Luling Keeps Changing
By Paul Homewood
Tim Channon comments about the temperature adjustments at Luling:
Some of the Luling observer sheets are online at the Lulling farm web site. I assume this gives independence from NCDC and is therefore the original.
Picking up one I archived online, Jan 2011, calculated the mean by hand.
I make it 8.11C
First sheet you show 899E
Second sheet 893E
Oh what fun.
This is confirmed by the station record.
The mean measured was 46.6F, = 8.11C.
As Tim points out, the USHCN version was 8.99C on Friday.
And this has now morphed into 8.93C today.

Come back tomorrow, and I have no doubt it will have changed again.
Apparently this is “good science.”
Reblogged this on CraigM350.
Paul, you should run a contest. Guess what the value will be for the next 7 days. You know, like predicting local weather. It could be fun and would highlight the problem.

NOAA data is untrustworthy.
NOAA is untrustworthy.
NOAA is an utter, total and complete waste of time and American taxpayer’s money.
Fire all the scam artists involved in this crime, this fraud, this academic and scientific disaster.
Fire.
Them.
All.
Paul,
See this comment on WUWT.
I’ve not seen a better hypothesis as to why things keep changing.
The problem is that they store the results on a second-hand ex-IRS email server drive.
As they say in America – good enough for government work.
Paul, I am glad to see that you got Nick to remove that offensive remark.
Update I’ve checked the Luling data today. Was easiest to post the result on my own blog. http://daedalearth.wordpress.com/2014/06/30/more-luling/
(copy as you see fit PH)
Is NOAA accidently running the same computer program on the data every day, to gradually distort the data until it agrees with the prevailing political wishes. Is this just incompetance or deliberate surrepticious systematic fraud ?
What possible justification can there be for daily adjustments to historic data ?
I can’t wait to see if tomorrows data is different again.
Perhaps they have a fall guy or scapegoat ready in case a 4 letter word hits the fan.
