IPCC Confirmed Troposphere Should Warm Faster In 2007 Report

August 31, 2015

By Paul Homewood

Interesting to cast how minds back to what the IPCC had to say about satellite temperatures in 2007.

“Above the surface, global observations since the late 1950s show that the troposphere (up to about 10 km) has warmed at a slightly greater rate than the surface, while the stratosphere (about 10–30 km) has cooled markedly since 1979. This is in accord with physical expectations and most model results”

Since 2010, however, satellites have been diverging from surface sets at a rapid rate of knots.

The IPCC has been discredited as one of the UN’s propaganda organizations that today has little or no respect for the basic principles of science.

The IPCC should be the LiePCC. The models say the upper troposphere should be warming significantly faster than the surface – about 0.4 deg C/decade rather than 0.1 deg C/decade. The measurements show that it is not – that it is statistically the same warming as the surface.

    Thanks, Paul.
It’s not surprising to see reality diverging from bad physics forecasts.
But for some 20 years after 1980 it did the opposite; nature seemed to confirm the models, at least in the sign of the result (global warming). The so called “pause” broke the trend.
    Now what? Paris?

Have any IPCC predictions come true?
It would be useful if someone could do an audit of this.
To quote the IPCC I have “high confidence” that very few have.

    Paul,

I recommend that critics of AGW dogma use “ResearchGate” because it offers critics and editors of mainstream research journals, the news media, leaders of federal research agencies and the scientific community an opportunity to DOWNLOAD, READ & RESPOND in public, affirming or denying precise experimental data and observations that
