81,000 Off To Dubai To Enjoy The Sunshine & Fine Dining!
By Paul Homewood
There seem to be two immutable facts about COPs:
- Each meeting sees higher emissions than the one before
- The number of attendees carries on rising each year
https://unfccc.int/news/cop26-facts-and-figures
About 40,000 attended COP26 in Glasgow, but the provisional list for the UAE adds up to an astonishing 81029:
Party Delegates: 51695
UN: 1488
Specialist Agencies: 1369
Intergovernmental Organisations: 1897
Non Governmental Organisations: 14899
Guests: 5709
Media: 3972
The UK is sending 697 official delegates: everybody from the King down to the Director of Policy at the Natural History Museum!
Meanwhile the BBC’s contribution to saving the planet is 40 staff.
Far be it from me to suggest that most of these are only going for the sun and sumptuous dining!
But if you really wanted to come to a climate agreement, would it not be more effective to just send a few delegates from each country, and let them negotiate with each other directly?

Its rather good that so many klingons and parasites with non-jobs attend these gratuitous excuses for luxury holidays. It shows the poor public how their taxes and charity donations are squandered by hypocritical parasites.
This gratuitous and growing waste of our money and resources should wake the silent majority up to how they are being scammed. It needs to be front page headlines continually how these grifters are wasting the planet.
The annual COPs and Robbers event is preceded by the policy crafting event in Bonn every year:
https://www.unep.org/events/conference/bonn-climate-change-conference
“The 58th sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SB 58) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will take place at the World Conference Center Bonn (WCCB) in Bonn, Germany, from 5 to 15 June 2023.
Building on the mandates that emerged from COP 27 in Egypt last year, the conference will host a large number of mandated events and continue discussions on issues of critical importance, such as the global stocktake, global goal on adaptation, just transition, loss and damage and the mitigation work programme. The conference is expected to make progress on these and other important issues and prepare draft decisions for adoption at COP 28 / CMP 18 / CMA 5 in the UAE in December 2023”
Conference website:

A reminder from Voltaire: ‘The comfort of the rich depends upon an abundant supply of the poor’.
Wise words then, wise words now.
“Regarding catering, 95% of food served at the conference is seasonal and from the UK, with at least 80% of this coming from Scotland. By calculating the carbon footprint of food served in the Blue Zone and displaying it on the menus, attendees can make sustainable food choices.
84 kg of locally harvested Mara Seaweed is used as an entirely sustainable substitute for salt in dishes, requiring neither fertilizer, fresh water, nor soil to grow. In addition, 750 kg of Scottish berries were harvested in the summer and preserved using 250 kg of Scottish Heather Hills Honey.”
So not only flying the “Director of Policy at the Natural History Museum” and countless other “Scientists” to Dubai, but “95% of food”.
Why? Who is picking up the tab for that? Not the British taxpayer, by any chance? Does the Scottish food include Halal Sheep’s eyeballs, by any chance? Camels’ testicles? What are they going to do with a tonne of Scottish berries and honey? The imagination boggles.
I can’t immediately see a list of the participating “Scientists”. The same 400+ ‘experts’ from Equatorial Guinea as attended Katowice, is it? Or have they found another bunch?
A tonne of anything between 80k people is 12.5g each. So Scottish berries in honey only for the top table, Rowlatt and the like.
Are you talking about the food at COP26 (in Glasgow) or COP28 ? I can’t believe 95% of the food at COP28 is British……?
Having poked about more carefully, you are right. In a list of UNFCCC COP28 documents, the one I looked at is labelled COP26. Perhaps yet to be updated. But since the whole thing is in Bizarro World anyway, I am only somewhat repentant.
I have downloaded a monster Excel File with the list of participants which is enough to discombobulate anyone. Looks like 24,488 “Parties”, of which 75 are from UK. But then “overflow Parties”, “Intergovernmental Organisations”, Non-Governmental Organisations”, “Global Climate Action” and much besides. 3,972 “Media” people. A total of 3,081 “Parties” and “Overflow Parties” from Brazil. Never mind NGOs etc.
I’ll have to have a closer look. I know Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is a corrept Socialist. But who’s minding the shop?
Keeping the NGOs away would be a start. Followed by keeping the non-scientists and the pseudo-scientists’ grubby fingers off the IPPC’s Summary for Policymakers every four years.
Too much, I suppose, to keep the UN at arms-length as well?
The expense to the UK?
Say £10,000 for each representative (including Charlie) and BBC staff, including flights, hotels, food, expenses etc.
£7,370,000 (Seven million, three hundred and seventy thousand GPB) by my calculations.
So that’s what they meant by ‘UK climate leadership’?
Surely if the “science is settled” there is no need for any scientists to attend at all, they can get on with settling some science that isn’t settled instead.
As far as I know there aren’t any scientists attending as per usual. A few ‘climate scientists’ will attend but as we all know that is not a real scientific discipline. And given that these are political events not scientific events, scientists are not needed anyway.
Hundreds of scientists at the United Nations COP28 climate summit.

“Media: 3972” says it al really.
There’s a pair of ‘Hairdressers’ listed under that Media tab!
I wonder what the total cost will be? And hat is the total cost f all 28 COPs to date? And the total cost of all the other climate change boondoggles?
I was just thinking that if COP28 didnt happen at all and the delegates just got on with things in thier own countries and all the logistics and infrastructure wasnt there and all the flights didnt happen and the food wasnt served, you get the idea. the planet would be ahead a little.
As an aside while fretting about what level to have the heating set to and whether my myriad of LED lamps actually save anything I inadvertantly typed in to my browser. “SKIWORLD Abu Dhabi” .
That put things in perspective. Anf finally I have a freind who regularly does business in that area. it would appear that the vast majority of cars, suv’s etc ALL have huge V8 petrol engines,
Seeing as the UAE is literally floating on oil I would imagine petrol and diesel is relatively cheap 🙂
Environmentalists wouldn’t be flying to Dubai. Climate activists would.
What can they all possibly be doing? You can’t have 81,000 people speaking, and you can’t have a ‘committee’ of 81,000 people, and if you pro-rata that number across counties, why does any country need that many?
Be fair. Liechtenstein only has 7 “Parties”.
Sob.
“Don’t they care??”
81,000 interviewing for positions in Klaus Schab’s New World Order.
Paul,
Your last point hits the nail on the head. If you want negotiations to achieve a successful outcome, then the fewer people the better.
I haven’t a clue (even assuming I agreed with the climate hysteria narrative) what the point of this jamboree is.
Hi Paul
“Meanwhile the BBC’s contribution to saving the planet is 40 staff.”
There are two tranches of BBC bods.
Those listed under “BBC”, and those listed under “British Broadcasting Corporation”
What’s ludicrous, is the fact delegations sent 14 ‘baristas’, one of whom is a “Ms. Cherryl Callao Guadalquiver”, a ‘Head Barista Trainer’. Listed at row 25,213 on the Party Overflow tab. Of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland delegation
YCMIU
The second ‘BBC’ tranche of 7 includes Sky News’ Tom Heap.
So, 46 BBC bods.
Strangely, Tom Heap is listed under “British Broadcasting Corporation” rather than Sky, considering the Sky News / Sky News Arabia / Sky TG24 mob totals 139, including 2x ‘Hairdressers’. 🤔
A ‘King Charles cameraman’????????
Now that’s what I call a target-rich environment!
The COP28 peon menu comprises generous servings of rustically shredded raw chilled turnip crudo adorned with dramatically contrasting Carpaccio della bluebottle and a beverage choice of gaseuse or still fossatod’acqua.
– if only
My mind is boggled.
82,000.plus those not important enough.
You can guarantee there won’t be a sceptical word spoken as the science must not be challenged……except for the Sultan. He sure won’t be invited to 29!

The U.S. is represented by a bunch of politicians, including John Kerry.
I am suggesting that the COP meeting set an upper limit on each person’s annual CO2 emissions. It shall be 1 Kerry, based on the emissions credited to John Kerry in 2022, from his share of his mansion’s emissions to his private and commercial jet travels, offices, hotel rooms, food, … .
There shall be a few exceptions for people who have to travel to the moon, et al.
The BBC spin it thus
