Jim Dale Gets It Wrong Again

The clown strikes again!

For many, the summer of 2022 sticks in the mind like a sweat-soaked shirt to the back beneath the country’s blazing 40C heatwave.

The UK saw temperatures smash records never seen before with the mercury hitting 40.3C in Lincolnshire, in what was the highest figure seen in UK climate history. But while Brits may have dodged a repeat of the infamous heat snap last year, 2023 was still Earth’s hottest on record overall – and fears are mounting over the dials rising again before summer even arrives.

Meteorologist Jim Dale claims Brits are in for a sweltering spring, seeing heat to rival that of 2022’s in April, while the Met Office has already projected overall temperatures this year to smash records again. Speaking to GB News, he said temperatures could climb unseasonably high this month as a result of climate change.

"We will see hot weather start to bake in during the course of April, and at times in the summer time," Mr Dale said. "We are not divorced from what is going around the globe and what is going on is quite frightening in terms of the temperature profiles. "

Baking hot weather? Really, Jim?

CET daily maximums got as high as a mild 18.3C on the 11th, and that was it! Well short of the record of 25.0C set in 2003, and hardly bikini weather. Indeed, what most people would describe as distinctly cool.

image

https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/data/maxtemp_daily_totals.txt

Since then the month has mostly been distinctly cold.

And there is zero chance of any “sweltering” weather for the rest of the month either.

Why the media keep on quoting this clown is a mystery!

Noel (Jim) Dale is not a meteorologist, he trained as a Royal Navy Observer and has scammed his way onto all the MSM as an “expert”, as he spouts the “official” line, the only possible reason the idiot gets so much air time is that he’s cheap. And you get exactly what you pay for. Garbage in, Garbage out!

The response from the Royal Meteorologist Society when asked about Mr Jim Dale.

RMetS is the only UK body that awards professional accreditation in meteorology. Jim Dale is not, and has never been, on our registers as an RMet or CMet.

Very entertaining column in ‘Metro’ online by the poor young hack on the climate catastrophe beat. Plainly regretting their career choice, it’s deliciously ironic and sarcastic.

This past winter/ early spring has been miserable and cold- as a regular hiker who walks two or three times a week, I can’t remember a more dreary period with very few days that have been comfortably warm and dry- for this nutcase to keep rabbiting on about global warming and the hottest winter etc etc etc is an absolute joke!

Not such a big joke is that this idiot is given so much media time with no one being given the opportunity to provide the true facts and a lot of people actually believe this garbage

Our golf course is lucky as we have a “dry” 9 holes which have been open over the past six months with a few breaks (7weeks out 24 closed), the other 9 are waterlogged, the drainage system cannot drain as the becks and dykes are full and over flowing. We have today (26th April) opened the full 18, but areas are unplayable due to standing water, areas are noticeable in that they are very soft, plugged balls are one thing, completely disappeared balls are a problem, all in all, very few outdoor activities have had it easy, we may be blessed with a day or two of mid teens temperatures and maybe dry weather, but I am still waiting for the above normal temperatures the Met Office stated April was going to bring.

  6. April 26, 2024 3:33 pm

My central heating has been operating far more than normal this year. Everybody I talk to keeps asking when spring is going to arrive.

Similar in Scandinavia. Nights still below freezing point. Snow still covering half of Sweden and up to 3m in some places in Norway.

      • April 26, 2024 7:25 pm

        Need to add …

Media here in Sweden reported last week that it was extremly HOT everywhere, except in Scandinavia. Despite snowing in the French Riviera. The Nürburgring racing track in Germany was closed due to same reason.

I check the temperatures around the world in the daily newspaper, paying particular attention to Stockholm and its very low temperatures and wondering how Greta is getting on in her fantasy global warming world.

Anyone else play ‘weather bunny ‘than it should be’ bingo’?

Watch the BBC weather and get a point every time cold weather is simply ‘cooler than average’ and then another point when warm weather is, mysteriously, ‘warmer than it should be this time of year’.

I always shout at the weather person, usually A-lex, when I hear ‘warmer than it should be this time of year’. It’s a-nother thing that irritates me. I usually go and make a brew during the news and weather forecast, it’s surprising how long a kettle can take to boil!

Jim Noel Roger “the cabin boy” is so annoying.

He really doesn’t like anyone posting negative comments about his book on his X account BWS/Jim NR Dale (@BritWeatherSvs) / X (twitter.com)

He particularly dislikes any mention of the fact that the book contains advice such as “use ice and cold water to cool off “, “if you live in an area that is fire prone make sure you have fire preventions”, and “don’t look at the sun”.

York today, heavy overnight frost, 0deg C at 0700hrs, got upto a barmy 4deg C at 1100hrs, hit a high of 7deg C at 1400hrs, then a short sharp hailstorm followed by rain and a drop in temperature to 5deg C.

Please, please, can we have some Global Warming, Crisis, Emergency, Change, anything to move the temperature dail UPWARDS, and if it reaches 30deg C, do you really think anyone who has gone thru the last six months of cold, rain, hail, cold, rain with supersaturated land is going to complain if we are warmer, dryer and the land starts to dry out.

    Bring it on.

I see Jim has quoted the temperature as over 40 degrees C in Lincolnshire. Do I remember that the hottest place was actually in RAF Coningsby but when it was pointed out that the base was home to jet aircraft, temperatures at the base were described as in Lincolnshire. Likewise temperatures at Heathrow and Kew Gardens with their UHI suddenly became referred to as West London. I wonder why?

The DT carriead a headline article quoting the Met Office that this April is the warmest on record. When I was a teenager in Rhyl in the 1950s we started swimming in the sea from mid April and the open air (sea water, unheated) baths opened on or about 7 May with temperatures 57-59 degress F.

The point is serious. The majority of ill educated folks WILL remember the wild projections as fact. I am sick and tired of trying to educate people who spew the same nonsense because they get this kind of krap from the likes of Dale and the rest of the MSM. Also, the weasels realize they cannot be brought to account for wrong predictions, even though they should.

    • April 27, 2024 6:40 pm

Also, the weasels realize they cannot be brought to account for wrong predictions, even though they should.

My view is that ” Fraud by abuse of position” applies, but I’m not a lawyer, or a legal person in any way.

The UK Crown Prosecution Service says :

Fraud by abuse of position (Section 4)

      The defendant

      • occupies a position in which he was expected to safeguard, or not to act against, the financial interests of another person
      • abused that position
      • dishonestly
      • intending by that abuse to make a gain/cause a loss

The abuse may consist of an omission rather than an act .

Like the other two Section 1 offences, Section 4 is entirely offender focused. It is complete once the Defendant carries out the act that is the abuse of his position. It is immaterial whether or not he is successful in his enterprise and whether or not any gain or loss is actually made .

As with all the Section 1 offences, though there need be no consequences to the offending, the existence and extent of those consequences will be very material to sentence, compensation and confiscation. It will still therefore be necessary to gather that evidence. In many instances it is the fact of the gain or loss that will prove the Defendant’s dishonesty beyond reasonable doubt.

IMO, “> intending by that abuse to make a gain/cause a loss <” could be supported if the defendant can be shown to be likely to make financial gain if the belief in AGW is maintained.

Well, I guess for Jim Dale the cash keeps rolling in each time he opens his mouth. I understand that he’s well qualified – got a big tick when he was a lower deck sailor in the RN for making daily checks of a piece of sea weed to determine if the weather would be fine or not.

Highly qualified as a climate researcher/scientist? No, I don’t think so.

    Large mouth? Certainly!

BTW, do read today’s Daily Sceptic on how the German Greens fooled their minister but making not so subtle changes to reports that then caused the shutdown of their nuclear power stations!
