SNP green scheme to cost £3.5m and take almost 1,000 years to recoup costs

Meanwhile back in the real world:
A taxpayer-funded green scheme designed to hit SNP climate targets has been branded “absurd” after it emerged it would take almost 1,000 years for taxpayers to recoup costs.
The price of decarbonising a small Victorian Crown Office building in Elgin, which involves insulation and installing a heat pump to replace a gas boiler, has spiralled to £3.5 million.
The estimated saving on annual energy bills is just £3,885, meaning it will take more than 900 years for the public purse to be reimbursed.

It is a classic example describing of our decline and may well be deliberate to hasten our decline.
The scheme was supposed to demonstrate the viability of converting Victorian buildings to operate with environmentally friendly heating systems.
Now it’s demonstrated the lack of viability, will the SNP back off? In a word, no.
I would suggest that they needed to employ more proficient surveyors and heating engineers who would have shown them that it was a complete folly. Here’s an idea – make the SNP pay for it out of their party funds.
And the benefit to saving Earth from CO2 will be . . .
… wait for it… {drum roll} . . . Zero
What a great plan!
It’s well known that politicians do not have to justify the use of OPM.
Once again; morons, led by cretins!
I wonder how many Victorian buildings the Scottish ‘government’ have on their/they books?
This article was covered here on the 5th December, and on the BBC website just before that.
And how many times will the system have to be replaced in that 900 years?
And what will have been the interest on the £3.5m paid off over 900 years? About £180 billion (thousand million US style) at 3% compound, assuming SNP can get such a low rate. These absurd claims always omit that essential calculation. Tax payers’ money is free of course.
“SNP green scheme to cost £3.5m”
I think that you may have lost a billion?
Most of the inhabitants of Scotland have been let down by politicians of all parties for decades, the SNP are no different; although the SNP do appear to have a more destructive approach than many other parties.
