Gatwick Airport Tesla Fire Cover Up

March 14, 2024

By Paul Homewood

Looks like another EV fire is being covered up:

As Geoff points out, there is very little mention of this on the internet, other than the Express. I have located a couple of photos. Fortunately the fire was containable in an outside car park, which would not have been the case in a multi-storey:

It is strange by the way that Bedfordshire Fire Service don’t seem to have yet published their report into the Luton Airport fire last October, or even provided any updates since the first few days.

One wonders what they are trying to hide!

In January, industrial units at Treforest in South Wales went up in flames because an electric van parked outside against the roller shutter doors just exploded. There is CCTV footage of it spontaneously igniting. One woman died in the units, and many more would have been had the local rugby club not been training there in the gym, because the exits were blocked and they burst their way through.

Virtually nothing has been said or done.

With the Bristol airport fire last December, together with Luton and now Gatwick, there is something going on, the apparent inability to identify the source of the initial ignition looks like a cover up, but I cannot believe the fire brigades would be party to that, after all preventing fires is a big part of their responsibilities.

The people with all the facts are the insurance companies, but the long delay is not very reassuring and BEV sales are falling rapidly. Unless detailed reports on these fires exonerates BEV’s they are doomed, what is the holdup? (I think we all know why)

I was poised with link in hand, ready to post. Too slow!

‘Geoff Buys Cars’ is doing us all a great service with his whistleblowing, especially as MSM will never cover these issues in any great depth.

GeoffB, is this your video? There may be more than one Geoff!

The Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service are fully aware of the dangers of thermal runaway leading to fire and explosion in Li-ion batteries, and they now comment on planning applications for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Devon. It is not in their interest to cover up these fires (particularly after fires that have led to life-threatening injuries to, and deaths of, first responders). But maybe it is different at other Fire Services.

“It is not in their interest to cover up these fires (particularly after fires that have led to life-threatening injuries to, and deaths “

Keeping your job is a strong incentive.

The medical establishment have ‘covered up’ for more than 2 years and is still ongoing. Who would have believed they would ignore their Hippocratic Oath just to follow orders but they did !

I write in response to your request for information dated 19.01.2024 regarding the Bristol airport car fire.

Your request for information has been dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FoIA) and I can confirm AF&RS holds some information falling within the description specified within your request.

I have contacted the Fire Investigator again regarding the Airport car fire and they confirmed the type of car was a Mazda internal combustion engine vehicle. Due to the fire damage, we do not know the model type or hold any details as to the Vehicle Registration Mark. As you are aware, the cause of fire is recorded as accidental and the ignition source is recorded as unknown.

The statement regarding the ‘not known at this stage’ as to the type of car, we believe was issued before our Fire Investigator went to the airport to investigate.

My gosh, we just found this blog as we are travelling home in our rental and hubby driving whilst I’m googling for any info. Our car is not the Tesla, but it is burnt out. We have no car, Gatwick sent a message to say involved in incident and then did not respond to messages, our calls etc. They did not let us know any more until just as we were getting on plane to return to ole Blighty we got photo of our car. NCP are playing it down, but suspect electric car which effected few. I told them they’re full of shit as police I contacted earlier suggested 12. anyway Please email me

I suggest you try to contact GeoffBuysCars. His Youtube offers several different ways to get in touch: Facebook and Instagram, and by email if you sign in to Youtube. He will be happy for any light you can shed, but also has contacts in e.g. the insurance industry and fire brigade which means he might be a useful source of advice or connections to advice to help your case – plus he is keeping on top of the other airport parking fires. You might want to check out what he has found out so far on the others.

It can’t be covered up – we know, they know and they know we know and say NO to silly battery cars

Battery cars self combusting, battery buses self combusting – unless you’re an idiot, there’s a theme and important lesson here – Some NHS hospital trusts are looking to buy battery ambulances – well, that’s got carnage written all over it

Speaking of enclosed car parks (a.k.a. parking garages), what happens when all cars have an extra half-ton of batteries? Are they designed to take the extra load?

    Cheers,

Have the electric / hybrid London buses that were removed from service for “checks” been returned to service? did they require any remedial work?
