BBC Planet Earth III Exposed

Real experts expose Attenborough’s latest pack of lies:
BBC Planet Earth III left viewers in tears on Sunday evening with scenes of soggy flamingo chicks struggling to survive storm surges and turtle hatchlings battling sea level rises.
“The planet has changed beyond recognition,” warned Sir David Attenborough gravely, “Transformed by a powerful force. Us.”
Yet despite the gloomy tone set by the programme, many of the animals featured in the episode are faring surprisingly well, thanks to global conservation efforts.
On Raine Island, at the northern tip of the Great Barrier Reef, programme-makers suggested that the world’s largest turtle rookery was facing annihilation through a double threat of warming sands and sea-level rise.
“If sea levels rise as predicted within the next 30 years, Raine Island will disappear beneath the waves,” said Sir David.
But research by James Cook University, in Australia, suggests that Raine Island has actually been growing in recent years.

A paper published in Global and Planetary Change found that between 1967 and 2007, the island grew by six per cent in area and volume by four per cent, and concluded that the perception it is being eroded may come from the seasonal redistribution of sand.
One of the authors, Prof Scott Smithers, told The Telegraph: “Estimates of it being washed away in three decades is an overstatement based on current trends.”
The Raine Island Recovery Project has also successfully reprofiled the beach, moving 40,000 cubic metres of sand to raise the height and prevent tidal inundation, doubling the turtle nesting area.
Conservationists estimate that 1.5 million more turtle hatchlings have begun life on the reef since work began, with a further 3.6 million expected by 2030.
A spokesman for the project said: “The Raine Island Recovery Project has changed the game for conservation management and successfully restored the world’s largest green turtle nesting area.”
The foundation is also creating a network of climate change “arks” on other high-priority island habitats such as Lady Elliot Island where it has increased the turtle nesting area by 125 per cent.
Planet Earth III also warned that warming sands were causing turtle sex ratios to be skewed dramatically towards females which could lead to a population crash.
Professor Ricky Spencer, founder of the 1 Million Turtles Community Conservation Program and Western Sydney University, modelled the outcome of increased females and found the change may be beneficial.
“More female turtles in populations does provide greater population resilience,” he said. “An army of available female turtles ensures that reproductive output is maintained.”
Elsewhere in the episode, viewers were shown devastation caused to flocks of flamingos nesting in the The Yucatan Peninsula in southeast Mexico.
“Some years, no chicks survive in this colony,” warned Sir David who informed viewers that storms were arriving earlier each year, catching out the nesting birds.
Yet the programme failed to mention that Caribbean flamingos are booming, with numbers having risen from 21,500 in 1956 to around 850,000 today.

The species is currently listed “of least concern” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) with population numbers continuing to increase.
Likewise the programme mentions difficulties faced by Cape fur seals at the Robberg Peninsula in South Africa. But the creatures only returned to the nature reserve in the 1990s after being hunted to near extinction by the late 1800s.
Since then, their populations have risen from fewer than 300 animals in 2000, to around 6,000 today.
It is a similar story for Southern Right whales – so named because they were the “right” whale to hunt – which were driven to the brink of extinction by the mid-20th century by South Atlantic whaling fleets.

But with the ban on commercial whaling in 1986, the species has rebounded. The last count by the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) in 2009 estimates there are now 13,611 in the wild, with the species listed “of least concern” by the IUCN.
Those first two paragraphs tell us so much about Attenborough’s strategy to fool the public.
Chicks and hatchlings of all species die all the time, wherever you look. In fact, I suspect that in many cases more die than actually survive. But Attenborough wants you to think this is something unusual, and that it is our fault by using emotive images:
As usual the commenters are wise to this:

Why would the BBC not lie and allow ‘our national treasure’ to distort the actuality because they can get away with it since in Ofcom’s eyes they can do no wrong??
Anyone surprised that Attenbollox is telling lies again follow his lying about the walrus haul out? Or the BBC that confirmed that they believe it is fine to lie and can’t bring themselves to label their Hamas friends as terrorists as well as rushing to lie about the Gaza hospital would provide him with a platform to do so? Shame on Sushi in his Commons statement for failing to name the BBC directly for promoting lies.
A large number of commenters (me included) say they have given up watching any of Attenborough’s more recent documentaries. But most viewers have no idea they are being lied to, with climate change propaganda. The harm caused to young people by the relentless doom and gloom propaganda is a disgrace.
And, as Peter Kettle pointed out in the piece, they are being lied to by a Mathusian: one who has no qualms about wanting to drastically reduce the world’s human population yet makes a song and dance about any perceived reduction in wildlife populations. What needs to be made very clear to the naive audience is just what Attenborough, as a supporter of Malthus, actually believes.
The whole CC scam is aimed at the young. classic “catch’em young” strategy with Greta as the patron Saint of young eco-warriors.
I have stopped watching all of Attenborough’s program’s, in fact I stopped watching anything on the BBC when they start spouting their climate change propaganda. I once admired this man but he has been bought – the number of people that believe everything that comes out of his mouth without even questioning are as bad as him. I wish folk would wake up to this clap trap
WHERE is OFCOM????
I saw about 15 minutes of the first episode and spent it shouting at the screen and the smug presenter. A friend told me about it and put it on the TV telling how wonderful it was. Everything was set up to make you feel that this was an even and balanced and sophisticated presentation. Lying by emission was the cornerstone of the presentation of geology. For example. Mr Smug when referring to geological history ignored the main lessons from Geology.
1. Only one other time in Geological History has the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere been as low as today
2. Back in the Cambrian when there was an explosion in diversity, atmospheric CO2 level was 7000ppm
3. When the Angiosperms ( plants we eat) evolved the level was 2400-2800ppm
4. The average concentration over geological time is 2500ppm
5. When the Primates evolved the level was 1500ppm
6. The atmospheric concentration of CO2 has been in linear decline for 160 million years caused by the evolution of marine organisms sucking CO2 out of the Carbon Cycle and locking it up in carbonaceous rocks when they die.
7. During the first part of the current Ice Age the atmospheric concentration of CO2 fell to 180ppm, 30ppm only above the death of plants. We certainly dodged a bullet then!
8. multiple original research shows there is NO correlation of any kind between CO2 and the surface temperature of the Planet…NONE! Reinforcing this observation there exists NO empirical data of any kind linking CO2 to atmospheric temperature, NONE! There IS empirical data which shows that IF there is a significant greenhouse gas then that gas is WATER VAPOUR not CO2.
9. The Greenland Ice Cores show clearly that temperature rise predates atmospheric CO2 rise by around 800 years unlike what the fraud of history Al Gore presented. The saw tooth effect he waffled on about is the degassing of the ocean, nothing at all to do with humans burning anything.
He told none of this, instead telling us CO2 is THE greenhouse gas! That is a LIE. We have geological data and physics to show us that claim is false.
Why did he omit to inform about all that other relevant information I wonder why except because he had agreed to be part of a very plush propaganda piece pushing activist twaddle….or as you and I know them…LIES at licence payers expense.
Where is OFCOM indeed. The current CEO of this august organisation is Melanie Dawes. From Wiki:-
Dame Melanie Henrietta Dawes DCB (born 9 March 1966) is a British economist and civil servant. Since February 2020 she has been Chief Executive of Ofcom. She was previously the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, and before that worked at HM Treasury, HM Revenue and Customs, and in the Cabinet Office. She is a Trustee of the Patchwork Foundation, founded by Harris Bokhari.
She is also a fully fledged member of WEF. (Not from wiki). She recently gave a presentation to OFCOM employees (on line of course) about the current operational success of OFCOM, where her biggest source of pride was the success in meeting their diversity employment targets, where for each appointment there had to be specific percentages of various LBQT etc. These were not small percentages. Surprisingly there was no mention in the desired applicant attributes about the ability to actually accomplish the tasks required for the posts.
And I await with bated breath for the calls to ensure that PL football, nursing, athletics and the senior ranks of the Civil Service met diversity quotas. Dawes appears to be a middle class, straight, able-bodied white person. Perhaps she should stand down in favour of an actual diversity candidate?
Re: coecharlesdavid:
So Dame Dawes’ biggest source of pride had nothing to do with OFCOM’s prime function. It almost suggests that OFCOM is approaching redundancy. Where is the intellectual ability that these appointments are supposed to require. As usual the fault is not in the appointee whether brilliant or mediocre but in the body/person who made the appointment.
The recruiter has only one question at the interview: “Are you one of us?” That is why the organisation is doomed for failure, it will drop down a spiral of incompetence of its own doing.
Well said. The snag is very few are listening, and most believe the endless claptrap of the BBC.
Lying by ’emission’ is great (even if unintended) definitely stealing that. BBC definitely guilty of multiple counts of ‘offensive effluvia’. Fingers crossed for ‘The King on the application of Mark Steyn vs The Office of Communications’ in The High Court of Justice King’s Bench Division.

The Greenland Ice Cores show clearly that temperature rise predates atmospheric CO2 rise by around 800 years
That is a correlation of sorts, but obviously a long-delayed one. The oceans move in mysterious ways etc., but as we’re here mentioning all this, clearly not leading to the end of life on earth.
The BBC is simply a disgrace. It is so completely infested with woke “progressive” thinking that it is beyond redemption. Having said that, ITV News, Channel4 and SKY are not so very far behind.
“The planet has changed beyond recognition” is an out and out lie. It is completely untrue. Not a single place, let alone the planet, has changed beyond recognition because of climate change. The recovery from the last Ice Age continues to have far more impact.
The planetAttenbore has changed beyond recognition. Fixed. In a stable population, almost ALL chicks die before they can reproduce. In the lifetime of a female, only two will survive – on average. Life is hard for animals in the wild.
the bbc also reported on the ancient rock carvings exposed on the amazon due to low water levels
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-67204409
This states “The Brazilian government attributes the drought to climate change and the El Niño weather phenomenon” (so part correct)….. It also quotes an archaeologist who stated that these carvings were made in pre-columbian times (so over 700 years ago).
What they fail to explain is given that droughts etc are due to climate change due to man made global warming and post industrial CO2, how come all that time ago the rivers were so low that the locals could, (and thought it worth it) , carve on these exposed rocks. Was it warmer then? or did they have scuba gear If it was warmer, how come? iron age charcoal making?
They just dont see the contradictions here
you can also see a BBC video on the website about artifacts 700 years -> older coming out of the ice in Norway. The irony is completely lost on them ( I think deliberately so). They try it on with each of the “experts” until one sits down and is “very sad” that this is all happening….what…that it is as warm today as it was 700 years ago???????
The shear arrogance of the BBC is breathtaking.
As we saw last year in Europe with hunger stones being exposed in rivers. It’s climate change to expose things that were exposed centuries ago. I actually think the presenters don’t get it. They are not very bright and have no ability to think about their beliefs.
Isn’t that why people cling to irrational beliefs? They don’t bother to think.
No wonder they are in a bad way. Rookery’s are high in trees. A totally unsuitable place for turtles which will fall and crack their shells
Maybe the world has not changed beyond recognition, but the western world has: we are continually assaulted by insidious propaganda. This propaganda is aimed at controlling the masses into accepting their climate-related fate of increased poverty, to reduce local carbon emissions….. as world emissions continue upwards.
The truly disingenuous bit is that only those “experts and scientists” who agree with the aim are allowed to have media access. GB News is the only hope but the Fat Controllers are trying desperately to stop that by restricting advertising and using Ofcom.
And how would those global conservation efforts get to the wildlife? Oh! By fossil fuel burning aircraft and land vehicles or maybe by the most polluting of all: shipping. And then how did Attenborough and his camera operators and sound recordists get there? Oh! More fossil fuel emissions!!!
Another thing about David Attenborough is that he is thought by some people, including Jeremy Clarkson, to be the actual highest paid employee of the BBC, but never appears on the annual list of its most well-paid stars. The person who takes the flak for being the highest paid BBC employee is of course Gary Lineker.
https://www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/1472493/Jeremy-Clarkson-David-Attenborough-bbc-salary-pay-list-2021-news-latest-update
Clarkson speculated in 2021 that the criteria for getting on the BBC list has been devised in such a manner that it keeps Attenborough off the list, presumably so that it doesn’t reduce the impact of Attenborough’s environmental messaging.
I was in Namibia this year and went to the Cape Fur Seal colony at Cape Cross on the Skeleton Coast. Apart from the stench of fish, rotting seal carcasses (infant mortality) and sea birds its pretty spectacular and thriving. The current status of the southern Africa west coast population is reported as:
“Cape Cross Seal Colony, in Namibia, is the breeding place of the Cape Fur Seals, which are actually a species of Sea Lion. Along the Namibian and South African coast there are 24 colonies with a seal population of about 650 000 animals. About 80 000 to 100 000 seals inhabit Cape Cross.”
So I don’t think there is any shortage of Cape Fur Seals likely anytime soon.
Excellent comment on the BBC programme by Peter Kettle but he needs to understand that CO2 is NOT pollution!
I suspect a small ‘lie’ to appease those who must be believed to get his comment published!!
Exactly, important to challenge the lies every time and not appease the liars (or merely ignorant).
Heaven knows but the BBC has the money to cover presidential elections in the US –12+ were sent to the US the last time — but prefer sensationalism to the hard graft of getting their research data up to date. About 50 years ago Walt Disney (?) made a fine wildlife program ( The Living Desert ?) but light on the gloom factor so no fuel to frighten the impressionable of all ages. Attenborough came much later.
I hope that pardonmeforbreathing ( above) has been in touch with the producer of Attenborough’s latest jeremiad.
He also threw lemmings off a cliff for the lols, as I understand it.
Attenborough has lost all his critical faculties as he has got older and now has just become obsessed with the climate change myth. He is thus now a useful idiot for the climate change priests at the BBC to promulgat their warped agenda.
Attenborough in his younger days made excellent wild life programmes which were a joy to watch – what a come down for a once well respected presenter.
That’s what happens when people start believing in their own publicity
This is part of the problem – Attenborough didn’t make those programmes, he just stood in front of the camera. These days, ignoring the climate change propogada, the wildlife programmes are also full of other BS, speculation about animal behaviour presented as fact.
Attenborough is a disgrace, sold out to the green lunatics to fund his trips round the world. Maybe he believes his own crap even though the evidence that refutes his claims is readily available.
Mark Steyn, the former GBNews presenter, has long been involved legally versus Ofcom.
‘Don’t look to GB News management to man up, Chris. Of the woeful troika named above, Nick Pollard is the GB News “Ofcom compliance officer” (a title that would shame any self-respecting broadcast network). He’s a former Ofcom director and chairman of their so-called “Content Board”. In other words, he’s Ofcom’s enforcer inside the building: he’s on their side.
So, when Michael Grade and his censors announced their first investigation into me over certain disturbing statistical trends re the “efficacy” of the Covid vaccines, Pollard invited me to send him my defence of what I’d said so GBN could forward it to Ofcom. Only one problem:
He never forwarded it to Ofcom.
(Pollard, by the way, is the man who “investigated” the BBC’s “coverage” of Jimmy Savile.)’
https://www.steynonline.com/13683/ofcommed-into-oblivion
Instead of listening to Attenborough, the Steeple would be better of reading Orwell’s 1984 to find out what’s really going on!
Sheeple, not steeple! Doh!
Some years ago wasn’t Sir Boaty MacAttenboroughface caught faking ‘natural’ photography in the wild, in the studio?
I have stopped watching most recent documentaries as they are finger-wagfests about climate change and in fact any activity of Mankind, plus many are presented by superannuated adolescents who speak to us like we are seven year olds.
I had enough of the national treasure when, in an episode of the Blue Planet series, he put some mollusc shells into a tank where they dissolved with streams of bubbles. This was posited as an illustration of what may happen with global warming.
The fact is there is no feasible partial pressure of CO2 which could lower the pH to these levels. Remember the oceans are alkaline.
The BBC has now dropped down to the scum level of its partner organisation – the Grauniad.
Can anyone really find it acceptable that a speech made to a parliamentary committee and broadcast live by an MP of nearly 14 years standing would have “corrective” sub titles added and that the so called “watchdog” Ofcom would find that acceptable?
https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/bbc-puts-corrective-subtitles-under-mps-parliament-speech-5513941?
This is frankly Nazism at its worst.
Sorry, senior moment, meant to post this under the other Ofcom/BBC/GB Newsthread.
STORY TIP, Paul…
Regarding the BBC, tonight on Midlands Today (around 6:45) they did a piece on grid battery storage. They showed a place near Wednesbury (I think it was) that had 76 large, container-sized batteries installed on a football-field-sized site. The commentary from the studio was cringe-making: (I paraphrase) “Here, we have a battery set up which, in the event of a blackout can provide enough power for a small town. The battery holds 33,000 volts(!!!!!!)” I’m afraid I couldn’t catch all the rest of the hype as I was too busy shouting at the screen…!
BBC iPlayer at 18mins20 seconds in.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001rtnb/midlands-today-evening-news-25102023
Yes Harry the presenter really does say “33,000 volts of electricity”!!!!!
The lunatics are not only in control of the asylum but also boasting about their own lunacy.
Plus 1, Ray. Thanks for providing the link.
My ATCO lawn mower probably produces about that in volts, but I don’t believe it would power a small town!
Worse than that, the Climate Change Committee report to government, on grid-level energy storage, measured the UK storage system in gw…!

Ralph
Me too also! Said to the good lady ‘and what are they not telling us?’………….JUST HOW LONG COULD THE BATTERIES POWER A SMALL TOWN?
As a professional Electrical Engineer & HV PM in the energy / power generation sectors for over 4 decades, I’ve installed many diesel & gas (natural & anaerobic) peaking plants around the country at both 11kV & 33kV grid connections – I’ve also PM’d a 10MW/2MWh BESS grid support battery plant, on a 15 year grid EFR contract, also at an 11kV grid connection
Hundreds of these were/are being installed to replace the large base load coal & nuclear plants successive Govts have closed – our energy system has been left to rack and ruin, due to incompetent Energy Ministers not having a clue what they were doing – the never ending increase of renewables on our grid are making it unstable and unwilling to meet demand – blackouts and demand side rationing are coming
I didn’t know much about D Attenborough initially and my partner told me about how all his original nature programs they’d fed animals to get them in front of camera’s but had (he said) implied they’d filmed them in the wild under natural circumstances. He detested him as he revered honesty at all times and with DA you cannot be sure at all.
So I’ve cautiously enjoyed watching a few of his programs for the camera work and the ‘taking me around the world’ to places I could never afford to get to, and take most of what he says with a pinch of salt. I have never understood why so many seem to think he’s some amazing person!
When I had an amazing treat an got to the Barrier Reef in very early 2019 they pointed out in no uncertain terms that ‘all we hear about the Reef dying’ (all agreed) isn’t, it’s FINE, it’s ALWAYS going through this growing and dying process it’s quite natural.
Whilst I wasn’t, (as I’d already know a lot of this is all twaddle), surprised, it makes me wonder if barely anything Government or ‘Peer’s’ or any ‘respectable’ Body aren’t bought off, or quiet deals struck, in order to have the bulk of the population just ‘believe’ what t hey are told. I make time to self educate and find the truth. Sadly, many don’t have time or even question what they are told.
Our national treasure has become a national disgrace.
It has been a disgrace for decades.im old enough to remember their “unemployment watch: during Thatchers premiership, a number on the right hand side of every news program purporting to show how many people had lost their jobs. No net count of course and no commentary on why. Then there was the sympathetic coverage of Sinn Fein, when everyone knew the leaders were IRA. The coverage of Blair and Brown was extraordinary, sycophantic and adultery before they were elected and then applauding when they won in 1997. Then of course we had their coverage of so-called “austerity”. I could go on but it’s 40 years of Left-wing bias now.
Adulatory, not adultery!
I hope they did not use any diesel fuel, in re-profiling that island. Emitting Co2 can never be good. We know that, because Greta the Gremlin said so…
R
I thought Greens were against man’s interference with nature. Let’s face it, the reason the island became a risk to turtles in the first place was man mining out the centre of it.
I thought Greens were against man’s interference with nature. Let’s face it, the reason the island became a risk to turtles in the first place was man mining out the centre of it.
Are you two playing snap!
Attenborough has the carbon footprint of a small city and has for decades, his ilk are responsible for more global pollution than many small nations – the fact he hasn’t long left on planet earth, he now wants to regress the living standards of everyone else – he’s an hypocritical fool
I have been unable for some years now to watch/listen to any of the BBC’s output as it raises my allready high blood pressure to the point of apoplexy.
I think I have spelt that correctl.
Don’t forget that this site gave space wow! To a multi page Major Complaint in 2016 I think which devoted Chapter 8 entirely to Attenboro’s non science, his errors, his bias, his blatant ignorance over more than a decade
