What a pathetic excuse! There was no reason at all why this announcement had to be made in Scotland, other than sheer politicking.
And there was certainly no reason why it could not have been made a few hours later, allowing him to travel by train.

Hands up all those that think Starmar is the biggest waste of space ever to lead the Labour Party. On the other hand the organised working class are waking up to the fact that the Net Zero policy was designed to smash industry in the UK and other countries.
Pretty much agreed, but he’s up against some very stiff competition there. Don’t forget Ed Miliband, famed not only for bacon sandwiches and the Great Edstone, but for the Climate Change Act 2008.
But it is possible that Starmer wins on points for his outrageous and barefaced lying. A minute looking at his “GB Energy” scamdemic will give you the flavour.
Then there are numerous other lies. Knighted for being Director of Public Prosecutions, he allegedly was completely unaware of Jimmy Savile’s antics and, even more remarkably, of the numerous mainly Pakistani gang-child-rape gangs operating across the length and breadth of the UK. “Diversity” had to be promoted!
At least Corbyn, sad super-left antisemitic old loony though he was, mostly told the truth (at least according to his weird beliefs).
Starmer was, of course his trusted lieutenant.

The working class – if such a thing really still exists given the UK no longer has mass industrial employment – should also wake up to the fact that Labour hates them, especially if they fly the Cross of St George, as they don’t subscribe to their woke agenda as laid out by Islington liberals.

Ray, thanks for that. I’m considerng asking BBC Verify to investigate Met Office claims about record temperatures against category of weather station recording these values. I am going to make a note of a few before doing so.

I am personally compiling a huge dossier on the out and out dishonesty of the Met Office to lodge a legal case against them. I am on my 4th FOI request as their enquiries office is now refusing to answer even basic questions. I also have now made a formal complaint about their illegally declining to release information.
I literally have dozens of photos of MO sites that are frankly risible.
I believe you are in Derbyshire way so consider this – in the entire county of Derbyshire the MO have just 3 operational weather stations. Buxton (a joke of a class 5), Middleton:Hillside (even more of a joke Class 5 and only installed in 2009) and the infamous Coton-in-the Elms which is even more of a ridiculous Class 5 that regularly appears in the daily extremes. n.b. these assessments are the official MO classifications not mine.
The entire county does NOT now have a single reputable weather station. However, in the 1970s there were eleven mostly good quality sites simultaneously reporting including 2 in Derby itself.
p.s.here is an example of the Met Office’s response to me asking for the CIMO classification of a new station at Neatishead:-
“Neatishead was first opened on 19th December 2022.
Whilst we look up what CIMO rating the site is, we will need to know why you are enquiring and what are you doing with the information?”
You can make an FOI of what is known as “Environment Information” without even giving your name but these “civil servant” jerks think they can insist on knowing what I am doing with information on how their sites comply with ISO standard 19289:2014(E). Complete tw@ts.

Yes I am in Derby.
I do my complaints in the sure and certain knowledge that the BBC and OFCOM will reject them. But by putting in references to papers, data and even previous articles on the BBC website that contradicts what they are currently claiming it makes them have to look at the information often at the OFCOM stage.
I complained to the BBC about having to put my address and phone number in a complaint. I didn’t get a sensible reason so now I keep it vague and meaningless.
It’s endemic in British organisations that data is kept secret. I’ve had a lot of problems with my eyes in the last 15 years. While we were in France I got copies of every scan, photo and test usually on the day. Here it’s a fight to get anything and only after months.
Hi again Glen, just as an aside the record temperature for the UK yesterday (1st of June) was measured in a walled kitchen garden designed with the sole intention of modifying upwards the natural climate. Figures like this feed into “Climate Average” data – that is surely only fraudulent science. You probably are familiar with this one.

The Met Office claim it is class 4, reality says it should not even be considered for anything other than the local gardens manager’s use.
Under normal circumstances it would make perfect sense for Starmer to fly to Scotland in a private jet. The thing that makes it wrong is the hypocrisy of saying one thing and doing the opposite and expecting all the rest of us to do the “right” thing.
Also I wondered who paid for the jet. Was it perhaps one of his party donors?

Yes. Starmer just announced that there are good reasons for people to use private jets.
I checked out his options for travel from Abergavenny to Glasgow. There are 19 trains a day with connection at Crewe. Best time 5:35. By car about 6:30, with opportunities to add in whistle-stop campaigning at comfort breaks which would extend the time. By air the choices were drive to Rhoose 1:20 or Gloucester 1:20 fly to Prestwick as the business jet airport for Glasgow, 45 mins into town with over an hour for the flight and transfers.
The train to Crewe is just 3 coaches with no first class. Starmer was avoiding the οι πολλοί.

There’s plenty of hypocrisy over climate but I feel calling his flight ‘a private jet’ is overdoing it if reports are correct he used a Beechcraft King Air -that’s not a ‘jet’ and seems fairly modest for his purpose.
King Air is a turboprop. Jet engines turning propellers.
A King Air might manage up to 10 passengers. Charter cost would be about $10,000 according to evojets, and flight time 1:35. For the same price a small jet seating up to 5 could do the journey in 1:05, a slightly bigger one to seat 10 in 1 hour for an extra $2,000. Allowing for the travel time each end and say 15 minutes before/after airborne the time saving isn’t looking huge.
But…trains and buses are for little people. Like that useless waste of Earth resources John Kerry, he is important so the rules need not apply to him and the cabal of at best intelligent spinal chord he has surrounded himself with in the Laburrrrrr party.
This is the same totally unelectable Laburr party who were crushed at the last election. The only difference is that the Suicide Squad (the Conservative Party) , incredibly made Laburrr appear less bad than them.
