A heat health alert was issued for large parts of the UK as the Met Office predicted sizzling temperatures with some areas also expected to see windy disruptions.

As temperatures have been rising this week, the forecaster predicted the mercury to peak around 28C on Friday before unsettled weather returned.

I stopped taking any notice of the Met Office months ago – it’s recent tweaking of CET confirmed I did the right thing – it’s just another tentacle of the climate alarmist jellyfish

These people are out of control.

We are told about climate anxiety especially among children. Do these morons not realise the harm they are doing? My view is they do not care because it is all in the name of the glorious revolution, sorry slip of the digit, in the name of climate awareness and after all as the marxists continually tell us, you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette.

‘Do they not know the harm they are doing?’ Yes, of course they do. They have a mission – and the fact that children could be affected means nothing to them. When you’re saving the world – or making it ready for your own political hegemony – it means nothing in the grand scheme of things. My grandson now delights in telling me that coffee is a drug (because his teacher said so!) is coming up nine. I despair of the rubbish he will be taught regarding CC.

28? What would they do if it actually got warm enough not to have to wear a pullover or jacket all the time, for example mid thirties as normal in many countries and even mid forties in places like Dubai

“At the heart of every Center Parcs break, is our incredible water park, the Subtropical Swimming Paradise. Heated to 29.5C all year round and decked in lush green tropical plants and trees, it’s perfect for the whole family to enjoy, whatever the weather!”

Do Center Parcs give heat warnings to all their clintele? IsCenter Parcs a dangerous place to visit? Is theMet Office talking BS?

It is just past Noon here in central Washington State, USA.
My local temperature is 34°C (94°F). Yesterday was 40 (104). While still summer, a cooling trend is expected to continue. Am told it will go to 27 (80) tomorrow.
I expect to see a wall of ice advancing on my driveway by the end of August.

Heat health alerts are supposed to be for ‘extended periods of hot weather’, it says here…

    I don’t think *Friday* qualifies 🙄

28 Celsius is neither unusual nor remarkable in the UK. Off the top of my head, so I stand to be corrected, the only year in the past 100 not to exceed 29 degrees is 1962. In fact 28 Celsius with sun and no cloud will give us a glorious day.

28degC serms like a pleasantly warm- not hot- day. What is to follow that just sounds like typical British summer weather

My forecast for London shows 23 and rain! Meanwhile here is SW France, we were forecast 39 for today last week, now 33. Its 38 for Monday supposedly but I don’t doubt it won’t get there. The sad thing is, everyone thinks it’s hot because of the forecasts, even when it then gets nowhere near.

The Met Office site that I can see shows a wind warning for strong easterly winds – in west Wales – and a separate warning for thunderstorms in the south and south east of England. Nothing else. Their forecast for the Lakes shows light coloured cloud all day, no rain until 2100. The forecast text immediately below that is for developing showers during the day, some possibly thundery. Max temp is 19C. How much did that computer cost us again?

extreme heat and strong winds….. that’s Maui conditions.. I wonder if they will have people coincidentally roaming the moors with boxes of matches.
On a brighter note, BBC news this morning had a feature on collapsing cliffs (mainly Dorset last week but also threw in Norfolk) and they only mentioned “extreme weather” once …… someone is off message

A ‘boiling’ 66F here in Surrey and raining steadily. Apparently now we have a warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms. Perhaps if the MetOrifice were to become a weather forecaster as opposed to an ecofascist activist group they might do better.

The Met office warnings are bloody stupid now, it is raining here in Harlow and very dull. where is the 28 degrees of heat?????? Nowhere this proves that the met office are not fit for purpose

Surely the Met Office must realise that issuing warnings for such temperate conditions is counter productive. People will make the quite reasonable conclusion that if they’re getting scared about such pleasant conditions, then future warming is no real threat.

It’s time the Met office lost its government funding – it’s just a pressure group now and not a responsible and competant forecaster of our weather.

I think the Met Office, BBC and MSM are in a competition to see who can make the biggest “we’re going to fry” fuss at the lowest temperature and get away with it.
So far the MO is leading by a short head

Why doesn’t somebody try and EDUCATE these people rather than leave them to continue to lie about this amazing planet God created for US ALL which we should try and enjoy rather than whittering on about how “we” are going to destroy it. If anyone is going to destroy it, it will be GOD – its Maker not us, the most pathetic, puny little human beings !!!!
