Jim Dale speaks a lot of nonsense and justifies none of his statements scientifically.

If Dale is ever called as a prosecution witness I do hope the Defence insist on the court knowing and publishing his so-called ‘qualifications. I certainly know of no degree courses in ”Meteorology Observance’. And most certainly NOT a ‘qualification’ for ‘forty years experience’.

As far as I can ascertain Harry, the “higher” courses for Meteorological Observer run at about a level 2 qualification which is the equivalent of a GCSE. It is simply a recording of meters and judging basic levels such as cloud cover etc.
There seems to be no more detailed science involved than there is in general labouring.

I have been listening to the Post Office Limited Inquiry most days. Apart from parallels to the BBC and Climate Change I’ve learnt a few things. One is the duty of disclosure and continuing disclosure for expert witnesses. It’s an interesting area for weather and climate as non-disclosure has caused a lot of issues and amnesia at POL.

A good question for any expert climate witness “what data have you discarded or modified?”

Noel Roger the cabin boy AKA Jim Dale is so annoying, he blocked me on X because I mocked his book, which was a shame because it was quite enjoyable poking fun at him.

Dale mentions erroneous data. What about the corrupt temperature data from within urban areas that forms the basis of the claims of warming. Get real. He needs to be locked away as the criminal.

Makes me ashamed to have served in the Royal Navy to hear his sycophantic self-serving drivel. Obviously a winker who would have been ragged mercilessly in any mess-deck I ever lived in. Should be keel-hauled (and that’s just for starters!)

Of course he does! He is the Emperor of course, innen he?
and then of course there’s all his Mädels …. watching the weather forecast today AS AN EXAMPLE: Rain moving NORTH ( ok there) with a Brisk NORTH wind ( eh?) but this was easily clarified later on with the German weather forecast by THEIR Mädels ” Deep area centre over British Isles moving North and SHOWING the anti-clockwise gyre producing a northerly wind over us on its western side. “

The best description I heard of Jim Dale is that he has certificate confirming he can read a thermometer

Mrs. Dale’s Diary used to be a lot more ‘scientific’ than he is.

Trofim Lysenko would be most indignant if he had been compared to this ignorant, bragging twerp.

Come on, give him a break! He is the senior meteorologist in his own ‘climate change mitigation’ company. Ha!

wikipedia actually has a page which describes what a meteorological observer is Observer (meteorological) – Wikipedia

Role is defined as “a person authorized by a weather authority to make or record meteorological observations”. So the ability to look at the sky, wander round a stevenson screen, fill in a form and send it off is all that is required. No wonder he refuses to answer the question about what his qualifications are.

Something I was taught in school aged about 10 I think. We had to take wet and dry bulb readings and read the humidity off a nomogram, ensure the wet bulb was going to remain suitably wet, read and reset the max/min thermometer pins as well as read the current temperature, pour out the rain guage contents into the graduated cylinder to measure rainfall, then empty/dry/reassemble, close up the Stevenson screen and weekly replace the paper on the barograph and ensure its ink was topped up, and mark up the charts of the readings from the outdoor equipment.

Didn’t even need a GCSE or O level or 11+ as they were in my day.

The clearly stated intention of some believers’to criminalise non-believers demonstrates that some believers realise how flawed their belief is.
