Chinese handcuffs: How China exploits America’s climate agenda

Since the 1970s, China has been waging an effective long-term strategy to transform its energy resource vulnerabilities into a net advantage. China’s growing control of and influence over global energy supply chains is providing it with new sources of leverage. Worse still, the U.S. is actively contributing to China’s dominance over the green energy domain while failing to exploit the challenges China has in this sector. With the energy policy trajectory under the Biden Administration, China is positioned to dominate future energy markets for decades to come. This dominance is not inevitable—but the U.S. must act now to prevent it and to free itself from its self-imposed “Chinese handcuffs.”

KEY TAKEAWAYS

America is one of the world’s three largest energy producers; China is the world’s largest energy importer. Yet, current U.S. policy puts energy security at risk.

Over the past few decades, China has been executing a plan to reverse these roles by dominating the so-called green movement openly embraced by the political Left.

The Biden Administration rejoined the Paris Agreement, jeopardizing U.S. energy security, saddling the U.S. with high financial costs, and giving China a free ride.

Huh, the Arrogance of the Mighty, best to get out of their way when they fall HARD. All those Years at Uni. Meeting with and speaking to, / understanding the various cultures around the world. AS Gramps says, ‘never did we believe we would see or think that our Western Governments would turn against us, never did we ever think we would have / be making enemies of the “Third World” It is n absolute disgrace that later Generations have helped in the degeneration of Society by way of corrupt Media and Government. Just more of this “If you’re not with us, you’re against us”. After all, they are ALL my brothers and sisters, why should I want to harm them ?

    Gamecock can translate:

    “Vote Trump.”

but the U.S. must act now

Not a chance. Well, maybe if a glacier advances and plows over the White House. Or 3 years in the Corn Belt without a harvest.

A very timely report, yet one the comes as little surprise. It’s been as plain as the nose on Biden’s face what has been happening but the poor old fool doesn’t want to know and probably doesn’t want to renege on whatever lucrative agreement with China Hunter set up for ‘The Big Man’.

It seems to me that if Trump is not elected then the USA’s goose will be well and truly cooked by China using a recipe kindly provided by the Democrats.

It’s such a pity that wjhen it comes to dealing with imagined human induced climate change most Americans vote, not logically, based on facts, but on party lines, gobbling up any hysteria or distorted tale that Gore and Kerry, plus so many others whose income, credibility and livelihood depend on the Big Lie can think up.

Here in France the continuous and insidious message of ‘le rechauffement climatique’ continues with EVERY news report containing at least one apparent climate change induced disaster reported daily as they scour reports from around the world, no matter where, to bring the message home.

I fear for my grandchildren, whose parents have swallowed the warming tale hook, line and sinker.

How China promotes and encourages Western economic suicide through global warming obsession … would be a better way to put it (and add in Russia … which funded groups supporting Nut Zero for obvious reasons)

China aided and abetted by globalist elites, are driving the Wests climate cult, its regression, no shots fired

Because Chinese leaders are stupid. They are mercantilist. When I’m poorer, I’m going to be buying fewer things made by Chinese workers. Now if I was richer, the reverse would happen.

China had a record trade surplus in April of £57.92bn ($72.4bn). The plan is working.

Oh please. Adam Smith showed how absurd such things are, 250 years ago. Trade is simply one part of a much larger equation and as meaningless on its own as saying Tesco perpetually runs a trade surplus with all its customers. We exchange money for goods. Which would you rather eat, drive, wear? Money or goods?
