

Heat-Health Alerts and Cold-Health Alerts are part of the Weather-Health Alerting system, Heat Health Alerts (HHA) run from 1 June to 30 Sept. Heat

HHA will be sent directly to social and healthcare services in England, organisations such as Age UK, and appear on a new dedicated website. They will give advanced warning of any adverse weather conditions that could have a significant effect on health and well-being, enabling health care professionals to prepare and the public to take extra precautions to keep safe and well. The HHA’s will run alongside the Met Office Extreme Heat National Severe Weather Warning Service. Although the two services have a different focus, they will work together to highlight all potential impacts from extreme heat.

Will Lang, Head of Situational Awareness at the Met Office, said: “We are looking forward to working even more closely with UKHSA following the changes to the heat-health alerting system, building on the work we have already been doing together. The effects of human-induced climate change are already being felt on UK’s summer with an increase in the frequency, duration, and intensity of extreme heat events over recent decades and temperatures in excess of 40C recorded for the first-time last summer.”

“The updated health alerts will be complementary to and run alongside our UK wide National Severe Weather Warnings and will play a pivotal role in helping save lives, protect property and the economy as we all work to tackle adverse weather and climate change going forward. It is only by working in close partnerships with organisations like UKHSA that effective action can be taken when it matters.”

Dr Agostinho Sousa, Head of Extreme Events and Health Protection at the UK Health Security Agency, said: “Our heat-health alerting system plays a vital role in notifying professionals and the public of forecasted high temperatures that can affect the health of those most at risk, particularly individuals over the age of 65 and those with pre-existing health conditions.  Last year saw record high temperatures across England and evidence shows that heatwaves are likely to occur more often, be more intense and last longer in the years and decades ahead. It is important we are able to quantify the likely impacts of these heatwaves before they arrive to prevent illness and reduce the number of deaths.

The Met Office already have a system in place for heat waves; last year they issued their first red alert for one – (CLUE – they only introduced the system last year). There is no need therefore another layer; surely all of these care organisations, not to mention the public at large, are perfectly capable of understanding a weather forecast.

No, the real plan here is to bombard the public with Heat Alerts every time we get a bit of sunny weather.

As for the claim of saving lives, the fact remains that mortality rates are at their lowest in summer, even last year. If we are to have alerts for hot weather, what about an amber alert for April showers or a mild autumn day?

In reality, the heatwaves did not increase the number of deaths as they claim, they merely brought forward those deaths by a few days or weeks at the most, as the ONS told us in the special study they published last October:

We can see this clearly by looking at the July data. According to the ONS, the largest number of excess deaths occurred during July:

Yet the total the number of deaths in July was less than June’s on a daily rate, not to mention a lot lower than April and May:

There is no evidence that more people are dying in Britain because of hot summers.

Amazing how some of us survived the winter of 62/63 and the Summer of 76 without these non-jobbers around.

You know your government has grown too big when it has a Health Security Agency.

‘Security’ is a progressive word meaning “government takeover.” And you can bet your last pound that government will screw it up. It’s what they do.

They do this already. High UV. Also Hay Fever alerts. And also pollution level alerts for those with serious asthma conditions.

The hay fever/pollen count alerts are more useful – it’s not a nice thing to deal with – my partner is able to plan ahead if he goes for a country walk. Some years ago he came back from the country on a windy day with a high pollen count looking like a laboratory rabbit…

Sarah Caul of the Met Office doesn’t know what she is talking about. Most of those who died in the hot days last year were young people. Mostly young people who had imbibed too many substances and then jumped in a pond, lake, river or sea to cool off. They were unprepared for the shock of cold water on lungs and heart, or jumped into shallow water with weeds, rocks and other hazards or simply they just could not swim.

These instances were well documented by our media in 2022. There may well have been two tragic cases in just this last week in the sea off Bournemouth in 2023. Pay attention, Sarah!

If she did know what she was talking about she wouldn’t have a job at the Met Office.

‘Head of Situational awareness’, what on this planet is this job about?
Met Office is now definitely in the same box as the bbc. Pointless and useless.

Reminds me of what a girl at the gym said a few years ago. A friend of mine and I were discussing the weather forecast and the chance of rain. She said,

“Why don’t you look out the window?”

Yes the grinding misery of the other 10 months of the year of rain and cold and grey is their Nirvana it seems. These people need to be called out for what they are. Willing propagandists.

Do you realize there has to have been meetings to discuss this lowering of the bar and to force anything no matter how irrelevant or ridiculous into the news as a klymutt issue. Those meetings have to have happened in the BBC and clearly in the Met Office.

I see a clear route for multiple instant dismissals for abuse of position for political reasons. Worse, the organisers of such meetings I consider to have knowingly conspired to commit a criminal act. How else to describe lying to and manipulating public opinion while serving in a public funded government office?

It seems to have entirely escaped these AGW hoax buffoons that literally millions of British citizens – a large proportion of them above retiring age and perhaps not in the best of health – spend huge sums of their money every year flying and sailing to spots a LOT hotter than the UK gets with the explicit intention of enjoying the climate and certainly in my fairly extensive experience never end up come home in coffins.

      Strange folk…

I suspect this is another incremental addition to the “Nanny State” plan. Have a large part of the unemployed/unemployable population on benefits. Increase cost of living for heat, light etc. and for those benefits with occasional bonus payments to reinforce dependency. Limit travel using 15minute towns/cities. Limit electricity use with smart meters. All aimed at the WEF?UN goal. The time has come to man the barricades and mount nooses on the lampposts (as the French used to shout “a la lanterne”) for pro WEF proponents.

I just tried to find out more about said Dr Agostinho Sousa and I can find NOTHING except he is associated with this emotionally named suspicious quango where he is the “head of extreme events and health protection”. Just drink that in for a moment and process. WTF is he doing?????

Functioning systems are designed to deal with things going wrong. What on earth is this job title except to broadcast emotional twaddle which is the last thing you need in an emergency. This is Project Fear down to a tee.

So nothing bad is happening….. how do you keep Project Fear in the public sphere… you lower the bar until the mundane becomes the exceptional and a crisis. Always a crisis of this or that with never any empirical data of any kind shown to support the claim and this nonsense is duly regurgitated by the bought media which is read watched and listened to by the majority of the people. Just looking at America now bare faced lying is now commonplace in politics. Why? because they discovered there are no consequences for lying.

Look at all the Klumutt “expert” purveyors of doom. Not one prediction has ever come true. Has anyone of them been ridiculed or questioned about their clear ineptitude at doing their claimed job? As long as there are no consequences then the liars will hold the floor in this chamber. Worst of all they realize every time they lie “some people” will believe or remember their lie as a truth. Keep repeating the lie and more and more soft brained people will believe it. Personally I consider our current legal system allows lying on a public stage as part of political posturing. It is way beyond that now and legal consequences should exist for people in public office who lie.

“this nonsense is duly regurgitated by the bought media”

Journalists are in competition to best scare the people into accepting OWG/WEF. They are interviewing for a job with Klaus.

To put it another way, they aren’t writing for their readers. Their submissions are intended to get their readers to accept the agenda. Klaus et al are their customers; converting proles is their job; their readers are the product.

The grand parallel was journalists attacks on Trump, from when he came down the escalator. Circa 2016-2021. They were in competition for who could say the most outlandish thing about Trump. The level of absurdity was astounding. Journalists would say preposterous things; publishers would publish them without blinking.

For the government educated, Trump seemed worse than Satan. By design.

Speaking the truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act. We all know who said that. Everything used is right out of the KGB playbook. It is telling when regardless of the subject…climate, race, capitalism, yada yada yada the language is always the same because the people behind all of the causes fronted by the useful idiots are the same people.
It is clear that all of the dinosaur media in the US are compromised as their viewing/ reading numbers fall off a cliff. Tucker Carlson would often have a segment clearly showing that they all received the same memo to regurgitate. This is not news, this is the view from the Politburo. People I quite respect with scientific educations bought the anti Trump onslaught hook line and sinker which showed that if you like often enough then most people will believe you. Most shocking of all is…after the Durham Report the pathetic media just looked the other way. He is the most attacked politician in American history and there are hundreds who are complicit in this and “should” be serving jail sentences but not with Meritless Garland in charge of the DOJ. I thought what makes America great is a separation of powers. The marxists are infesting every aspect of government. WTF? !
