India To Increase Coal Production By 60%

Emperor Wind may have no clothes, but King Coal carries on regardless!

New Delhi: The Union coal ministry on Monday announced plans to increase India’s coal production to 1.404 billion tonne by 2027, with an eye to further boost it to 1.577 billion tonne by 2030.
Current domestic production hovers around one billion tonne annually. This increase in output aims to ensure ample supply of domestic coal to India’s thermal power plants, which are essential for the country’s growing energy needs

Good for India, looking after their own needs. We should have done the same many years ago.
To think that the UK has stopped coal when it peaked at about 100m tpa. What an effect on the world total we had!! It is a good job that CO2 has so little effect on global temperatures looking at the eastern expansion of coal. The doom forecasts over the last 40 years look pretty feeble now.
What an effect on the world total we had … yes, DIDN’T we …. or ARE we? Huh isn’t it all of a very big SAD JOKE ? What’s happened to that wee molecules of Caahbonn -as the ILLITERATES like to call it. CO2 as it is, IS our Plant food, is then OUR Primary source of food, Maybe that fact needs to be pointed out more often. Publicised but we know already that the horses have been chased out of the stall by the PIGS and with their noses in the trough, hear nothing but their own grunts. Time to Harvest the Pigs then, but the horses have fled, Looks like the new draught animal of choice / NECESSITY will have to be ……. 🙂
Wonderful, Wonderful, News!
As a curious person, I want to see a proper test of the theory that carbon dioxide emissions, attributable to humans, warm the whole world. A proper test involves a real dollop of emissions over the next twenty years. Good for India! Good for Indonesia, etc! Good for all of them.
If the theory was correct, a definitive paper would already exist considering the $billlions spent on research to prove it. There is NO paper.
Great news – well done India – reliable, secure, affordable electricity is far more important to society than a climate crisis hoax peddled by globalist shills
Ha ha ha…. and when did King Charles last look out? Wouldn’t it even be nice to know that he even get a finger on the pulse here, a Nom de plume correspondence even?
“…King Charles…”
For seventy years, the Establishment has been smugly convinced that it can still tell the rest of the World what to do despite having no “boots on the ground,” anywhere. Without its Empire, no one cares about Britain or what it wants! We are back to the traditional fate of little islands, which is to be modest regional powers.
Dave, but aren’t we the saudi arabia of wind with oven ready nuclear fusion? Aren’t we leading the world in net zero madness?
You underestimate the UK!
“.. aren’t we the saudi arabia of wind..” Only when we’re NOT producing very much – like today. King Coalie is the GOTO guy . Like the Saudis, better to keep your Oil in the ground, so we keep our wind in our pipe(dreams). https://gridwatch.co.uk/ Big demand, little supply, from solar or wind.
At 7:40 GMT today, 17th November, solar was 0.00 GW and wind was 1.23 GW, against a demand for electricity of 34.92 GW.
I wonder if the Government actually thinks such a period of low production from renewables represents a deliberate decision on the part of the grid managers not to tap into that source, for a while for some minor reason?
The only alternative explanations that I can see for always glossing over the intermittency problems are:
(1) The Government somehow thinks wind and solar is in the future and is
not really “on line” yet;
(2) The Government knows we are heading for disaster; and regards the
interests of the People as totally irrelevant, compared to pats on the back for
the British representatives, from socialists and world elitists, at international
meetings;
(3) Since there is quite a bit of money floating around for the insiders, the
attitude is, “I’m all right Jack!”
However, from the point of view of psychology, perhaps the best explanation is that,
(4) The Establishment is in the position of Macbeth who, having listened to a
crazy-bad adviser (Lady Macbeth,) doubled-down on his bet, because,
“I am in blood
Stept in so far that, should I wade no more,
Returning were as tedious as go o’er.”
Well I was thinking along those lines again today: Lunchtime Wind ZERO POINT66Gw so 670,000 Kilo Watts for the Daft of hearing. … Cold dull & Dreich … and how does that affect Mental Health – to be topical.
Now if I used that as an excuse and was a Firebrand, living very close to London and been very personally affected by all this spending nonsense ( in the PLURAL), would you blame me, or encourage me to take matters in my own hands for the benefit of Normality and the Nation, to take out those plonkers “in there” – ALL od them!
But “we” sit down and talk it over around the red Sofa nonsense …. echo chambers. The Swamp grows daily, affecting the plants and flora around, the poisoned roots just spreading the rot.
saighdear, you touched on why it isn’t going to change. Collapse is inevitable.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” – Edmund Burke.
We are in the late decadence phase of the ever repeated prosperity, decadence, collapse cycle.
The prosperity of the West led to its decadence. We are told bizarre things every day; wokeness has taken over our institutions. Yet, we do nothing. Because we are prosperous. We will NOT risk our prosperity by speaking up. Nations will collapse, and we will do nothing. We hope the alligator will eat us last.
It is fruitless to get moralistic about it; it is the way civilization works.
Yes I know, Gamecock, Kind of been there, as Gramps tell us. … and that’s the BIG trouble. Being a responsible Business owner, Landlord, Employer etc…. I repeat RESPONSIBLE, and brought up to be a good & respectable person, WHERE do you draw the line – when enough is enough, but public / POPULAR (?) Media fights against you, Lose my head and the business is gone ( as per my planned future for it). Mama used to tell me NOT to fly with the Craws – you’ll get shot with them, or that other one – ‘come jump in the River – it’s fine and warm and Fun…. only to get swept away and drowned. THAT put the fear o’ death in us. The Orrin had a bad name for that in the summer time ( Mountain stream liable to flash floods)
Now you say ” It is fruitless to get moralistic about it; it is the way civilization works.” Morals, Scruples and the rest. – who taught us all that ? I never liked Literature in skool, Stoopit Billy Sh. – ‘ow de ‘eck would I know what he was thinking when he wrote all that guff, Burns was certainly on / UNDR some other influence too. So had we gone to Eatin, we’d have learnt NOT to THINK too much…aye THINKING too much – the cause of ADHD… according to something on Sat TV lunchtime … is it ADHD week / month?- they’re ALL talking about it – lack of drugs etc. Gimme a break – Chase the folk out to do a worthwhile physical job: Clear the Drains & ditches, rebuild the smashed Fences & Dykes, etc. Takes the mind off nonsense, but it allows the stoopit politicos to continue …yes….working off your Anger – for a while, only for it to return with a vengeance.
Surely there are some good folk around , we implore them , to ACT now and destroy the many Hydras… Humboldt Squid ?
and finally, … doing nothing because we are / WERE prosperous, does not help our future. Gramps says that since T Bliar came into power – already so long ago, he’s seen business going South!.
Anecdata:
“come jump in the River – it’s fine and warm and Fun…. only to get swept away and drowned. THAT put the fear o’ death in us.”
Gamecock’s mother was born and raised on the New River, across from Fayetteville, WV. Her father worked in the Nuttallburg Mine. She told me that the people were terrified of the river. It was cold and deep and fast. At least one person died in it every year.
FF to today. The river is Fayette County’s biggest industry. There are 25 rafting companies taking people out on the river.
“Surely there are some good folk around , we implore them , to ACT now and destroy the many Hydras”
I told my son a few years ago that he was going to have to save the world – it’s not my job anymore.
So how is he getting on? …
Maybe you’ll be finding out that it’s all a Generational thing, ‘Move over Grand Pa’ …. and what then, on Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s thoughts?
More Martin Niemöller for now.
a nationalist conservative that concentrates on upholding national and cultural identity. – the same one?
Someone prosperous who did nothing.
